This is a recording of an Acoustics Lunchtime Research Seminar given by Dr Sebastien Degraeve of KEF UK to the Salford Acoustics Group on the 10th March 2021.
It covered:
Part I: From the LS3/5A to the KEF LS50
Part II: Development of the KEF LS50 Meta
Part III: Metamaterial Absorption Technology
Speaker Biography:
Dr Sebastien Degraeve is a Senior Research & Development Engineer at GP Acoustics (UK) Ltd. Born in 1983 in France, he graduated from Le Mans University with a MSc in Acoustics in 2008. In 2013, he received his PhD on Acoustic Metamaterials. His research demonstrated that a periodic electrical boundary condition applied on a homogeneous piezoelectric rod exhibits Bragg band gaps. The full tunability of such band gaps presents many potential applications as frequency filters, especially for radio frequency telecommunications. After 4 years working as a Scientist on fluid-structure interaction models in Cambridge (UK) and gaining a strong expertise in Finite Element Analysis, he joined KEF in 2018 to fulfill his passion for loudspeaker engineering. As part of the product research and development team, his main interest is on new technologies.
