@@sugadaddy6629 "No mourners, no funerals" is a saying common among the crows. Actually the whole gang. Its their way of saying "good luck" As said by original commentor, it's so weird when we realise that the stuff we're taking for common knowledge isn't actually known to all the watchers XD
FRRR like, he got to have a nice time with the stable guy, wait outside and he was still the ont kidnapping her while kaz and inej were fighting for their lives XDD
OKAY OKAY OKAY BUT WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT TO ABSOLUTE ROMANTIC BANGER OF A LINE THAT IS KAZ TELLING INEJ "no saint has ever watched over me. not like you have." BRUH. HE'S SAYING I'M NOT RELIGIOUS BUT I WORSHIP YOU. IF SOMEONE SAID THAT TO ME I'D CRY!!!!! IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! EVERY TIME I THINK ABOUT IT I GO A LITTLE CRAZIER BC KANEJ SUPREMACY!!!!!!!
@@roseepretter1545 the first time I watched the episode, that line struck me so hard? Bc like. We know kaz is a true atheist. He only believes in whatever can benefit him. And yet. He's out here saying "look I don't believe in your saints or demons, but I believe in you, and that's enough." HE PUTS HER IN A POSITION EQUAL TO THE LITERAL PEOPLE SHE WORSHIPS. AND I THOUGHT THE "wait is my tie straight" WAS THE GREATEST KANEJ LINE EVER WRITTEN. I WAS SO WRONG.
11:48 YOU GUYS THIS IS A QUOTE FROM SIX OF CROWS!!! "if any of you survive, make sure i have an open casket, the world deserves a few more moments with this face." Kaz jus didnt let him finish it XD
I know this clip isn't about them, but did anyone else love how Nina and Matthias' scenes were lifted straight from the books? Also, the actors nailed the delivery :)
I have never read the books before but their moments on the show single handedly made me place the books on order😭 i care more about their ship progression than the main character's ships at this point, they are soooo cute!
Literally every single one of his perspectives in the book 😂 every time it was his POV I was always like ooo I’ll find out more about the plan… NOPE just Kaz over here simping for Inej endlessly 😂 honestly the best though I love them so much
10:59 Can we please acknowledge the fact that Kaz said he believes in Jesper, I just- That's literally so important to me because if you remember in the books, Jesper felt like Kaz didn't trust him nearly as much as he trusted Inej, and he was always left out of the changes in Kaz's plans and the different levels to them, so to hear Kaz say he believes in him along with Inej, even after Jesper gambled the money away, my heart literally couldn't take it-
Agreed. It was super sweet when Kaz told Inej to tell him that he was missed "around the Slat" at the end of CK. Spoilers for RoW: And it was even sweeter when Kaz told Jesper and Wylan, "And you wonder why I dont visit more often." The fact that he actually checks up on them post heist quite a bit just warms my heart. Especially since Kaz is Kaz
agree with everything, but i saw kaz letting jesper gamble all the money away in the show as part of his plan. I mean he's known jesper for a long time now and even if you were to only talk to him for five minutes you'd know he has a gambling addiction. I felt he did that on purpose in order to understand Arken's plan better and get in his head. So he kinda used jesper in that scene for his own gain but other wise i agree with everything else that you said.
Love how that's literally a scene in the book. (Spoiler) Kaz: *almost drowns and wakes up completely disoriented* Where am I? What's life? Why are we here? Nina: There's three million kruge waiting for you in Ketterdam if we complete this mission. Kaz, eyes clearing up: It's FOUR million. Nina: I knew this would bring you back.
They oscillate between "I will have my god and I will make it with my own hands" or "someone poked me with their pinky the other day and I started crying". So like, college students juggling three different deadlines?
honestly, if alina and mal are the peppy, excited college freshmen, the crows are the panicked seniors who have 5 deadlines due in 2 days, have only gotten 3 hours of sleep in the past month, and are only surviving on coffee, energy drinks, and sheer force of will
Actually I fell for him the moment he appeared and didnt know then how small or big his role was or which side he could take so I was wishing my choice to be proven right. Because I always choose one character to follow in every movie tv show or book. And that was kaz for shadows and bones tv show and he didn't dissapoint.
I like how we as a fandom came to the very unhinged conclusion that if Kaz and Kirigan fought in any circumstance Kaz would win by *WHACKING HIM WITH HIS CANE* 😭
3:44, actually I think in an interview Amita Suman said there were 14 knives in her costume, which made it pretty hard to move around and get dressed in it
Yes the knive count is incorrect because you can see at 3:25 she holds a curved blade in her left hand which isn't seen on the previous shot where she removes 3 knives, thus she removes 4 knives and not 3 (so that's 6 knives at this point instead of 5), and then she removes 2 pairs of knives from her abdomen (so 4 knives on her abdomen, instead of 2 as counted). So at this point it's 11 knives instead of 8. Then you add the 2 knives on her right leg and the one hidden in her hair and you get 14 knives.
Literally I am rereading six of crows and rewatching the show over and over again until the second season! No shame! Also no regrets on my Dregs tattoo modified a little to represent Kaz when their saying on top! Still my favorite tattoo I have!
This Trio is amazing! But do you know what they are missing? A necromancer witch and a handsome moral compass. Edit: And a somehow naive demolition expert.
As soon as I heard that line my brain combined it with a quote from the show Leverage and it seemed so fitting Kaz: “Maybe we’ll use plan G.” Inej: “What’s plan G?” K: “Jesper dies in plan G” Jesper: “I’m sorry WHAT?” I: “...I like plan G”
Do you mean that it wasn't in this video or that it wasn't mentioned in the show? Because he did say that in the show when they were in the Little Palace, trying to nab Alina. They had her to escort her to dinner and then the General came up and took her away from them. That's when Kaz said it.
@@speckofdignity2487 I thought the same thing, except it was Inej: "Maybe we'll use plan M." Matthias: "What's plan M?" Inej: "Kaz dies in plan M." Kaz: "I'm sorry WHAT?" Matthias: "... I like plan M."
Having never read or even heard of the books when Kaz showed up I thought he was just going to be a douche but damn hes such an awesome character and is a really good guy despite not being a heroic character. That actor also pulls it off flawlessly, as does all the actors on the show
@@Nina-xz3qh to add on to this, there's actually three books in total. The first one is Shadow and Bones, the second one is Six Of Crows, and the final one is The Crooked Kingdom. As far as I know, (I haven't read the books), the ones that the commentor mentioned above are the ones that heavily involve the Crows. The first one is mainly the Alina and The Darkling storyline.
@@fairyblu6929 actually, in the books it's (1)Shadow and bone, (2)ruin and rising and (3)siege and storm, then three years later (in the book world) is the (1)Six of crows and (2)Crooked kingdom, shaddow and bone show just put the timeline together, but they're actually separate book series, there also 2 more in the same world, Rule of wolves and another one I cannot remember for the life of me
@@anymarcos2355 no, kaz has a very tragic backstory (and it's not the typical sad hero backstory cliché it's actually very complex and jarring). if you read the six of crows duology you'll find out, because there the crows are the main characters. kaz has haphephobia (fear of skin to skin contact) and the reason for it is his backstory. so that's what is being talked about in this comment. it's not related to jesper in any way and he and kaz don't have any 'thing' like that
@@anymarcos2355 no they don’t the other comments explains it pretty well, but I would like to add though nothing comes of it, in the books Jesper does have a crush on Kaz
The whole interaction where inej makes Jesper jump and he’s so shocked and he calls her love (as a friend I hope) and him just being so shocked when he said “she’s done it again” is so cute to me
I love how when Jes was shooting the card in Inej's mouth, Kaz was staring (glaring) at HIM instead of watching her. Like on the slight chance Jesper missed, he just couldn't watch. "I couldn't bear to watch you fall." Flawless.
@@genyakostyk I literally love Nina and Matthias in the books and their chemistry on screen just brought it to life. All of the actors did the books such justice. I'm like a proud mom
kaz looking at the dekappel painting as he enters and smiling smugly took me out also i didn't know kazzle dazzle is a nickname for him i need in my life
Also I feel like the non book readers must have been kinda confused at the "scare of the pigeons" line lmao AND WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT IT MORE IDK WHY BUT WE DO AND THE WAY JESPER SAYS "BUSTED" JUST MAKES MY HEART GO😩😩✨✨✨✨
The Crows are literally the best thing about the show, aside from the brilliant soundtrack. these characters and their plotline is what kept me going with the show, because Alina's plotline was pretty boring until Kirigan showed his true colors and finally started acting like a leader of a pack and a man with a past, and not just like a sad pretty boy with issues. the Crows were entertaining from start to finish, especially during the time in Ketterdam and later on when they were trying to get to Ravka and Small Pallace. the chemistry between the actors and their characters is amazing and i'm sooo looking forward to see more action in Ketterdam in season 2. also, i gotta read The Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom as soon as possible to get some more Crows action :D i just love them and didn't expect i would!
I really thought that it was only me. While watching the whole show I was thinking "they really nailed the casting" I've never seen characters I only imagined in the books more alive and interesting
Anyone else love how when Rory says “A lock designed by one of them Grisha witches” and without missing a beat Kaz corrects him by saying “Fabrikator” and *SPOILER WARNING!!* Jesper is a fabrikator so it’s like he’s defending his crow.
Only just realised now that the reason Jes got through the landmines is because he's a fabrikator. All these little hints throughout the show really add an extra layer :D
I was actually kinda glad that he added Jesper too because that kind of shows Jesper is also very important to Kaz, not in a romantic way but still the relation between them is quite precious too... Most of the people who have read the books probably already know that Kaz kind of values Jesper a lot too but those who haven't read the books might not be able to tell that, so adding Jesper's name in that line kind of becomes important I think...
The number of knives were actually 13 in that clip when you listen to the sfx and notice how both of her hands are grabbing different knives starting after the 6th counting until the 8th mark. But who cares? We can all agree she's extremely deadly with them.
Good that's how many there should be, however I'd be more inclined to believe 12 since one of the knives is named after Saint Alina who technically doesn't exist yet.
@@Emma-sj6wp Maybe it's just me but in the series, one knife was left at Little Palace during the time when Inej saved Kaz from the Inferni. It's just my observation though so I'm not entirely sure. So if I follow my speculation and Alina gives Inej a new knife, then it totals back to 13
Actually it's 14 knives in total. The knife count is incorrect because you can see at 3:25 she holds a curved blade in her left hand which isn't seen on the previous shot where she removes 3 knives, thus she removes 4 knives and not 3 (so that's 6 knives at this point instead of 5), and later she removes 2 pairs of knives from her abdomen (so 4 knives on her abdomen, instead of 2 as counted). So at this point it's 11 knives instead of 8. Then you add the 2 knives on her right leg and the one hidden in her hair and you get 14 knives.
i want season 2 so badly but it will also break my heart since if it shows the events in SoC Kaz will get mad at Jesper in the end and this always makes me sad :(
I had the pleasure of meeting Leigh Bardugo back in 2016 when the second Six of Crows book came out. I picked the books up and got them signed on a whim, haven't regretted it since.
2:24 I can never see this scene the same way after watching Freddy do it like 12 times just trying to get it through the gate and then do it, and do a little victory thing 😂
i’ve watched this show eight time…i still get chills, laugh and cry. leigh did an amazing job blending the storylines. NOW I JUST NEED WESPER. BRING HIM TO US LEIGH. GET US WYLAN.
Only parts with kaz , inej and jesper that i was OMG !!!! I want Six of Crows every scenes !!! I'm in love of the 3 characters !!! The Grisha lines are... well not the same ...
I’ve been binge watching the show so many times that it’s to the point where I just skip to the crows scenes. And I can go on watching it forever. Ha ha ha.
