A rare version of the classic Birmingham City anthem - Keep Right On. Originally thought to be Ali Campbell of UB40 but actually Stephen (Blakey) Blakemore.
my dad Stephen Blake more aka Blakey rip my daddy Ali Campbell shud be ashamed of him self it's clearly not his voice I have the original CD to prove it miss u daddy keep right on blue nose 4 Eva 💯
This is certainly not Ali Campbell!! This is my Uncle Blackey. Blackey from Balsall Heath. Uncle Blackey from Balsall Heath got asked to be part of UB40 back in the day when they were first starting out. But Uncle Blackey didn't agree with the contract terms, so decided to start his own band - Just Us!!! This is who sang this Stephen Blackemore from Just Us - Balsall Heath Origianl!!!! R.I.P Uncle Blackey. Up there Auntie Aisha Mum N Dad and everyone else gone before us!!! Love YOU FOREVER!!! Trevor, Simon, Adam, Stefan and everyone else. Love you!!!! xxxxxxx
I think it was a half hearted attempt really and a bit cheesy in parts but always felt they should have recorded a quality version for the play off or League Cup finals. I don't think the whole band were involved.
who is the actual artist singing this please ,and no it ent nothin to do with ub40 .ive asked all the djs in the pubs when they play it but they say idunno
still no one knows who sang this, ali campbell did say that this would be our year /2011 when we won cup/ . and he promised us a remake of a blues song if we went on to win so where is it ali/ mr blue sky would be nice all reggaed up with astro doing one of his little raps
I don't think they would have been young when they did this as they were amazing in the early days and would never have recorded anything as bad in those days. They could have done a great version if they had spent more time on it.
Not sure! I've had this copy for at least four years now and was assured that it was genuine. Sounds like Ali to me! Maybe he's trying to distance himself from it as it's erm, well, not great!
