I've collected all the braeburns from the ground before tonight's frost spoils them. They taste exactly like peach ice tea. Never thought I would be so interested in my Braeburn tree.
It's a weird one, it looks clean and obviously has a good shelf life but I've never been impressed with it except for these super late peachy flavoured ones. I wouldn't recommend people in the UK grow it, it'll never really ripen and you can grow better varieties, also if you like them you can buy them 365 days of the year in the shops.
Yes. You can tell it would be an excellent apple for people who like that sort of thing. Unlike granny smith, for instance. I prefer something much less acidic, but still interesting. Hopefully the freyburg I bought from you a couple of years ago will produce something this year. 🤞
