Fantastic review! I ordered these last night, and I'm assuming it was a mistake because I had them on my wishlist, and they had the 999.00 placeholder cost until last night, and they changed to 89.99. I bought them then this morning I checked, and they were scorched earth on Amazon. It still shows they will be delivered tomorrow, which again is weird because they are from Hifigo... the initial release date was the 31st, so I guess I will find out tomorrow if I receive them.
I have artti r1 warm and dark set but not too balanced according to vocal but instrumental great I loved it. can i upgrade r1 to original delci or ae version My favorite genres pop,hip hop,r&b and dac fiio q11 please reply 🙏
i told myself i was done buying iems atleast for some time but i guess not i love Delci and definitely getting this version too amazing quality for only $60 it's a steal hope this one doesn't cost much more then the og version
I was in the same boat as you. Love the original Delci and told myself I was going to hold off on any new IEM's for a little while but this one seems to address some minor nitpicks that i had with the original
The sliver nozzle sounds like what I expected from the og that I returned. The Soundstage was definitely disappointing for me. Nice review, nice changes but wlll skip since Delci sounds like so many of my other sets. Still waiting on budget EST 😏 or something unique in the budget world. There is a generic, LAfitear, that uses a DD for bass/mids and a planar for treble that looks interesting, $25. I'm hesitant to blind buy since that brand looks kinda sketch.
the 8k peak due to coupler resonance always throws my brain off when looking at the graphs... if its a known parameter, I don't know why it can't be compensated away, at least from the data... I'm not really complaining because my own brain is unable to UNSEE it.
Lol. I know, they do make quite the entrance. Unless it's a mountain rather than a peak, I just ignore it and take my chances if the set looks good otherwise. Especially if it's an especially thick mountain 😅
@@someoneusa What got my brain this time, is the sharp roll off on the treble side after the 8k peak and the long but high buildup upto the 8k from the mids side - I'm really not sure how such a big dip on one side sounds. This AE edition seems to be one of those changes you can hear well but can't really see on the graph - they're really very close...
@@quadrannilator not sure if you EQ but it's sometimes surprising what a 1db change can do. You can also test the 8k peak by eqing it down. Usually if it's inflated by the coupler it will be very obvious when you lower it accordingly. The sound is really different when the 8k gets low.
@@someoneusa Many a times I can mentally filter it away - its just this time the 8k point marks where the roll off seems to begin... as you mentioned that even a 1dB difference is quite audible, so I wonder what would happen near this range. the graphs are too close and since the coupler peak is where the roll off begins, the peak might mask out how things change in this region. Again, I'm not someone who reads too deep into graphs nor interested in this set either, just trying to understand the differences in this new tuning.
Pretty interesting move. How do these fare when put against the EA500 LMs? I''m not buying the AE version of Delci because the original suits my preferences, but if they offer a similar experience to that of Simgot's offering in this price bracket, Kefine might be on to something. Are the drivers basically the same quality for Delci and EA500 LM?
I have Simgot EA500LM, I want to upgrade them and I was looking for maybe my for the Kefine Delci, or this AE, is it too much the difference of sounds from the Simgots I have? I also want to buy my first planars, I saw the Artti 10, What suggestion could you give me? I use the Simgot with a FiiO KA13 Dac, Thanks.
Upgrade is usually the wrong term. You have an LM and will get something different. Delci AE is similar but different. LM is balanced a bit bright and AE will drop the treble a bit more so closer to balanced. Planar is going to be different, technically different as well as sound. You will hear more small details on planars but the tuning is harder to get right. That is why there are quite a few planars, no perfect one. T10 is a good planar example especially if you can get it on sale. Planars are just different, some people love them, some don't, but I will always say worth a try.
I'm curious how you feel about the Delci AE compared to the KZ EDC Pro that you covered two weeks ago. Looking at your graphs the original and silver AE are particularly close to the EDC Pro.
The EDC Pro sounds like what I imagined the original Delci was going to sound, warm and punchy with better resolution than other budget sets. I felt that the Delci was warm, but had very little snap and thump in the dynamics, just kinda mushy overall. Of course it has much better build, cable, case etc, but I definitely prefer the EDC Pro over the OG Delci. I ended up just giving my Delci away
If you don't want the fancy Delci shell or need 2 tunings, pick up EDC Pro and a latte with your extra money. Delci AE has nice cable, nice case but you will enjoy either set.
I think that is fair. If I was AE marketing, they would say 2 new flavors for folks who didn't buy the original. It wasn't meant to replace it, more like Timesless AE. Address a market demand.
