Warren Jeffs still is in power and is allowed to contact FLDS members. They have changed their locations, and he moved out his people. Don't stop pursuing him. Monitor his phone calls to church staff and shut him down completely. Share all the info with Canadian authorities.
These men were/are predators. What they did to these young girls/women is atrocious. Where does it say in the bible that Jesus said marrying a bunch of women is okay.
I was in a cult and I enjoyed this documentary. I also enjoyed Prophet's Prey. I still deal with some of the victims from the cult I was in; cults are nearly impossible to escape. You'd need absolute conviction and surreal drive, bordering unattainable. I feel like this documentary did a good job at depicting the psychological struggle; detailing what your leaving behind in your efforts to escape - your fam, friends, inner-circle - gone. Relationships? Gone. Your ranking in the social hierarchy? Gone. Most people would not be able to leave all that behind, whereas I was forced to. I was what the FLDS would refer to as either an apostate, one of the 'Lost Boys' or perhaps the newly coined, "Poofer."

The mother's were given the opportunity to keep their children but because the father's were pedophiles or statuary rapists, due to impregnating the mother's when they were between the ages of 14-17, however one looks at it they could not keep the children around the father's. Though because CPS made some procedural errors the women and children were returned except for the mother's who wanted out they gladly accepted the opportunity to leave with their children.
This isn’t the first time that they have been in trouble for this. Child bride from short creek was a movie (that is on RU-vid) about the raid in the 50s.
I didn't even know the flds existed until I saw the show Breaking the Faith on TLC in 2013!! I can't believe what Warren has put those people through!!! So glad you got out!!!!
