It's not about the fact that he's versatile. It's the fact that this guy throws out brakes in the playoffs. Bro. We give away bones? Because he wasn't a team player
@@rubaiyat300 and difference between Lakers Russ & Nuggets Russ is lakers Russ was on a max deal while Nuggets Russ will most likely be on a minimum deal. That’s a HUGE difference.
IDK - I think Russ would be an excellent addition to Nuggets roster. I didn't follow him much in the past couple of years but if he's still in a good physical condition - with his experience, temperament and skills he'll be closing couple of gaps Nuggets have. He might be PERFECT in fact. I disagree on the whole CBA message. Booth's JOB is to figure it out and FIND A SOLUTION. And my (our) job is certainly NOT finding excuses for Booth and his front office. Also - finding a way to align the coaching staff and the GM/front office is Booth's and Kroenke's JOB. One thing that really puzzles me is - Nuggets (FO/GM/media... etc) seem to be forgetting one very important fact: They STILL have a HOF/top 10-15 historical talent in his PRIME on their roster. They certainly are not showing signs of appreciating this fact. HOW often they had something like that!? HOW long will they be waiting for another opportunity like this one!?!? And on Murray - I HOPE that he learned something this season. I HOPE. Nuggets need one high-level contributor at his position THAT THEY CAN RELY ON. I HOPE that he'll approach his preparation for the next season, his conditioning, his health with a much more PROFESSIONAL attitude. I don't want to go into bashing him, I'm tired of that - so I'll just say that he needs an ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT in a BIG and substantial way. Lastly - is the fact that Mares is not mentioning MPJs name even once (i think) a sign of something? If MPJ gets on a trading block - we can only hope that Booth is not going to squander it. Otherwise, I think that MPJ is NOT one of the big problems Nuggets have.
How is shooting 23% from Field goal, 17% from three, and 60% from the free throw line in the postseason ant being turnover prone with no ball movement. Tell me how is that helping
Scorer inside means nothing & who knows if he will even develop that part 2 his game 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️but anyways I don’t care if Christian averages 15ppg if he’s not a threat from 3 & teams are doubling off him onto jokic it’s a disaster
For real like Bruce brown and look what they did to him,we act like he won us a chip ,we did his ass a favor and he want to repay us like that, sad to see people don’t want to be a dynasty anymore ,they rather want the money
@@sabedindollci2401Bruce browns situation, and KCP was completely different. Denver didn't have browns bird rights, and no way in hell could have Denver matched the contract brown got even if they did because of how much our big 3 makes. KCP though they did have his bird rights, it sounds like Denver did try to match what he got, but KCP declined.
Westbrook could be a good add in basically the Brucie B role, back up pg and 6th man. And he is cheap at just $4 mio. If they move off Zeke, add Westbrook and Theis, maybe add a decent two way 2/3, better integrate Watson, Strawther and Tyson … they could have a nice team at under the 189 second apron. But then Malone has to accept less wins for more development to ultimately be better in the play offs.
Bowen was efficient, moved without the ball, could play defense, and above all consistent. You do not want the Westbrook on our team. Please don't tell me that's what you want
KCP was a big part of why they won a championship. Often made the other team’s best player have an off night. Occasionally made a huge shot. Tough guy to replace. Fun player to watch. Thanks KCP !!
It’s hard to buy the excuse that this is all about the second apron when the whole point of the second apron was to curb spending. Kroenkes voted for the CBA, so did Balmer and Lacob. It’s about the money. Always has been.
I'd honestly love Westbrook for the bench. Dude has basically averaged a triple double his entire career, and can run the 2nd unit more taking that from Murray so he can worry about shooting when he plays with the bench. He's also good enough that Malone will have tons more of different options for lineups. Denvers chemistry, and locker room attitude will be good for Russ. Look at the last few places he's been. Lakers with legm? Not surprising he was the one tossed under the bus. Is Westbrook the greatest player? Nah he definitely has his faults. But, very little trade assets to aquire him, and his contract is sub 5 million? No way should Denver pass that up
I would definitely hesitate with saying "great!" He's improving, he's most definitely putting the work in but, he still has a lot of work to do offensively, especially in the half-court. Defensively I think he is absolutely solid. He just needs to understand rotations and game situations a little better and, that will come with more experience. We will see what '25 brings!
@@TPG1 I dont wish but lets see if Jokic get sick or something and miss 20 games ..I would love to see how many you would win with this team. And lets look if Giannis or Luka Lebron dont play how many of those they would lose. I predict DN would lose at 15-18 of those games and other teams would lose like 5-10 of those games. This team is lottery bottom 5 team in NBA without Jok.
I loved having KCP but we need to innovate again. We've played 2 years of the same game plan and teams are smart enough to be ready for that. Now we better get someone else though there's gotta be some money to spend here
@@Powerule23 You can replace the defense. You can replace the shooting. You can replace the mid-range, handoff game. All those three things? Pretty freeaking hard to replace and neither Braun nor Watson are gonna do it.
@@edgardoMurnia And you’re not going to replace his knack for stripping the ball late in the fourth quarter in critical moments. He’s one of the best on-ball defenders in the league. I’m an outside looking in Nugget fan and this is disappointing.
I will say this about Russ, if the Nuggets do get him we are at least spared the 4 (or 2 depending on conference) regular season games where he lights Denver up. Russ always seems to have good games against us.
I think Jokic is the one superstar than can make it work this Russ💯 if this happens I really hope Westbrook gets a chip‼️ never thought I would be a nuggets fan🤣
It looks like Malone's mistakes from the last season will be compounded in the next. Even more will ride on Jokic, which will eventually run him into the ground as well. I still think Murray is not good enough, and I don't think there is a way to build a winning team again with him as a 2nd guy.
Ima Russ fan this the smartest thing can happen . Yall don’t know Russ he can start PG Jamal the 2 pick & roll with joker running the floor rebounding hustle plays !!! Russ in joker will average a triple double
so who do we have guarding Conley/Edwards or Kyrie/Luka? Murray and Braun? 🥴 I think we need to bring in Westbrook or Pat Bev for defensive purposes more than we need to replace KCPs shooting
This is a pure failure, i love DNVR and the media around it and understand the story narrative you have to produce but being outside i don't have to, BB out last year weakened Nuggets and KCP out even more strongly so no, this is a sinking ship with i don't see brave and bold thinking
Will be a very interesting season for the nuggets forsure. Maybe theyll be underestimated in certain matchups? I think its pretty tough, expectation wise, when your team is expected to win multiple championships, and year after year, it seems like your team is slightly diminishing while others are adding pieces 😂. ( My team isnt the nuggets, but i do enjoy watching that Jokic magic)
I just watched a video with Zach Lowe and Bobby Marks, where they both said ""teams like Denver...(I don't care about the others), they use second apron as an excuse to not have to pay players-they lost BB, JG and KCP in two years FOR NOTHING"".
KCP's loss is definitely an issue, especially if there isn't an adequate replacement in the backcourt. His defense, experience, and ability to knockdown open looks were invaluable in allowing the Nuggets to space the floor and play at a high-level offensively. Braun's defense is good, and he's getting better overall but, he's nowhere near being a KCP! Denver's depth was already a weakness, now it's even more so. DeAndre Jordan coming back is also a head-scratching move. He rarely plays and is virtually useless during the playoffs. It's still early; I'm not going to overreact but, it will be interesting to see what roster the Nuggets go into camp with in September.
Denver should consider Westbrook Reggie's replacement and pick up Luke Kennard in Free Agency. PG: Murray SG: Braun SF: MPJ PF: Gordon C: Jokic PG: Westbrook SG: Kennard SF: Watson PF: Zeke C: Deandre Jordan PG:Collin SG: Holiday SF:Julian PF: Holmes C: Cancar The nuggets will have 3 competitive units and depending on the development of the young guys, could have one of the deepest teams in the league, second to only Boston. If their third unit is top 10 in the league, second unit is top 10 in the league and their first unit is top five in the league, how can people say Denver has no depth? A top 10 second unit is nothing impressive but its a second unit that compliments the first unit extremely well so it can be considered a top 8 unit.
the problem I am noticing in the NBA and with its fans that you guys forgive players leaving and having no loyalty to easily, everyone is like "go get that bag" when bruce brown left, instead he should be criticized by the fans of the nuggets for having literally no loyalty. its the same with KCP, there is 0 repercussions for his choice. Its so strange why are you guys like this?
To be fair on the Hart contract, damn that’s a big payday. I thought he was an NBA player- Malone just refused to play smart lineups around him or find him regular rotation minutes. Same as many Nugs. Malone is my biggest worry with Westbrook. We are going to see Jamal, Westbrook, Strawther, Cancar, Holmes lineups I think
I wouldn’t be so quick to put OKC above Denver. I think the impact margin between Jokic and Shai is a lot larger than it may have appeared last year. They’re definitely a scary team but i gotta see it before i buy in
So once again everything comes down to Jokic, we keep using "Jokic makes everyone better" as excuse for bad drafting and trading. Is that poor man ever gonna rest and/or get some help?!
I mean we saw this past season with Bruce Brown his numbers & impact took a dip this past season. If KCP’s numbers & impact take a dip next year in Orlando would nuggets fans still be happy with the amount of $$ he’d be getting? Not saying one answer or the other is right. We don’t know yet. Just saying always 2 sides to the coin.
KCP is replaced with Braun, and that's not so bad. The real issue is that there is no replacement for Braun. What happens in the playoffs when teams play Braun off the floor due to his nonshooting threat? KCP might not have shot well, but at least people respected him. Braun will just be left open and more guys will swarm Jokic. Disaster in the making
Russell Westbrook isn't KCP's replacement. He's Reggie's replacement. He's better than Reggie in every aspect of basketball other than shooting. On a team with great shooters such as Murray, Michael "Catch My Rebound" Porter JR, Aaron Gordon and Jokic, Westbrook is a perfect fit and his flaws should be concealed well. Replacing Reggie with Westbrook bolsters Denver's depth significantly as Westbrook is actually playable and can be part of the rotation.
I dislike Westbrook with a passion, BUT it's gotten so bad for Nuggets last 2 seasons, Westbrook to Nuggets starting to look better than nothing at this point! Still going to be there each game for our team through thick & thin.
Also, are we sure Booth and Malone are actually getting along? I'm sorry, but I've been around office politics my whole life - what Booth is doing smells to me an awful lot like he's trying to set up Malone for failure, and I bet Malone knows it. Maybe I'm too cynical but that's real life and especially when a lot of money is involved. Maybe Booths just has another guy he sees as coach but can't oust him as he doesn't yet have enough political capital in the org
Disaster letting Pope go. Just dumb. But, besides Westbrook being a turn over machine and brick layer, he could at least be a defender to replace Jackson on the bench. Other than that, Denver owes the fans a he'll of allot more than current cheapness.
You don’t go from being a championship favorite to “not a contender” by losing kcp. The doom energy is wild man. I guess have fun watching us miss the playoffs for the first time in 6 years?
@@zrunner800 Yes you do when you lost your 6th man last year, and the only thing you got going for you was your amazing starting 5. Now you don't have the starting 5 nor the guy coming from the bench. This team just isn't 1st tier contender anymore. It's not so bad. But that was the question, what this means.
If nuggets don’t bring klay Thompson and Westbrook then nuggets are not contenders ,let’s be honest ,get zeke outta here already because of him we couldn’t afford kcp nuggets might tank to and wait for next season for free agent signings I think that’s what they will do
I DONT WORRY .... ....about KCP,he was the weakest link of the starting line up... But why R.Westbrook? Does that means Westbrook will be starting p.g and Murray will be shooting guard? Or will Westbrook come for veterans minimum and that will open salary cap for signing a "proper" shooting guard ? Is it something else? Will Nuggets insert C.Brown into a starting lineup and with that move MPJ on a shooting guard position ? so starting line up will be:Murray -MPJ-Gordon-Brown-Jokic? I am running out of options here, anybody, any suggestions ???
Elevate CB to starting SG. MPJ stays at his SF position. Russ would be our 6th man & run the bench. Theoretically on paper he could slide into the starting lineup next to Jamal in the backcourt. That could possibly be a closing lineup option Malone goes to. But for now we would need russ to just run the bench if we were to get him. He was in the 6MOY running with the clippers last year. A MASSIVE upgrade from Reggie.
@@umutangata To elevate CB to be a shootingguard means that he actually knows how to shoot! With his 42% for 2 and 22% for 3, he is nowhere even close...
@@sasajelisavac5209 he improved from year 1 to year 2 in shooting went from 35% from 3 to 38% and then free throws increased from 63% to 69%. The increased percentages came on increased volume as well, which means he put in real work last summer on his shot. It most likely will take another leap from year 2 to year 3. The volume is still too low, but percentages increasing from rookie to sophomore year is a welcoming sight.
@@umutangata I apologize Umuntagata.... I was looking at his playoff stats, not the regular season...Still,even if his PIE increased ,he was still minus on plus-minus index.. But most of all,his EFF is 9,2... . Now,either he delivers his best performance, raises his EFF for 7 points, and that is a 80% increase ,(!!),to be an average guard in this league ,or he will be out of the league with 9,2 EFF... From 10-15 EFF you are bench player, from 16-20 EFF,you are a starter ... He is 9! For a player that average 20 min per game, that is way below...CB in my opinion should be traded...
If this happens, I'm going to have to question joker's IQ because this is literally the last person you wanted. The team. Someone who shoots bricks who's turnover prone and who has an eco that is beyond apparel. This will be a mistake of all the proportion
We’re getting worse and now they’re talking about Westbrook their is a reason that Westbrook has been bouncing around every team he isn’t a winning player Mike isn’t gonna like his fit
@@Zemlja_je_ravnabetter nothing than Westbrook. You don't understand how detrimental that guy is for team. His shooting split, his interactions with fans, his lack of ball movement, his lack of shooting, his low IQ pit. What are we doing
Sure Im not worried about kcp i swear but Denver becoming a joke...all those contenders add but Denver is still bring rookies and youngers... Pathetic. Trade f mpj and his a$$ contract and give Jamal 38 to 40 mil a year to bring some good player. Oh wait Jamal is 51 52 mil a year we so done done 😂😆🤦🤷
Westbrook is not a team player and makes poor basketball decisions constantly out of self-insecurity (eg, he feels a need to prove his worth). He's also pretty soft on defense and will only get worse as he ages. Nuggets should really try to bring on anyone else except Westbrook. Well except Klay. Westbrook is 3x more valuable than Klay, but that's not saying much. Klay's value is somewhere below an empty seat on the team bus. Nuggets need to find a strong D-first point guard and then move Murray to SG.
First- Jokic is not old, he is in his prime. We have at least 4 great years of him. Second- MPJ going in a right direction, yes, maybe too slow, but he is better every year. Third- Russ will be high motor backup for Jamal. Fourth- Denver have couple of young players to develop. Fifth- Jokic will have decent backup in Daron. Actually, my biggest concern is that Malone will be (again) too stubborn and not play enough young players. Julian, Daron, Tyson, Watson, they all need a lot of playing time to develop.
Westbrook please no , that would be a terrible mistake from the nuggets. Westbrook doesn’t defend and can’t shoot. Also he has a bad attitude and always loses the plot, that is not leadership. Get anyone else but not Westbrick. Just because Jokic makes players better doesn’t means it’s ok to get Westbrook, get someone else and Jokic can make them better.
There’s a difference and it’s a big difference. Lakers Russ was on a max contract. Nuggets Russ would most likely be on a minimum contract. Low risk high reward move for nuggets.
@@umutangata I’d take Reggie at 8 mil over Westbrook for free. He’s going to hurt more than he helps. He has become a bit more humble since the Lakers but he lost his athleticism and isn’t good enough without it
Jokic should leave Denver, Denver's management is a disaster, instead of strengthening the team while Jokic is at his peak, they weaken him, they should have traded MPJ for Markannen as they knew.......
Why won’t Adam say the obvious problem with the team-mpj’s stupid salary. Thats who they need to move on from. Then they could have kept Kcp. I hate being a nuggets fan. Westbrick in Denver would be great though. If Murray gets hurt Russel would, likely be an improvement. 5280 feet with westbrick running could be fun…
Imagen Spurs did this to Tim Duncan or Mavs to Dirk..Jokic should definitely request trade from this BS organization its insane what they are doing to him. Also if they trade for Russ i will definitely stop watching this team its to much for me. FREE JOKIC
