one of the greatest to do it. had to revisit one of my favourite Lo matches, his reaction after the double leg will forever entertain me. Rest in power LO!
This sucks. How did Keenan not get points from taking his back when they were standing? It's because they don't punish you for fleeing the mat. Jiu-Jitsu has a long way to go before it gets anywhere near the level of rule sets that wrestling has,and I love Jiu-Jitsu.
Was pretty funny watching Leandro find the edges of the mat for a good 5 mins straight. I know he's good but damn. They need to penalize guys who spend all their time running away. I get why Keenan got frustrated at the end and left himself open. What the hell, if the dudes gonna run away from me on each reset I'll just hang it out there.
I think that in case of double stalling, whoever is on the inside of the mat shouldnt get a penalty but the guy near the edge should. Its the job of the guy on the outside to come in and attack
This is why Kron Gracie doesn’t compete in this garbage anymore. It’s what Rickson has been talking about. This type of Brazilian jiujitsu competition has become nothing but a game of points like sparring in karate did over the years. It’s sad to me how he celebrates as though he just won some huge victory when he didn’t actually accomplish anything other than gaining a position over his opponent. No submission? Draw.
Anony Mouse so if no one gets knocked out or submitted in an mma fight, it’s a draw? This is a sport, and like any other sport, people will try to WIN. Keenan will try to tie anyone up into a pretzel and if that’s not dominant I really don’t know what is
The Old School jiu jitsu was the Real one. what I saw in the video is not the same one I learned and still learning... jiu jitsu without submission is not a martial art ... unfortunately
While you have some valid points, JJ has never been about submission. Position before submission. It's about control. Do I think the current ibjjf is good? No. Do I think no sub should mean a draw? No.
I think you are missing the evolution of the sport. It isn't as exclusive as at used to be. Now, lots of people know it. On top of that, they know Judo or wrestling as well. It was only 10 minutes long. It Royce Gracie over 15 minutes to get a W on a guy that didn't know jitz, albeit did know judo. So, in a 10 minute fight between two guys that are super high level, then it is what it is. It's not like it used to be. There are submission only comps out there. Sign up and watch the ones you want to watch. If you have Flograpping, Fight2WinPro is the shit!
Saw minimal BJJ from Leandro's part. Unless you're talking about Leandro raping the boundaries and Keenan having to drag him back in bounds off of every reset. I'm not following the whole AJJ trend so can't comment on that, but what I do know is people should be penalized for playing the rules, and should instead focus on actually doing jiu jitsu during a jiu jitsu match.
@@kianbazarjani194 what about keenan lapel guard? The most stalling prone guard ever created? What about keenan vs Meregali he survived via stalling and won... Jiu jitsu it's a game, you gotta play with the ruleset also... Stop crying and go watch gordon
So sad most of these comments. Easy to tell who who really understands BJJ. This points system by the IBJJF is fantastic. Read the rules (ibjjf.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/IBJJF_Rules_Book_v5.1.1_en-US.pdf ) about how it all works and you will change your mind. Learn more about the most dominant positions and manoeuvres, plus the points awarded/penalised for each. This system creates an offence based game where the staller/runner gets penalised, as happened in this match. So not sure why people are complaining. Also, this system creates a chess like environment (highly interesting) due to the hierarchy of positions, manoeuvres etc. Its simplicity is what makes it great. Just take a short amount of time to understand it all. Very dynamic game.
