This video was very helpful. Sadly I didn't see the shims note until the keyboard was mostly built. One issue we had is that we bought a set of Key Caps that said they worked with 80 keyboards but the space bar was too small. I wish you had the 7U space bar requirement more promienantly. It was an oversight on my part. This is the first keyboard I've built and didn't realize that would be something I needed to know.

As a newbie, I love this product and having everything in one kit, but honestly a more in-depth tutorial would have been super beneficial. Why am I cutting the stabs? Why is there no mention of the shims in this video? I understand if the video was meant to be a quick overview but I’m sure other newcomers out there have many questions about the specifics of each step. Thank you nonetheless for the guide.

suggestion here as you probably don't want to redo the video BUT, adding a pop up at the moment the shims should go on and where and what they are for exactly would be important to add as there are a lot of new builders out there who have no idea what they are for. That includes myself, I had all finifhes putting the switches on when I realised I forgot them.... had to undo everything and redo it...

@@drakegostream shims are spacers to make larger stabilizer screws fit thinner PCBs. Not sure if they're needed in this build with stock stabs but if you use something like durocks they might. Not sure though.

I got the recent batch of Tiger80 lite and it also came with an additional foam. Is that meant to go behind the pcb? It has cutouts for all the hotswaps and JST connection. Thanks for including extra options with the board! Also, what is that dampener foam made out of?

If you mean the EVA foam, then no. It is meant to go on top of the PCB underneath the plate foam. Hope this helps though you probably have already figured it out by now

So mine came with a case foam (the one you place under the PCB, but I'm confused where to put it since I also want to include the tape mod. Do I put the case foam directly under the PCB and then tape over it or put the tape over the PCB and then place the case foam on top of the tape? Will the two methods affect the sound in any meaningful way?

I tried building this keyboard as my first custom keyboard, thought I had it finished, then looked down and saw I had a bag labelled "stabilizer shims" unopened...WHAT ARE THESE AND WHERE DO THEY GO?!?!?! no mention whatsoever in the video... have been searching youtube for 30 minutes trying to find how to install these :( pls help

Hey there, the shims are for the 1.2 mm PCBs, you could place them under the stabilizers or on the reverse side of the PCB to make the stabilizer more stable

My arctic sky tiger 80 looks nothing like what they show here and all over divinikey and kbdfans website. There are supposed to be 3 colors, but what I got was a blue board with white splatter, no flecks of another color. 😡

The PCB is 1.2mm the stabilizers is for 1.6mm PCB so the shims make up for the 0.4mm when inserting the stabilizers

You need to produce instruction manuals or videos, step by step guide for beginners. Sending it out with absolutely nothing is ridiculous. This Video hardly helps at all.
