I'm a retired airline captain. Several years ago I had KC on a flight and encountered him in the first class galley. I told him that his songs were the background music of my late teens in the 70s. He was good natured, smiled, and said "you don't know how many times i've heard that", and then thanked me for the compliment. He was proud to tell me how the band was still performing numerous concerts annually. Really a nice, friendly, polite man.
Yes we are. I love KC but why is he almost unrecognisable? BJ Thomas looked like BJ Thomas when he died, the Moody Blues still look like the Moody Blues etc, but KC doesn't look like him. Neither does Tony Orlando, I think it maybe weight z no judgement just pondering
I saw him in Charlestown, WV, in December. His music was a big part of my teen years . When he sang this song , it choked me up. It was like he was saying his final goodbye. Like you stated, "It sucks getting old."
Wonder how many people out there fr the 70's relate to this majestic song. Seeing their loved one leave out that door !! Knowing PLEASE DON'T GO Word for word. Words that totally fit to that sad memory. Take me back to the best era .. PLEASE
Well, this made me cry. I watched my boyfriend walk down a pier to swim with my brother and friends. I can still see him turning around to look at me. This was in 1982. He drowned that day. My life was forever changed. I miss him deep within my heart. This song will always make me think of him. Anyway, I am thankful for the song as I would give anything for him to have not turned to walk away. Hence the words, " please don't go" rings so so true to me.
Saw him in concert a couple years ago…he joked about his weight himself with a “KFC & The Sunshine Band” comment. His shows are very energetic and I hope he & the band keep going as long as possible.
Kc you have alot of miles on you but your show is still first class great disco songs i dont care what anybody says to bad the music of today cant have meaning like yours did you should be very proud of your lifes work.

I caught KC at the Illinois State Fair in maybe 1983. Just bought a ticket at the door (no "app" required!), grabbed a large Natural Light draft, and wandered up to the "standing" section right in front of the stage. They opened with "Sound Your Funky Horn." I was stunned by how good they were! Boundless energy!

He did fantastic! It's difficult to be able to sing as you used to, but I'm impressed by his breath control. I'd be out of breath and my voice cracking! 😂
We just saw these guys in Asheville, NC at The Salvage Station last night, (5/24/25, Memorial Day weekend). This wasn't your ordinary concert; it was a Vegas show!... They were very entertaining, and awesome dance music!
August, 2022: I sang this song, every pre-dawn hour, to a scraggly, feral 3-mo.-old-looking kitten, after he'd eaten my nightly buffet of kitten milk, H2O, cat kibble, and tuna.😊 He'd drop-by each eve at 8:30p.m., eat in-full (like, e v e r y t h i n g! 😅) then, nap, and hang-out (I gave him balls 😅) on my backyard sidewalk (near the plates) however, take off down the driveway, by pre-dawn 😔: This song came to mind, and he'd stop every few feet to look back at me, while I sang (but kept walking away 😄). My 94-yr.-old neighbor didn't mind my singing.😂 From Aug. 14 through Labor Day, this was the same routine, and outcome. I inched the plates closer to, and finally inside the back hall, the Labor Day weekend. 😃😊 He's healthy, very happy.
