All 4 have had times where it looked like their careers were pretty much done. Being near the bottom makes the top so much more special.

Well, to be fair, Ke says "best thing was seeing this man again", implying they did not really have a lot of contact over the last decades. But who knows.

@@tibormarochini7892 seems like u folks r too young to understand lol 30 yrs ago was the age of phone books, if u didnt exchange phone numbers u may never see the person again... cell phones wasnt really a huge thing yet, they were much more expensive than our iphones and both of them werent even acting or gotten into any major roles... i wouldnt be surprised if they lost contact ... seeing a long lost frd again from 30+ yrs ago and getting oscars together, i would be jumping around like he did

Its like that kid in him from indianna Jones came out. Im really happy for both of them. I would have loved to have seen austin butler win best actor but brendan is my childhood and king of those comedy and action films and he definitely deserves this after the hell he has been through

Pity though that the 2 actors who embody all what Holly wood should/could/would have been are the ones that were shunted by the same industry and represent it the least nowadays. I am a huge fan of both of them for 3 decades now but this was a blip. It will probably never happen again.

Even if they weren't in Encino Man together, I feel like they'd still be this happy for each other. Game recognizes game. These two men have been a huge reason why I've enjoyed this Awards season so much. For me this year, it wasn't about glitz and glamour or a horse race; it was an chance to spend time with & celebrate the kind of character that develops when you endure struggle with grace. I think of the words "we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame.." (Romans 5:3-5) The Oscar wins were just the icing on the cake (and proof that hope does not disappoint!)

100% I remember seeing him on some panel show maybe 5/6 years ago? He was still feeling painfully shy and in full 'imposter syndrome' doubts. And then over the years since he'd appear here and there and you could see he was getting his belief and confidence back a bit more. And now.......this film and its/his undeniable success. AAAND he uses these opportunities to praise the other people he works with and who have helped him. GIVE HIM ALL THE AWARDS!

@Lilli M, movie came out 31 yrs ago, they filmed it in late 91 i believe so thats why they been saying 32 yrs they known each other.

I hope it is not merely a "theme".. and hollywood doing the right thing for a change. It has in some periods produced horrible stuff, there is so much grandstanding.. but this was a good one. This is when you throw politics aside and do what is right

@@ML-yn9yu I love that all the big 4 acting winners are older. They all had careers since the 80s. It’s truly inspiring and uplifting. Best Oscar’s in the last 10 yrs especially after the mess of last year.

Brendan even said, all the nominees have a profound respect for each other and I think that’s with all the categories. This was a welcomed ceremony compared to the dumpster fire of last year and last year’s best actor

The 4 actor/actress oscars were just so perfect... That was a beautiful night, the complete opposite of last year...

@@jedijones I think it was a very tight race for best actor between Brendan, Austin and Collin...if Austin won I would be happy for him because it is a great performance, but I think it could of gone either way

@@jedijones the way the Elvis role was laid out did not allow for much outside of impersonation. Austin did a wonderful job with the limited script/part he was given but the Academy chose wisely. He's going to have more powerful roles in the future and will have more nominations coming his way--he's a talented young dude.

Was just one studio, did both films a2p I think so not a huge studio, and made history, no single studio has ever won all the acting awards at oscars

@@sebrinab.3859 ...it was relateable because unlike other actors who have a comfy hollywood life...these 2 actors were going through issues that hit all of us.

Don't forget he was Short Round in Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom....
