The tricks I've found for making drum solo's last for ever is build it up. Start off groovy as hell, throw in a few kinda basic groovy fills then move round the the toms and just build it up so it starts groovy then ends with you playing as many notes as you possible can before slowing down and if the rest of the band are with you(If applicable) Que them all to come back in with a specific fill which is pretty much the same every time, I've done this a few times made a solo last about 3-5 minutes using this method and it was great. Also Cowbell... Lots of Cowbell!
people like you who use the word underrated have no understanding of Queen music. You think because you never listen to it or search for it on youtube it is...but as any normal Queen fan in the know will tell you...it isn't...so shut up.
@stev ano stev and bob. I agree with you. Some fans do not know these songs so they call them “underrated” keep yourself alive is not really underrated but I think you mean it’s underrated Compared to songs like bohrap or we are the champions. Which in that case @extreme Andy. You’d be right but calling this song underrated is a lie and complete rubbish. I’m a real QUEEN fan, hell I have like 4 t shirts a hoodie like 10 cds a vinyl record of news of the world. And 4 Queen live shows on dvd/blu ray and I have a bunch of stuff I ordered on iTunes. I just told you that so no one can call me a “fake fan” in which this case @ExtremeAndy. You may say you are but as to you’re knowledge, you listen to the greatest hits albums.....I very much so, Doubt you Have sat down and listened To Queen’s self titled Debut album QUEEN (1973). And besides look at how many times it’s been streamed, yes it did gain a bit more popularity in 2018 due to the bio pics release, and soundtrack release.but it’s always been a popular song. I hate when “”FANS”” say that songs of Queens are underrated. Sure some are but it’s getting to the point where I see people posting on stuff. like I actually saw a comment that said we are the champions is underrated......let that sink into your mind. So stop this shit, please. For us Real Queen fans...
Who can resist this Queen great performance on stage ? Thank you for your great work ! What a display of our beloved Freddie throughout the years ! I do not care i am better every day … even two steps nearer to my grave … I just love to sing this song along with this greatest band !
Roger es una topadora!!!!! Tanta belleza y talento en una sola persona.!!!!!!!!!!Es un regalo para los ojos, oídos, etc Roger,💜💜💜💜💜 te amo rubio precioso!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is fantastic! And I appreciate all the work you put into it. I've been a Queen fan since the release of their 1st album, & really love this song. Great band. Great music. Great editing. Great video. Thank you!💙
why is it underrated? People use this word all the time with no understanding of it. It was a major hit for the most popular band ever and is still played today...so what the fuck do you mean?
This is Awesome! Masterful editing. I have some collections of different versions of certain songs over the years, but not the talent to piece them together like this. Love it if you gave the same treatment to : 'Save Me', 'In the Lap of the Gods', 'Doin' All Right', 'Too Much Love Will Kill You', 'White Queen', 'Now I'm Here', 'Play the Game', 'Killer Queen', and most especially, 'Seven Seas of Rhye".
I especially love the parts at 1:24 and the little dialogue at 4:54... and my God I live for Brian May's guitar work like 2:28. You really got a good sense of timing clips like these! I only very recently discovered this song, and this is the perfect reminder to binge it again for hours. I do wonder: do you edit with Sony Vegas Pro? And if so, do you disable resample? I spot some ghosting in the video, but I don't know if it's from the original source or from how the editing software treated the clips. In any case, thanks for making this :)
Haha you're always the first one to comment, I appreciate it. Anyway I do edit on vegas pro, and actually up to this point I had no idea there was such a thing as ghosting, amateur much. What you saw may be ghosting but shall we not forget that half of these clips are really old and have many fade in/fade outs which can look like ghosting. Anyway thanks for your feedbabk, the whole idea of these "through the years" video is to show how great a song is, and how/if it changed through time, and in this case it has a wide range (1973-1985) so you can really see how each member changed, especially Freddie, from thin, shaved face, long haired with black nails, to muscular with mustache and short hair. Btw, do you have facebook/email/anything that can assist me get in touch with you on private? I see that you upload videos yourself and I have a few questions about it, if you don't mind of course.

All I can say is WOW and THANKS! This is an amazing video. I Love this song and is one of my favorite Queen songs. I agree that it is very underrated. You did an amazing job with the editing of this. Thanks again❤️
Tal: Once again, you've made a great "through the years" video. If I didn't watch it, I'd think I just heard a 5:31 minute song that I love. Your work is fabulous. Keep it up. I look forward to when a "through the years" video is available to see. It must be hard work to listen to Queen over and over again!😉
Had a great time watching this and going back to rewatch different time spots that others remarked upon. You did your usual knock us over with greatness kind of job! ALso enjoyed your introduction immensely!
