Love late season apples! Fuji are fantastic!!! Now I gotta try a golden knob, Sam young, Sturmer pippin, Merton russet...etc etc

Yes golden knob tastes really good, reminds me of festive warming spiced apple baked goods, but with a good crisp texture.

We see why Appy is also called Ladies Apple - you can bite it delicately like a lady would. 💁🏻‍♀️

I've collected all the braeburns from the ground before tonight's frost spoils them. They taste exactly like peach ice tea. Never thought I would be so interested in my Braeburn tree.

Maybe it would make a nice cider apple if picked very late in the season?@@keepersnurserykarim

Braeburn is not great in NZ either..

It's a weird one, it looks clean and obviously has a good shelf life but I've never been impressed with it except for these super late peachy flavoured ones. I wouldn't recommend people in the UK grow it, it'll never really ripen and you can grow better varieties, also if you like them you can buy them 365 days of the year in the shops.

It's a consistent cropper, the apples are attractive, juicy and crisp but the flavour could be better.

ive read that red falstaff are self fertile but are better with a polinator

@@davidalmond9334 yes that is one of it's big selling points, it will have a better crop planted with a pollinator

Well done. I think Topaz tastes of lemon (a bit earlier in the season, maybe!), if that helps you describe anything. Like Topaz, for instance. 😁🤣

Yes it is lemony, it's such a nice looking apple I wish it was slightly sweeter.

Yes. You can tell it would be an excellent apple for people who like that sort of thing. Unlike granny smith, for instance. I prefer something much less acidic, but still interesting. Hopefully the freyburg I bought from you a couple of years ago will produce something this year. 🤞

Freyberg is an excellent apple! Great choice

Plenty of varieties to choose from for a late cropper.

Yes if it doesn't get too cold a lot of varieties hang on the tree or can be picked off the ground in very good condition.
