Hi! My name is Christopher Odd and I’ve been playing video games on the internet for a few years. I really enjoy a variety of games but generally lean towards games with a unique and engaging story (Bioshock, The Witcher, etc), strategy/roguelike games (XCOM 2 War of the Chosen, Darkest Dungeon, etc), and RPGs (Dark Souls, Dragon Age, etc). Of course, I am always looking for great indie games too!

Empire of Sin is a new strategy game brought to you by Romero Games and Paradox Interactive that puts you at the heart of the ruthless criminal underworld of 1920s Prohibition-era Chicago. Slip into the shoes of one of the fourteen real and historically inspired mob bosses such as Al Capone, Stephanie St. Clair, or Goldie Garneau and assemble a rag-tag gang, build and manage your criminal empire, and defend your turf from rival gangs. It’s up to you to hustle, charm, and intimidate your way to the top and do whatever it takes to stay there - break a leg!
Roleplay: Choose one of fourteen unique bosses based on fictional and real-world gangsters, then set out to build and manage your criminal empire in Chicago’s infamous Prohibition era.
Empire Management: Build your Empire of Sin and run Chicago’s underworld economy with business savvy, brutality or city-wide notoriety. Strategically manage your establishments such as speakeasies, supply chains, casinos and more.
Turn-Based Combat: Assemble your gang and slug it out in turn-based combat to defend and expand your territory - or send a message to opposing gangs.

Love the setting, but supposedly it's super easy and buggy. Usually the meta score on Steam is a great indicator of quality, and this game has really bad feedback

Zip gun had a better Crit Chance because its range is “point blank.” The single action revolver is a better weapon.

11:14 - "Mo Chara Beag" translates to "My Little Friend". That's a pretty nice touch. Also the mentioning of the Rising - as an Irish person it's nice to see they've done their research.

19:30 - It _looks_ alright, but from a UI design point of view you have to wonder what is the point of those icons, when they're all the same. You still need to read the text to know what each column refers to. The icon is just taking up space, and making each item more similar to the others. I wonder if they had planned to have different icons for "upkeep", "income" and "value" and just ran out of time, so they just repeated the same icon 3x. Several things in the game look rushed or unfinished.

Imagine if this got a sequel game and it was set in 1980s Miami I’m losing my mind at just the thought Weapons that were invented by the 80s are pretty advanced, imaging playing the game with an rpg or an Ak47? That would be amazing along with all the venues you could open. Drug labs, strip clubs, dance clubs, a mansion for a safe house maybe, car dealerships, and other ventures like that

@@rabidlemur42 It's a Hurley, it's what hurleys use to look like. A shillelagh looks alot different, it's made from a different wood and usually has a large knob at the end

Ohh im seriously into wanting this badly. It's announcement was my inspiration for my racketeer character i played in the Warhammer Fantasy Roleplaying campaign i was in. Went for the whole 1920s accent and all. Full criminal underworld approach. So looking forward to this game.

Started playing about a sparingly about a month or two ago. Picked back up again because I wasn’t satisfied with my gameplay. I’m loving this game! You point out the things that I really enjoy about it. I enjoy RTS games and this is one of my favorites.

Am I the only one who finds it strange that Frankie's back story is that he fought in the Irish uprising but he wears a broach which seems to be a copy of the cap badge of The Royal Irish Regiment? (a regiment in the British Army which he supposedly rebelled against)

You realize that when you kill the boss that his people use both actions to flee for the door? Executing the boss means his minions use everything the have to escape the combat. The combat continues, with them fleeing...

Another fabulous story narrated by Mr. Odd, can't wait for the journey to unfold. If I could be a mobster, i'd go with...Lil' Louie, the built like a brickhouse mama's boy with pin striped pants, tank top, and suspenders who carries around a banged up Louisville slugger. Hence the nickname. If I could name a building/business...Cannoli's Smokeshop, a delightful pairing of the Italian staple dessert and every mobsters favorite medicine: the cigar. Of course it has its back room for underground card games, and money laundering.

It might've been a good idea pick light footed, since your character tends to charge in and beat people with a stick. Survivor on the other hand is only useful if you you somehow end up in a situation where your boss gets taken out but everyone else still left standing. Honestly think this is unlikely considering the fact that your boss has the highest health.

Frankie's "club" is called a hurley or hurl, and it's the implement used in the Irish sport of hurling. I'm playing as Frankie as well, and I absolutely love it! He's a great character.
