I'd rather have maple or walnut on my high-end look maybe even mahogany.. either way these do work for the price. I prefer My method though. for your getting started chef kit this is for you. I'm actually very good with a teacup and a leather belt to keep my cooking knives where they should be. If they get real bad I got some badass whetstones "not for beginners" but there's only one way to start and that's to get started! Keep everything Sharp!
You’re right. The reviews weren’t great and the owner of the company redesigned the sharpener based on those negative reviews. Hopefully, the new design will perform much better over the long run.
I saw another RU-vidr review a HORL rolling sharpener. It works great at first, but once you start getting some mileage on it, it takes longer and longer to get your knife sharp.
