@@pbind4187 I think you are absolutely right unfortunately - underneath a lot of pundits and outlets, is factory and engine of bias beavering away and it comes up to the fore in times like these ! The bias is absurd as well as the massive contradictions. There is nothing in any part of government wotrh thinking of as with an value at all - the whole system needs a massive re-jigging. Now we have this charade and circus about the queen - when those of us in reality, know probably the majority could not give two hoots about the royals - and are fully aware of the role in the last 300 plus years. A labour leader gives "moving" tribute - so what ? who cares JOE ? Sounding very out of touch and just another sounding off media commentary ?

If it was purely the practical loss of a part of a governence structure that was the reason for the responce then it would get an emotional responce much in line with the sudden death of the owner of Tesco or something. But this is not what we see from the media's balnket coverage in calm mornfull tone and many testomonies of sadness. There will be people who loved the queen in a sence more than just as someone prominant they agreed with and thats why I mentioned that people know her as bout as well as their neibours gran. To ask why people care in a raw emotional way is an interesing question. The blanket media coverage though is the most puzzling, theres clealry alot more going on thats alot more important, so far no media outlet has retuned to 'normal' coverage and are all keeping the same tone. I rekon they all think that the first to break will make some think they are heartless. How many extra will die this winter in the UK alone and whats being done/who is making sure that things arent being done? Thats the kind of coverage we actually need. @@kmadge9820 The last King and his Queen nagged Churchill into making health provision for injured soldiers returning home from the war when he couldn't be bothered with such things. Clem Attlee and Nye Bevan began rebuilding this country after the war; despite the US attaching many strings to the aid they gave us after Churchill foolishly told the US president that the UK was virtually bankrupt. Labour created the NHS, completely overhauled the welfare system and embarked on the most ambitious building programme this country had ever seen. Then the British public voted the Tories in, who immediately imposed austerity measures, as they always do whenever they are elected. The people who disregarded the progress that had been made when deciding who to vote for threw away the land fit for heroes ideal. The Queen mother believed that Tory governments needed strong labour opposition to keep them in check. The trouble has been in the last 40+ years (the period I have first hand memory of) is that every time labour lose an election, they spend most of the following years arguing among themselves rather than attacking the Tories. In the eighties the Tories lack of opposition even led to a "leaked" story of how worried the Queen was about their policies and the social division they were causing.

Churchill also knew that the US were developing their own computers and ordered that the British Colossus project be destroyed. His mother was American and he idolised the US. Eisenhower wanted to declare war on Russia as soon as victory in Europe was declared. He had no qualms about plunging the continent into another war. Thatcher didn't need much encouragement from Reagan to smash British industry. The Tories in the seventies made plans to provoke a miner's strike when they were re-elected. Strangely enough Michael Heseltine had a controlling share in a fleet of barges arranged to bring Chilean coal to Britain. It's sad that the only prime minister in my lifetime who actually promoted British manufacturing was Harold Wilson. The US Marshall Fund stood the completely devastated British and mainland Europe economies back on their feet post war and the US also rebuilt the Japanese economy - reason being to stop the advance of communism and socialism from Russia and China and to keep power in the hands of the rich. Churcjhill invaded revolutionary Russia after WW1 and pushed an invasion plan post WW2 but couldn't get other countries behind it. He nearly blew up Windscale, pushing scientists to develop the nuclear bomb - there is a good documentary on this on YT. I agree that Thatcher needed no pushing to put in neo liberalism in the UK. But the initiative came from the US - remember the air traffic controllers strike, how Reagan sacked all of them? Harold Wilson I saw in a poll was the most popular PM ever in UK and he believed that he was being pushed out by SA secret services - BOSS - who were surely not acting on their own initiative. It is outrageous to see the terrible poverty and homeless ness in the UK now when it is still the 6th richest country on the planet, while the rich have more money than they know what to do with. And the way the Tories are starving disabled people reminds me of the NAZ Is who killed off disabled people. What the trendy middle class leftists in the Labour party don't understand is that the majority of working class people (the people the party _used_ to represent) are pro-monarchist. They don't like being told by left wing activists that they are "Childish" (I've heard that from a few of them) for supporting the institution, and they certainly don't like seeing a leader like Corbyn sitting smirking while people at the Labour party conference shout "Off with their heads" and "Shoot them" when the monarchy is mentioned. "We're not the bl**dy French, you know." Not many people want to be ruled by what sounds like a blood thirsty mob. Blood thirsty mobs don't have a history of knowing when to stop.

Amazing speech from the man who should lead our glorious nation! Sir Keir is a real statesman, a man of fairness and integrity who we need to stop the rot of the last years. The Queen has shown us all how to live and serve, now it’s time for King Charles to take the baton and continue the work his mother worked on for 70 years.
