Keanu is an old soul (that's why he is so special) therefore full of tact - so of course he won't say that he wasn't in love with her when she kept on spreading that she was in love with him (he just love her as a friend) even Sandra (of course) didn't see what everybody want to see that was never there for him... Keanu and Sandra are simply not compatible (until now anyway she still haven't reach Keanus maturity and that's what he needs). Sandra is nice though and even sweet, but too much in many ways for a guy like him (check @ 1:37 how she threw herself at him even in a friendly manner that was way too much ... and see how he had to get her of him, and did it like a true gentleman). I mean he is wiser than her, he just knew it from the start, that's why he didn't engage anything over FRIENDSHIP with her... There's many types of love he knows the difference and don't rush into anything. Also when he is into something well it's to the top. The man is just lovable in every way.

I really loved the "Lake House". It pushed both of them to their emotional depths and beyond. Christopher Plummer was incredible as Keanu's father., as he is in EVERY role.
It happened to me, I had a friend for years and he never showed me absolutlely anything like romantic love, and he desapeard and the day beforw my wedding he showed to tell me He was in love with me.... that was the most sad moment for me because I knew he was sad too... yep! We have to express our feelings and dont hide them... life is short and opportunities dont come everyday....

The 1st time I saw this two in speed,I always felt this two had connection ,it was different the chemistry though unspoken was very loud.I have never felt like that between two people in any other movie,it was unnaturally natural.

Oh shoot... that moment at 3:26 -- THAT HITS HARD. It hits just as hard to watch knowing their history. Keanu needing a moment and holding back... that moment was genuine. Personally having been there myself, I know. And talking about it in general, especially when it was more recent is never easy. You could tell there was regret there, Keanu missing Sandra... missing that moment. I've never seen this clip before. But it's intensely evident in that moment it hits him a bit and he has to keep that feeling under wraps. I love both of these actors and I still hope they get together. Their on-screen chemistry is obvious and to know it's reciprocated is unique and special. There were several big on-screen IT couples in the 90s and these two were definitely one of them & one of the best Hollywood movie couples in cinema. Hoping they do another film together. We got Speed in the 90s & The Lake House in the '00s. They are long overdue for another one. And hopefully then, who knows... just maybe they'll be single and that spark within them will light again and when that moment comes, they 'll make up for all lost time, if not before their next film. At any age, those two getting together is worth exploring.

Keanu, the quintessential nice guy, when presented with the information that someone had a crush on them, did not leave the person hanging and said the same in return. It could have just as easily been the most polite thing to say as anything else.

Bullshit....he was married ...got a divorce ... And unfortunately his ex wife died in a car crash a year after the divorce.. That's why he was depressed for a few years..
