I love Chance. It was my first designer fragrance and it is by far one of the most complimented perfumes I wore. I think it has to do with how it wears on your skin. Please do Armani next ❤
Funnily enough, Chanel mademoiselle was what made me fall in love with perfumes and it was the first scent I bought myself. Moreover, I hated and still hate ysl scents, all libre, mon guerlain and black opium lines are not something I would want to wear, I always found them disgusting. That being said I totally get what you mean by outdated scents, I do not like Chanel no 5 either but man mademoiselle, chance and gabrielle are my guilty pleasure
I agree with you. It does give auntie vibes. The only Chanel fragrance I have is Chance Eau Tendre. It's musky and I really like it. I got my mom Chanel no 5.
The Bleu De Chanel line has been my signature since the EDT. But I agree YSL is a great recommendation. I have more YSL frags than anything in my rotation.
The same advice can be applied when talking about Dior, Tom Ford, high end independents and almost all niche brands. Also, many other kinds of products...watches, for example. Most non-collectors don't care about watches and don't know watches with the exception of a few of the most popular Rolex and maybe a couple others. You could have a Patek Phillippe World Time on your wrist, and practically no one will know/care.
I wear Chanel for my moods/myself! #5 pulls for the comforting Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo scent on my skin. Sycomore has the most gorgeous Vetiver. Le Lion is a gorgeous, sticky labdanum love and Coromandel is white chocolate and patchouli heaven. Today, I happen to be wearing Coco Noir and it’s comforting and cozy. I have mostly niche in my 100 bottle collection, but appreciate Chanel!
Prada actually got me into the fragrance game with Prada L'homme. Then soon after got Amber Pour Homme. I think Prada is a safe house to start with because they just make super clean scents
Chanel, Guerlain and Dior are the best houses. They are the real quality and they are the leaders in perfume world. They are always try to come with something new. 90 percent of the other niche and designers houses are copying these 3.
Melissa I've been following your channel for a while. Great work. I agree chanel has its place. I personally have and love Blu de chanel but literally I've never gotten a compliment when wearing it but it makes me feel like a classy gentleman. However, I did buy thr new ysl myself and everyone has loved that on me. So I think your opinion is very on point. Also chanel is expensive af! Great video as always.
Hey, curious to hear your thoughts on a some fragrances I'm considering getting Bleu de Chanel (EDP) - default La Nuit de L'homme (EDT) - datenight Blue Agave (new) - summer, versatile but sophisticated Cedrat Boise - colder months, versatile, sophisticated Would you make any suggestions to this line-up? I'm likely not going to do an Aventus, SMW, or an Elysium because of their price tags. I'm just trying to hit the important areas for fragrances. I think I might need some suggestions on a winter fragrance tho.
❤🙋 I like Chanel Chance fragnance it's smell very pretty. I'm a big fan of few Estee Lauder Fragrances(Beautiful/Pleasure/Beautiful Belle/Beautiful Magnolia) but don't purchased Estee Lauder Youth Dow Fragrance that smell is super strong, it's fragrance is much more stronger that Chanel No. 5 Fragrance ever.
Interesting, I don’t like Chance I find it really annoying. I’ve never found Mademoiselle to smell mature, to me it smells younger and beautiful. No.5/Coco do smell more mature but I can appreciate the skill involved.
U know u cute don’t u?? I just got into leather fragrances and my wife is like waaaay into ombre leather which is great. So anyways if u have any other suggestions leather and/or tobacco my wife is on it!!
I was actually going to comment that most of their stuff isnt that expensive in relation to designer fragrances- except the les exclusifs line. Absolutely jacked up prices for no reason, and they only have the EDP reformulations now which most people agree are kinda wack versions of their original EDT counterparts. I do agree coromandel is great, so is 22, but neither is worth the price- A. Bc 8ts just exclusivity for exclusivities sake, and B. Bc everything in that line used to actually be much better. I have some bottles of 22 but for coromandel i just but a good dupe...
In my country, their prices are bordering niche territory (excluding the Exclusifs lineup). Considering that it’s “illegal” for retailers to sell less than RRP, you might be getting a better deal from other houses.
Realy cant wait until you get your nose on the Private Chanel collection and not the nonsense sold in malls/Sephora. would love to hear your take when you do
I don’t know but when I like a fragrance I try to keep it a secret …don’t you feel like keepin those precious scents for yourself like Tuxedo , Salte & Pepper etc.
Definitely sample it first, it’s not one that works for everybody. For fragrances that you’d wear on similar occasions, I would recommend Le Male Le Parfum or Gentleman Reserve Prive as other options to consider 💪
Absolutely sample first and although anyone can and should wear whatever they want, In my OPINION, Dior Homme Intense is suited to people more 30+. It's not a youthful fragrance.
lol. I just started to discover some Chanel fragrances that I actually like. I got free samples of it with some of my makeup orders 😂 To me, prior, they’ve always smelled too soapy so I never liked them. I’ve found two I like now though. My problem is that they don’t last at all. They literally disappear after 4 hrs on my skin at least. My husband wears Bleu and has done so for many years. I love the smell of it. But, I totally agree with you - buy a perfume based on if you like the scent not the brand. Buying because of the brand seems stupid and quite weird to me😊
