I'm 32 and wouldn't date a 20 year old; we just wouldn't be on the same mental level. My friends who have dated older men always complain about their controlling behavior and wanting to manipulate to what they want. Most of the time older men see younger women easier to manipulate to their will. I’m not sure what their relationship is like but I could imagine somewhat of a power dynamic difference between a wealthy man in his 40s than a girl who’s a waiter in her 20s, even if it’s not intentional it will always be there.

@Kenneth the way I see it, it would be more understandable if she was already in her 30’s because at that point, she would have had more time to mature and become more of an “adult” if that makes sense. Usually when you’re 20, you still have a bit of a teen-like immaturity because your brain hasn’t had time to develop. Glad your parents are doing fine, but not all age gap relationships this big do well, especially when one person is under the age of 25.

What's your point? Most relationships in countries that are of western culture don't seem to last even if there is a negligible age gap. People are far too in to themselves to stick things out and make the necessary sacrifices to hold a relationship together.
As someone who has dated and dates older men (I’m 31, to clarify), I have only later on in my life began questioning a man’s desire to date someone who cannot even drunk legally in his country. At 20 years old, we are all still forming the foundations of ourselves that will make up who we are as we grow older. You’ve not quite learned about what constitutes as abuse (psychological or physical). We are cultivating life and human experiences. For a 40 year old man to talk so disgustingly about a young woman is vile and abhorrent because he is already showing her behaviour he thinks is acceptable and it’s going to take a lot for her to realise it’s not. No one should speak about a person that way, especially not a grown man with a child of his own. These men talk about women in such a fucking disgusting way, they ought to be ashamed of themselves.

That rule is somehow actually fairly reliable. There's some numbers where it starts to get weird but for the most part it holds up. Just to be clear, it's not a "rule" but it does generate age gaps that are somehow not into the creep zone.

My husband and I own a small restaurant/donut shop and I can 100% attest to the labor shortage thing. We are struggling so bad right now.... we used to be open 7 days a week. Then it went down to 6. Starting this week we’re going down to 5 😣 all because we just don’t have enough staff. My husband and I both work in the restaurant so it just means we have to work even harder.
