I've had to umpire a bit of cricket. I never once looked at where the keeper was going. If the keeper had as good a view as I did then I'd be standing next to him. If the ball straightened the keeper probably didn't see it as they were blocked by the batter. If the ball swung in the keeper can be correctly going down leg to a ball that's hitting middle. If the ball is smashing into the middle of leg stump the keeper will be going down leg a bit because that's where the angle takes it.

Discovered this channel a few weeks ago, now watched almost all the vids, hope you guys clinch the league. Hope my favourite player, the Grin Ripper wins player of the season too. ❤

Pretty embarrassing from the oppo keeper. As a league wicket keeper for many years, i only appealed when it was actually out - quite often a bowler went up and i didn't, so when i did go up, umpire knew to have a bloody good look at it. Tooe asy for the ump to turn everything down if you're appealing for everything.

Great entertainment guys. As a former player and now unpire, the quality of cricket is better than test level

My donkey of the week nomination are the opening bowler for Walton for not having longer hands and the umpire in the blue top. Guy just doesn't know cricket rules and incensed the opposition wicket keeper. Nice win for the side though. 4 to go, might be champions.

The off spinner from the far end who bowled Stuart chucks it. It seems to me that chucking is now allowed in cricket for spinners. I also genuinely think that there's nobody in their team who has an IQ over 70

I l@@k forward every week to another exciting episode and have done for awhile now. I miss playing and this helps fill the village cricket void in my life. Having said that, i don't miss umpiring...not at all. You play away somewhere, you're handed an umpires coat to wear that hasn't been washed since 1976 (no thanks) and put up with all sorts of hostility, but you do your stint, only then for so called team-mates to mysteriously disappear when its there time to replace you. I wonder why! In life i find decision making difficult, so i was a very indecisive umpire which actually seemed to work out very well...i hardly ever made a decision about anything! Batsmen tended to be annoyed if i was more than generous letting a bowler off with a wide...but they seemed a lot happier when i'd turn down a strong lbw appeal next ball. Just l@@k like you know what you are doing AND make sure you can count to 6...bad umpires only count up to 5...or 7! Come on Walton 🏏

Btw Bison, just cuz keeper moved down legside doesnt make it not out, they usually do it as they field offside of the stumps, so if the ball goes towards the stumps, natural movement is to align yourself which would naturally mean moving legside, some of those LBW’s were quite out to be honest

Full tosses getting LBWs should be illegal in my eyes. It's rank bowling and doesn't deserve to be rewarded with LBWs.

How is the fair play league worked out? Does each team fill in a form or something about the opposition? Still one of the best laughs each week watching your videos. Keep it up.

Lbw shout made me remember how angry I was Saturday after getting torched by a teammate firing me to a big hooping in swinger that started at first slip and hit me half way down the pitch in front of leg. Out apparently. Last game of the season. Rageeeeee

I’m adamant some of the LBWs you didn’t give were definitely out, but they also seem an awful bunch of lads so balanced out in my eyes 🤣

I umpired for several seasons at a pretty decent level and having gone to several conferences at Lords, you get a chance to put yourself against the Hawkeye technology they use for Sky. What is clear is that about 80% of appeals for lbw simply CANNOT be out-I umpired with a South African former 1st class player who rarely gave lbw and got into some serious arguments with bowlers about it. you’re dead right in that unless it’s hitting middle you don’t give it. It’s a very small target area and chances are any serious movement is going to make it miss. It’s an old saying but if you get forward there’s very little chance of being lbw because it’s a matter of maths and physics that will determine it’ll miss. At a higher level bowlers are faster and get batsmen stuck on the crease thereby increasing the chance of lbw. At this lower level you cannot expect amateur players to give test match quality decisions which is what a lot of players seem to want. And btw regarding the keeper advancing towards an umpire ? That could (depending on context) be classified as a Level 3 offence and that is serious time off for bad behaviour

We are in a higher division yet our track is never a track, more like mud, you tell me how that makes sense.

What do your league rules state about implementing Law 42? Player conduct. In my book, that keeper has cost his team a bunch of penalty runs for repeated level 1 offences

Well done Walton Le Wolds. Can be hard to focus on playing when some oppo players are like that. Some teams make playing cricket sh!t. No wonder they are bottom of fair play. But I’ve played against worse. One team went on to win the league and were still be a total bunch of c@nts. Life is just that.

Can I ask, what is the point of the fair play league? Do teams get deducted points for where they finish in that league? And with no league umpires what’s to stop teams from just blatantly saying that other teams aren’t abiding by playing fairly? Clearly being bottom of the fair play league is having no affect on individuals/teams so what’s the point in it?

If a team have a reputation for cheating then you give them absolutely nothing, making them bat first takes their cheating out of the game to some extent as you can level up anything they do in the first innings.

Sorry but either the umpire in blue doesn’t know the rules or he’s a cheat, I suspect the latter

Why do you keep mentioning "the keeper was moving down the leg side" that has nothing to do with your decision,your decision is based on the ball,if the ball was going to hit or be around leg stump the keeper WOULD HAVE TO MOVE DOWN THE LEG SIDE otherwise he wouldnt be able to take it in is normal position of outside offstump !! To take a ball outside off stump the keeper would normally be just outside off stump to take a ball hitting leg the keeper would have to be on or just outside leg stump therefore meaning he would have to move down the leg side from his original position,you then go on to mention the rules about wides,cricket has LAWS not rules,the only bad umpiring I saw on this video was from yourself but you still wanted to make out the opposition was cheating, also when umpiring why are you wearing a coloured shirt !!!
