Hello my friend, it's been awhile All our old clothes are back in style We went our separate ways only to return To face a lesson we failed to learn We didn't understand the truth We were blinded by the eyes of youth But time kept on moving and a change has come And you think that I don't know where you're coming from Well I feel just like you And I cry just like you But I heal just like you And under my skin I'm just like you You gave your love and your innocence And they took away your confidence Well I'm not those women and I'm not those men Put your arms around me, I am your friend 'Cause I feel just like you And I cry just like you But I heal just like you And under my skin I'm just like You and everybody else When I get hurt I cry for help And I've got secrets that God only knows And God knows I feel just like you And I cry just like you I heal just like you And I breakdown just like you I feel just like you And I cry just like you But I heal just like you And under my skin I'm just like you
The first time I heard this was years ago when my children were in elementary school. They had to read a book titled "Holes". One day I saw the movie in a store and bought it. It was a wonderful movie. It had a secondary story line which starred Dulé Hill. This is where I heard Keb' Mo's song. The scene was very sad. Now, whenever I listen to this song I cry. It is a beautiful song and yes, he is a beautiful human....
Everyone is the same. Love conquers all. Race, religion, or sight. We all breathe the same air and bleed the same red blood. Love one another and be relentless about it.
I first heard this song over 15 years ago and it makes me cry each time I listen . We live on one planet. Why can't we then live as one race. The human race . Keb Mo said it . Under our skin we are one in the same
...and as John McCutcheon sang (in "Christmas in the Trenches"): The ones who call the shots Won't be among the dead and lame And on each end of the rifle We're the same
my mother and I always listened to the CD this song is on in the car and this was ALWAYS my favorite song... tell me how this video only has 590,000 views after being on the internet for 11 years??? so many people missing out on a GREAT person who makes AMAZING music.
Was already loving the song - then came Bonnie, then Jackson and brought on the goosebumps. Such a good hearted song with good hearted folks delivering the message. When will we ever learn?
An ode to our hearts our very humanity our DIVERSITY- all the beauty and true feelings of joy here is overwhelming to the soul, as it should. Our angel Keb...along with another just like US. Harmony sweeet harmony we can be together if we choose. After all were all in this together All face the same struggles-not to let fear win.
I love the message of this song, No matter what gender, age, race, etc. we are all can feel the same as anyone else. how we are similar in more ways than one thinks. how appearance should never change your perspective of another human being
I was brought to see KEBMO At Satelite Lounge in Houston Tx. Next day I bought this album. His music has brought joy to my life as well as my sons and daughters life
First stumbled upon Keb Mo at Bluesfest 12- 14 years ago, as a surprise guest for Bonnie Raitt. He came out all breezy linen on a Humid night. This duet and their 'Home to me' were highlights of the festival...
Music music music 😢😢😢😢 toulouse nan brought me here and i am so grateful to come across this beautiful soul spitting this powerful words trough his incredible voice ❤🇳🇬🇬🇭🇹🇬
The power of film is greater than we give it credit for. So many young kids are listening to this because they heard it on a movie they watched . . . .And they loved it. . . . That's pretty damm awesome I think.
As a fan of so many genres and a musician myself... I really think this is my favorite song. I listen to all sorts of stuff, and my favorite stuff is usually rap/hip-hop, pop-punk, or midwest emo. But this song has been a part of my soul since I was a kid and it still holds up and means that much to me. So grateful it exists.
Hey Keb' Mo', I'll see you at the The Birchmere next year! This is the song that introduced me to your music....was looking for Bonnie Raitt's stuff and this came up. Been a fan for so many years and now I'll see you finally live. This song says it all. We're all alike and I agree.
Saw Keb Mo and Jontavious Willis last night. Jon Willis opened for Keb. Excellent forty-five minute set. Keb followed with almost two hours of great music. Great rapport with the audience. Just a man and his guitar. Rich voice and great playing. Just got his new album "Oklahoma."

Something to embrace this Holiday season. It's about the human race. We gotta learn. All time favorite song. Play it when I am feeling off. Merry Christmas Mr. Mo. Thank you for this song and your talent. You are blessed. Friend.,
He has a new song out with Darius Rucker and I really liked it, but I was like WHY DOES THIS VOICE REMIND ME OF A HOLES SONG, and I checked and alas it was THIS song that he sang lol
While watching Holes the other day . I came across the song and the message was clear . We all are one and the same . This is one of the most beautiful songs I heard . This needs to be spread ON FB I posted so many in need of support for many reasons. This man has a beautiful heart and soul. So many on Social Media are being bullied and put down For no reasons . Stand up and use your VOICE . You might just save a life .We each are responsible for each other for we are all connected .
