A wise teacher of mine referenced the bible (casting pearls before swines), to remind us to use discernment with whom we chose to share wisdom and how much, not just because not everyone is ready for certain wisdom in that moment, but to also help us "keep" the power of the wisdom within ourselves rather than allowing it to dissipate if shared without discernment (my words). It's like blowing out your Birthday candles and keeping your wish a secret an ancient technique reinvented

As an artist, l found in the early 2000's, that painting my inner desires the objects ended up creating or manifesting that desire.

When i keep something close to the chest, it holds more power...which is why i can't talk about what i am manifesting and why i MUST speak out and name my fears. When my fears are spoken, they lose power.

I keep my silence because some knowledge is dangerous in the wrong hands.

Thoth says this isn't MAGIC, it's WISDOM! I really needed to hear this. I have learned, experienced, seen and manifested so much in the past 5 years it's unbelievable and really hard to keep it all bottled up. I get excited and wanna share it with any and everyone who asks how am I doing, along with sharing my current endeavors. HUGE, HUGE MISTAKE in sharing your endeavors, even with those whom you love and trust. But I have this savior complex. I want people to experience and acquire the same things I have and more. I wanna let people know that this same power is within everyone. But when you talk to others about it, "your endeavors" the power dissipates. It weakens or change its course. This is why people love to talk to others about their problems because the problems, the feelings that you get somehow seem to fade away, and we don't realize that this power works the same way with what you intensely concentrate on when focusing on your endeavors. KEEP SILENT PLEASE. Silent within yourself and when it comes to sharing with others!!! The bible says you should commune with yourself "the Lord". I noticed that once I become silent and focused, it comes into fruition much easier and quicker. "Concentrated energy"

Whenever planning a trip overseas if I tell everybody about it it completely falls apart and I can't go, had this happen 5 times. But when I keep my mouth shut until a few days before getting on the plane it goes ahead.

A true Magician is loyal to the roots of wisdom. Magic always takes care of those who dare disrespecting its wisdom. In open mouths, flies will thrive.

We are all magicians, knowingly or not.

Great video. I've always used the petri-dish analogy. Manifesting a desired outcome is like growing bacteria in a petri dish. Your initial idea, is the strain of bacteria that you introduce to the dish. The energy you put into it, is you feeding it. The analogy covers both the idea of silence, and the idea of waiting patiently for the end result. Telling others about your working, is like letting them open up the petri dish and touch the experiment - introducing their own competing strains of bacteria in the process, and potentially ruining your experiment. Similarly, checking your own working too often, or inserting doubts like "Why isn't it working yet?" is like constantly opening your petri dish to check on the growth. You might get away with it sometimes, but each time you open the dish, there's a danger of some foreign bacteria getting in there. Better to do introduce the idea, give it sufficient energy, and then avoid disturbing it too often.

The last point you mention: It is easier to talk about something than to achieve it... That made me realize why it's impossible for me to use affirmations or wishlists, or "dream boards." It's too easy for me to make perfect plans and never follow them through. Talking about dreams, even to yourself, distracts from the present. Thanks so much for pointing that out.

Thanks Denis, the other reason I personally feel silence is more important is, whatever your intentions are, people will always misinterpret and worst it's the same as casting pearls before swine. A useless and dangerous endeavour, dangerous in this age not because of being set fire too, but because it taints your personal belief and gives room for doubt to creep in.

I’ve read about egregor energy. It’s like wishful thinking technique. If you say to a person, who doesn’t like you, about your goals, it can dismiss the effort. But if shared with a person, who likes or loves you, it will get energy boost.

I've many times felt bad about keeping silent. Part of me wants to share the excitement I'm feeling about the things I'm creating, but I also have experienced that "expectation" or judgement that comes with revealing my intentions.

It is important to never talk about your practices to anyone, because you open yourself up to other peoples scrutiny.

The Hardest part about teaching people about this, is that they want answers to THEIR journey from another person. Its not hard to understand that I cant read a book I should not open. To anyone reading this, Take Magic as a metaphysical concept an idea that is given power through your intent and understanding. No one can teach you this, simply due to the fact they will never know what its like to be you. Your perceived struggles, pains, desires and passions. Your connection to the world or the people in your life. Magic has had a few names, your Path, your Dao, whatever name you give it. Some Draw, others Sing, hum a tune or read the bones and feel the earth. To let their mind run free and let something real take form. The flicker of a candle the sound of the wind, in Whatever way it manifests I hope you have a profound experience like I have had.

The Thoth deck hahaha I was a person that was excited to share everything as so much was happening at once. I then had an intense out of body meditation where I was told by someone close to Thoth (I can’t say who) the important of secrecy. And that if I need to take this path I have to remember that the only way to make it “sacred” is through “secrecy”. Crazy how much powerful I’m becoming since and how much more in love with these teaching I am since it’s something FOR ME only. Everyone’s initiation is different, don’t take anyone’s rules or path on what needs to be done for YOU to walk that path. If it’s meat for you, it will find you. Forcing initiation is an ego trap hence why we have a lot of egotistical teachers.

not everyone is supposed to learn it, it's not being selfish or "gatekeeping". but outside influence especially by people who see the world as is with very poor imagination they will dim YOUR light so while your failed attempts at giving them knowledge of freeing themselves doesn't even help them it breaks YOU in the process and cages you just like the rest of them. people don't want different. very few people do; some don't understand it and it's not your job by any means to explain anything.

Many Native American tribes believed in "dreams of power", and held that such dreams must not be shared with others for at least a certain length of time, at minimum. To share it with others somehow dilutes its power. Their shamans believe that such dreams, and the power they bring to the Dreamer, must be allowed to "cook" for the full benefit to be obtained. Failure to do so may result in a loss of power, and even some kind of "spiritual backlash" or a turn of bad luck (a "magickal backfire", from a Western perspective). What we call "magick" in the West mostly boils down to an attempt to dream reality in a desired direction whilst awake, by breaking down the partition between the waking and the unconscious mind. Same principle, no?

I have seen Magick as a way of self transformation. The great work as it pertains to individuation. I’ve learned from stoicism that the outer world is out of our control so I focus only on the inner. Paradoxically once you realize that outcomes are in the hand of fate and you can only truly control your reaction to it. Suddenly you have power over the situation. Great video as always. Silence or secrecy I've recently learned due to things not happening as planned. For those who can understand....we were created to be hated so chose what you say and to whom wisely. Misery loves company. We are too valuable to give our energy away. Stay blessed everyone!

This is an excellent discussion about the importance of silence. Since you've requested comments about other reasons for why silence is important, I'd like to mention one that to me seems to actually be one of the most important reasons for silence. Keeping silent requires discipline and developing that discipline goes hand in hand with building the discipline required for study, for ritual practice, for silencing the mind, and for keeping one's ego in check. I also believe that breaking silence take our internal energy and power and releases it into the world. Keeping silence builds discipline but it also contains that power and energy within ourselves so that we can direct it to our magickal practice, making it that much more powerful.

Fantastic video. Another thing to note: silence helps to keep something sacred. So if a secret (such as the ceremonies and symbols of a magical lodge) is kept secret, it becomes sacred if it is held in that light by the members. Even if the symbol or ceremony has no significance to the world at large, secrecy turns it into a sort of sacred secret or tradition that holds a level of energy because of that sacred energy that is maintained.

I learned that sharing some secrets is like giving someone your "true name" you lose your power

There is also another reason to keep silent. To keep your time to yourself... We need lots of time to study the ritual, to read the books, to do the necessary inner work, to commune with the other beings etc... If you start to talk about this you will quickly find out how this eats away from the time you put to your Magick. It's fine to talk about it with genuinely interested people occasionally; but otherwise you simply don't have the time or the inclination to do so. When I was young, there was a popular children's character called Tom the cabin boy (in Captain Pugwash). He was the most resourceful but unacclaimed character, and whenever he accomplished something amazing, the narrator always said, Tom the cabin boy smiled and said nothing. Never mind magick, it's just good advice in general. YOU know who you are. That's all.

Keeping silence is also about knowing when to talk and when not to. Using your energy to its utmost and not sabotaging ourselves through revealing what is before it takes form, in a sense “don’t talk of worlds that never where” or in other words say what you mean and mean what you say. We may say something yet not have the intentions to truly do it and by talking we assume the pride of achieving without actually achieving. Know what it is that needs to be said and say it at the right time, wisdom is the profound spoken simply and conveyed without confusion.

Not sure how I ended up here, but I'll leave a comment: I was told to keep it silent (although I kinda blew it a bit with my animated series). Still, another reason to keep silence that you might not have talked much about is to not break the illusion for people who need the illusion. I think one reason why this needs to be hidden from the mainstream is because for the majority of humans in this planet, this would simply be a distraction to their true purpose in this life. Some people need to believe the illusion is real to have the experiences they need. Can you see why on the movie Matrix, telling everyone about the Matrix would be a terrible idea? There are many examples, but to give one, imagine that you came to this life looking for an experience where you need to mistakenly think your loved one is dead, so you can test how you will react to that fake news. Will you kill yourself or learn to overcome the feeling of hopelessness? But then, through magic you learn that your loved one is actually alive, completely blowing away the test that you had planned for yourself to learn about yourself. To avoid breaking the illusion, some spirits shut down their ears completely to the occult knowledge. They might even get physically aggressive if you try to tell them something, and it's their right to preserve that illusion. We need to respect that. The knowledge is there only for those who seek with their hearts.

The biggest secret is about spirituality. Everything we have become to know and understand about spirituality is a fallacy. Simply look at what’s dominating spirituality. Tesla knew this. He gave us hints. He been quoted saying; and I’m paraphrasing of course: to discover the secrets to the universe understand 369. 3 includes:the 1st 3 dimensions and part of the fourth. 3 also represents the consciousness or conscious plain. 6 includes: 4th, 5th, 6th of course and part of 7. This also represents the subconscious. 9 includes all dimensions (the power of 9). This represents the collective consciousness. If you control what information that is placed into the conscious realms, you can control the world. Create a hive mind. Kind of what you see today as we hold our phones in our hands and stare at the world created for us by a handful of people on the planet.

There is a difference between: To Keep Silent (adverb) vs To Keep Silence (noun)

I think that rule of silence is golden. Every person has their own journey that's only for them. If everyone had all the keys to every door would they open them or resist the temptation? I am proud to be a witch but don't tell people I work with my practice nor do I open my books up to others. The journey to acquire any magical knowledge is a lifetime and what you learned should stay with you only. I totally get the lower self reminded the higher to eat,take a bath,ect. And silencing the mind so demons do not enter is a must! I learned that one the hard way. I found this video to be exactly what I needed today. I really enjoyed it thank you.

This has been food for thought, because when I was permitted to be initiated to the inner mysteries, I could change the world by using my voice to speak truth with full disclosure and transparency....been stuck in here since at least 2017, so y'all on your own, guys.

Great video! Taking me back to my teenage years when I started studying this stuff. Happened to find out my mom studied it at one point & had some helpful books to lend me.

This is definitely something I have wondered about for along time also I apprecciate how you explained how talking about plans can be harmful, I never knew about the endorphin aspect of it.

I have heard - and we might say experienced - that the energetic climate is such that more complex rituals and paraphenelia are no longer required (if they ever were. I suspected expensive items were listed as required for demon invocation to keep the serf class outside of magick).

Regarding the quantum mechanics mention, yes! I tried to tell some people on reddit they shouldn't tell everyone what their desired manifestations were because then strangers would all be throwing their energy (which may be highly contrasting or negative) at their manifestation, which could shake or delay it if they weren't 💯 solid on what they were drawing. It was the most down voted comment I've ever posted. 😂😂

You had responded to a comment that I made on another video and directed me to the Esoteric Saturday series. This video answers most of my question but also points to a path of uncovering the rest. I am so happy to find someone who can speak clearly and frankly about this topic as the answers are often hidden by the silence. However the silence is equally important to the process and self discovery and personal experience rise as the ultimate answer pointing the way.

Such a wonderful and very thorough analysis of the fourth word of the Magus. Your endorphins reason makes perfect sense and has made me realize what could be the main reason why people gossip! The main reason that I have attributed to abiding to the fourth word "to be silent" is because I do not want to put the energy of the magical work into dissipation, which would happen by people talking about it, therefore, the energy stays directed and focused on its course to fulfill the will. I don't think that much effort to protect the secrets are required necessarily because most people intentionally or unintentionally (depending on how you look at it) ignore or don't understand the information being provided to them. In these circumstances, ignorance is bliss. Usually the Rule of Three takes care of the ill doers who want to abuse such information.

I feel so satisfied when listening to your knowledge and teachings. I’d like to have Esoteric Saturdays near by me with people. Life would be so much more deep and exciting

I keep mostly silent about my practice. The main reason is that while I know what it is I do and believe, it is very difficult to put into words for uninitiated folk, even for people just getting into the occult and know a little already. So much so that I usually preface each discussion about my practice with the phrase, "How much time do you have?" or "How interested are you in hearing me ramble?"

You got right to the heart of it with “...information is not experience...”. This is SUCH a wise analysis of not just the topic of your video here, but the entire cultural dissonance we’ve all experienced with the rising of The Internet and quickened by smart phones. Edit: “...decoration of the ego...” another gem! So good! And delivered in a way that’s easy to receive. So great!

So I've spent the better part of a week, typically before bed but lately just during the day when I have time, watching your videos. I just want to thank you for producing what I have to say is the most easy to understand explanations for things regarding magic and mysticism that I've ever encountered. The way you describe things has led me to have quite lot of "oh wow!" moments as so much has finally been made clear to me that I just didn't understand at all before. I really appreciate your method of teaching this material. I've understood there to be some sort of power in willing or "praying" for a future probability to come into into reality for a long time as I too have had some experiences in life that I felt like came from my energy put out into the ether. It's only been through your videos though that I see so much logic in some of the rituals and meditation in putting the mind in a better state to transmit/receive that flow. I'm considering finally attempting to put into practice some of what I've seen here and not just being a casual observer anymore.

New to your channel, love it. Very concise. From a practicing Magi's point of view you have shown Mazda.

The finger to the lips of child deities symbolized youth and the fact that from a cognitive development perspective, children are more open to absorbing and understanding symbols and meaning than older folks whose minds are less open or willing to accept new things. This is why it is much easier for children to learn languages at an early age. Also, children often put their fingers in their mouths and this does't imply anything about silence or secrecy. So from an esoteric perspective the idea is that an open mind like a child is the only way to be able to truly grasp deeper meanings associated with various symbols. This goes along with the whole development and evolution of writing from picture based symbols thousands of years prior to Greece. And as such it is an evolution in cognitive function and understanding in being able to ascribe meaning first to symbols, then to sounds and then to letters which are simplified symbols for alphabets and grammar which have less layers of meaning than the old pictograph writing systems. The Greeks then used that as the basis for Harpocrates as part of the Hermetic system which was an aberration of the ancient system in the Nile Valley as writing was no no longer based on pictograms and thus layers of meaning were no longer obvious in religious and cultural contexts. Whereas in the ancient Nile Valley everyone understood that there was "magic" in everything and this was part of the cosmology and the symbolism of the writing and the purpose of rituals was to evoke that. Whereas in the GrecoRoman era there came the rise in orthodoxy in religion and ritual which strictly limited the expressions of "magic" in ritual and cultural expression, especially into the Medieval era. Hence, secrecy became a thing. Hence what was a normal part of everyday "magic" and ritual invoking the "gods" became an underground practice and a lot of other stuff got grafted onto it over time.

Interesting 🧐 but also silence protects others. These overall patterns are also indicative of what exists outside the universe-how heaven works. It’s not just “orthodoxy” vs magic. There is no such separation-no matter how you interpret it. There are things if known without the necessary strength and background can destroy. My instinct told me this when I first began practicing - have shared a bit with a close friend who has a love of occult history without going into much detail, but afterwards felt as if I shouldn’t have for the exact reason you described! I’ve spoken about it in therapy, too, but just on how I feel much lighter in my day to day; and of course had to thank my longtime therapist for starting me on meditation/mindfulness practice about 2 years ago, which has thankfully lead me here! Moving forward I’ll keep these things in mind. Always enjoy the videos - keep them coming!

I very much enjoyed this video. This is the first of your videos I believe I have watched. Being an Initiate of Hermeticism, the untold secrets can be hard to find. I am currently reading Franz Bardon’s Series. I was wondering which book of The Golden Dawn you were reading from. Next month I plan to purchase his last piece on Hermeticism, the comprehensive piece he did. (At least, I think that was his last book.). Also, you have a very nice voice & it is pleasant to listen to for longer periods of time. I believe often times people can be turned off to certain information if the presenter’s voice is not pleasing to their preferences. One last note, Damien Echols is a favorite for myself as well! It's best explained in the book THE WAR OF ART. . .by Steven Pressfield Basically one aspect of this is when people know you're involved in any kind of creative work. They actively seek to distract to discourage. Indeed it seems to be almost a spiritual force of entropy and apathy. To block and stop the would be creator.
