As my dad used to say, "A hit dog will holler." Instead of the restaurant owners behaving like gang members, they need to do better. Some of my worst experiences in restaurants come from Black owned. I don't go to restaurants for Instagram post. I go to restaurants to eat. If I spend my good earned money to eat at the restaurant, the food and customer service should be returned. Waiting an hour and a half for entrance in a restaurant is bad business because you are losing potential customers and money.
Big facts. Atlanta always getting mad about something because it's a image as city. People be wanting to move her to it's crazy. Ain't shit going on here. Black people need to do better. It's not the white folks hurting us it's us hurting us.
When this happened to me them folk south of ATL area still have not stopped. I was told I thought I was special. Noooooo things really do carry but I'm not gonna say I'm not humble or pretend that my opinion cause it's hard for someone without platform that has to deal with that. But yeah when I was cancelled I tried getting help. That carry is heavy over there ok. Till this day they look at me for just gossip they don't care if your on hard times minimum wage paid nothing it's all about getting cancelled and gossip you gotta be by the right people because ATL is amazing just everybody don't believe how crazy some are and far they will go gossiping
It's Atlanta culture, parking horrible and expensive, wait time, too long, food by the time you get to it you feel like you should have stayed home and watched good times.
I've been in Atlanta for over 40 years and everything being said about some black restaurants is true: terrible customer service, ridiculous pricing, and complete lack of respect for the customer.
That's the main reason why TI's restaurant and Magic Johnson's TGI Fridays closed down back in the day in ATL, long wait times and extremely poor customer service. It's something that needs to be highlighted so it can be rectified.
I rack up at Walmart and keep my stash in my hotel room. If I am staying more than a week, I’ll buy a mini hot plate and cook for my damn self. I ain’t got time 😂
It is crazy... Keith did not disrespect any restaurant, lol. He gave an honest opinion of his experience and was nice. He could have said a lot. Man is professional. I also appreciate the fact he does this as a normal person.
What he’s doing is influencing the public. A professional influencer is not going to review anything they don’t support just for clicks and monetary gain. He’s a clout chaser and this will help him learn boundaries. If you don’t like the service you received, don’t review it. His followers are only going to support wherever he says is good anyway. No need to give attention to what you DON’T like knowing how much influence you have. That can hurt the business and people will be angry and sue! Some people like trash service that’s why those places are still open.
@@d.c.5033that’s not the point of his reviews. Granted, I don’t watch his content, but from what I see, his reviews don’t look subjective, he gives a rundown of what his experience is. If he couldn’t get food, he couldn’t get food, there’s no negative opinion towards it. If his family gets bad service, they get bad service. If anything, he tells you to take his experience with a grain of salt because his experience can be different from yours. I even believe he addresses not only doing positive reviews though I can’t remember what he says about it. Also, you can’t sue for someone sharing their negative experience with your business, otherwise apps like yelp would be obsolete. They’d have to prove that his experience, which he probably records anyway, are false.
I feel the same. And just subscribe. I liked what sounded like honesty. Even if Im yelling laughing this itch. That's ok. I respect the honesty more than the BS u know what I'm saying. I'll be watching
I am a cosmetologist of 34years and I am seeing on social media people are discussing the horrible customer service of hair salons and stylist. WE NEED TO BETTER.
I do braids all the time because to do all the other stuff is a car note or mortgage. Then they send you a day before email of all the do/don’ts. Wash your own hair, dry it and braid it before u come. But the price is the same. Get the location address the day of and a deposit u can lose if you’re 5 minutes late. It was too much. I’ll just do the braids for a little while longer.
@jodysterling1813 Being that you are apart of the cosmetology profession, thank you for acknowledging that it's an issue that needs to be discussed because it is truly a problem in that area of expertise as well.
This is also why the club scene is dying…they charge to park, cover fees, overpriced drinks and food…not including that you are expected to tip. It’s just better to stay home!
Big facts. I spend my weekends enjoying free parks and exercising: cheap and life giving, unlike the Atlanta "we outside" culture. It's too expensive now to be "outside."
I'll take it a step further, that's why you see so many black folk on meetups just to walk in the park here in DC. People want social interaction and not get the screwjob.
The entitlement of these restaurants is asinine. If I read "Naps in the car are fine" on someone's menu and having to wait an hour and a half for that restaurant I'd leave IMMEDIATELY. There are too many options out there to be treated by rude entitled restaurants owned by C List celebrities.
The first time I went to Waffle House was in Newport News VA it was clean, calm and collected. I’m like yea I’m at the right one 😂 cuz I don’t ever wanna have to fight while hungry 😂
What Keith experienced is a small fraction of what it’s like to dine at Black Restaurants in Atlanta. I stopped dining at them a long time ago. It’s ridiculous here!
@@ChukwubuDikeIt's shit service in all these restaurants in Atlanta. They just put up with it more in non black owned restaurants. I've been in Atlanta for 5 years and have never had my full order or right order. Water refills are shit and waiters across the boards out here are just shitty. It ain't just the black restaurants.
Having grace is BS. Instead of trying to portray an image of exclusivity, pour money into customer service and management training. Ask Chic-fil-A for help.
When this happened to me them folk south of ATL area still have not stopped. I was told I thought I was special. Club culture is killing our black owned restaurants! If you dont own the land nor the building it sits on, why are they illegally charging parking? Secondly, all management teams should at least have a hospitality degree or have been in management food services for 10+ years( not a drive thru)
They are leasing which means there are rights transferred to them which allows them to tow cars and also charge people with trespassing if they wanted.
@@SoniaLee-c6d thank you for your response! The rights that are transferred are lease tenancy ( occupancy for either short or long term. The rights of the land transfers upon purchase creating “ownership”. So, if they are collecting fees to pay, then legally the owner of the actual land needs to paid too, which i doubt they are paying
Born and raised in Atlanta and I would never eat at OLG. The Google reviews give a total of 3.6 out of 5.0 and ALL of my friends and family that have patronize OLG stated that the food is mediocre at best and the prices definitely don't match the culinary experience. Additionally, the owners stated on their Bravo show that features the restaurant that they weren't going to trouble themselves with purchasing a generator for the restaurant which is located in an area that experience frequent blackouts because they basically didn't feel like going through the process despite the fact that their customers are sitting in a hot restaurant with no lights and waiting for them to be restored so that they can pay with a credit card. RIDICULOUS.
I heard OLG is TRASH! That from my friend whose also a “foodie” with really good taste in food (like me) When I go out to eat, I only want delicious, hot and fresh food in a very clean restaurant.
OLAPCG (Old Lady Alabama Chain Gang) was horrible. Drove from TX to DC with son , daughter-in-law, and 4 grand kids. They were excited to go to a place they had seen in TV. What a waste of time and a lot of money. The servers and workers were nice but the food was not good, way too expensive for what we bought, and yep we had to wait outside in the car, unless you wanted to pay $15 to park in their little cages area behind the restaurant or park next to the section 8 apartments down the street. Their processes are whack and they should be ashamed of themselves for false advertisement. Guess you should only go there when the cameras rolling. Went to a couple of other restaurants while there and I was not impressed with any of them. I know it has to be some good places there but I wasn’t planning on being there a year to try and find them.
As one that tips their server, if you present great service, I have no problem “rewarding” you for your efforts. I’ve never had issues tipping but I’ll only tip based on that service.
I’m in Atlanta . From Atlanta. I go restaurants in Atlanta never experience none of this. Most of these restaurants that most these people go .Are the same people complain about why they don’t like Atlanta, but want move. Atlanta need a deep cleaning if some of these rude people point blank including black own restaurant. If restaurants is a 1 to 2 hour wait I’m leaving. I’m not complaining. I’m going somewhere else, but some these people want to be their because the like vibe then complain after their for hour . HELL LEAVE
“Rewarding”??? My brother you are tripping HARD. A tip is not a reward. They are not your entertainment. Be careful with that attitude. You are paying for their service. Hopefully they serve you well and you pay appropriately. I’m from Atlanta and in Atlanta. Most people who talk crap about Atlanta moved her from somewhere else.
@@drubert1981the premise of "tips" is that you pay additional for their service, aka "rewarding" them for their service. Only in America are people shamed to tip because the owners of the restaurants don't want to pay their employees a living wage. In the rest of the world, it's not a thing. Soho House in NYC only pays $10 an hour which forces their employees to live off tips. That's criminal. Making 100k a year in NYC is working poor.
It's very sad that they can't LEARN from constructive criticism. What a shame. They don't know what they are doing and that is really at the heart of the matter. If they have bad clientele ask them to leave. It really is that simple. They need to get professionals to assist them with better positioning.
JH the issues that KL exposed are rampant in Atlanta. IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME! Yes, some customers are bad for sure. But, to treat every customer poorly because you had a few bad apples? What's the difference between that and a white person assuming all black people are thieves just because one black person stole from them? We as black people need to start treating each other better. Don't just say you love black people, show it in your actions.
Facts! I live here and it’s an epidemic if you ask me. I’m originally from California and coming here and experiencing it firsthand was initially shocking. However now I don’t bother patronizing those types of businesses that abhor their customers.
yea im from california too and let me tell y'all if i get a bad exp at a business don't care who owns that shit i'm never comin back and thats on god and my dead momma. all this shit that they be doing in ATL lmao.. glad i don't live in that city@@missalphaomegagod-2u
I feel bad for Keith Lee because exactly what he experienced I have seen and went through as well. I live here in ATL and its true, some of the things I have gone through in trying to eat out in ATL I have not experienced in my 30+ years of living in NY. Like Mrs. Hill said there is always room for improvement....and that restaurant, Milk and Honey, my family and friends were suppose to go there this weekend, but that won't be happening at all.
Extremely great commentary and I’m praying for Keith Lee and his family. The restaurants in Metro Atlanta that we’re intended to be blessed by messaging received it and I hope they prosper going forward. It’s unfortunate that at times within our community we give “us” unnecessary 💨. Corrective criticism can be utilized in a positive way if you remove yourself from the situation and listen to hear and not to speak.
Correct. Even major news outlets covered the story about that teacher Keith Lee’s review helped to retire. *In only 24 hours*. The business owner said she had to rent out another facility and hire more staff because sudden demand came through the floodgates after Keith praised her products. I believe it was the chocolatier lady. Keith Lee’s reviews and constructive criticism have really helped those who humbled themselves and welcomed Keith’s suggestions. He only said what needed to be said about ghetto ass Atlanta. The same things locals and visitors have been saying FOR YEARS. Our people just don’t like to hear the truth, NOR take accountability for anything. The really sad thing is that Keith have done these reviews in numerous cities, without incident. Now he gets to Atlanta and ghetto niggas wanna fight and threaten because Keith’s *gentle* honesty got them butt hurt. Literally. Folks better remember that man is a trained MMA fighter and elite athlete with over 10 year’s experience. LOL Step to him if they want to. Some of Our people need folded chairs upside their heads. Club culture, for sure. Jesus.
That's What's Wrong With Our People... It's Been Going On That Nobody Holds Anyone Accountable In Being a Professional When You're Running a Business .....Stop Handicapping Black Owned Restaurant By Giving Them Your Money For Bad Service...I Bet ATL & Any Other Restaurant Will Step Their Game Up Now!!!!✌🏿
Right. I slowly fade away and don't go back 🤷🏾♀️ I have no idea if some are still available. It's really hard for black folks and store front businesses. I sorta understand.

Sure you can! Some folks in the restaurant industry have yet to recognize that they’re caught up in a classist mentality when it comes to the way they run their business. That is borne out of an oppressor-like mindstate.
On July 5th of this year, I went to Chicago Pizza in Marietta GA, for my friends birthday. We sat down at a booth and started celebrating my friends birthday. About 20 minutes later we were asked to move because a local celebrity was coming in to eat. This person’s fiancé came in and saw us sitting at the booth and asked the staff to ask us to move. And instead of them saying no, because we were paying customers too, they asked us to move. I won’t mention the celebrity because I don’t know if they knew we were asked to move as a request from their fiancé. My problem is with the restaurant treating us like we weren’t paying customers.
See this is what mean with poor business sense. If they gave u the OPTION of moving ,BUT your meal would then have been FREE would you have minded? You gotta know how to finesse and look at the long run🙄
Thanks for breaking the Keith Lee situation down. I kept seeing his name in my timeline but I had no idea of he who he was or why his name was all over the place.
Here's the shameful part for me. It took Keith Lee to come thru before black people in Atlanta decided to speak on it and demand accountability. Again, our people wait around for an 'outside savior' to come fix a problem that they have full capability in fixing themselves. #badhabit #dobetter
I'm a black-owned business owner in the DMV strictly online. My home decor business literally was told the quality and presentation is on the Overstock and ZGallerie level which I take pride and joy knowing our customer service and branding is comparable to these big name OGs. When people learn that its a black-owned business, I immediately get... wow never had black owned business operate so smooth and professionally. Complimemt yes but its also hirtful to know that black ownership has a stigma of being of low quality, poor customer service and professionalism. KL shed a light of classism and toxic subculture within the Black community
I know it sucks but unfortunately it's true. Everytime I go to a black restaurant esp. Jamaicans, there's always a damn attitude as if they're doing you a favor. I stopped supporting businesses solely because it's "black owned"; if your product/service is good, then it's good. I could careless about race at this point.
I avoid black owned hair salons. I went in one time to get my hair braided in singles. I need them to grow my hair duh! My hair struggles a bit however I've been doing great. I go into the black hair salon and when I say the laughing and snickering behind my head was atrocious. I felt so self conscious I just left. Went to the African salon and showed them my hair. They said oh we can do that no problem. No snickering, no talking about me, really getting me together in that chair and my hair came out fantastic! On top of that, the PRICE! $450 no hair included for some singles from a black owned salon. $220 that including TIP for the African shop! I will go to them always. It's why they still in business period!
@@leestreet1627If the food and the customer service is trash then it's trash. He isn't the only one that's saying that. There are a lot of people talking about black owned businesses in atlanta and the customer service and quality is horrible.
That lady is right about the lifestyle for black owned businesses. I and my wife make well over 6 figures, you’ll find us at cfa or zaxbys in some Vans.
@@llllll-ux2lz nah its just that a lot of people think 6 figures is JUST 100,000 leading people to say things like "well over 6 figs" when 6 figs is actually 100,000 - 999,999..... im being very sincere...i swear im not trying to be mean or anything....im just saying.
It’s not just major cities. It’s everywhere. I’m in Indianapolis Indiana where a Vegan restaurant called Burgeezy’s is at. They started with passion, good taste & friendly service. As a man who’s been a chef in the food industry, they were going down a very good path. But once they got a location in a luxurious area next to the canal, they started messing up, no waiters, no waitresses, get you food from the kiosk. 2 hour wait for cold brunch. Even tho their food is delicious, they treat people like we need them when they truly made it because of the customers that supported them from The beginning. Black owned or not, “you are a restaurant”. Customer service is customer service. I bet if you was to go to McDonald’s & wait for you fries for 20 minutes or more and got cold fries, y’all would raise hell. My people of color, do better, be humble, and if you wanna be the face of luxury and professionalism… Be professional not just luxurious.
These businesses don't seem to understand the basics of supply and demand. If you get a lot of carryout orders.....hire more ppl. Like Cardi said, these restaurants don't wanna make money.
Didn't Cardi B say something similar about restaurants in Atlanta? Can't order food to go or ahead of time or closed on certain days. Smh....why can't we ALL just get along...🤣💯
I dont understand how they can't do take-out because they're too busy. All they need to do, if they're serious, is divide their service into two parts. Employ 2 or 3 staff for the takeout orders and arrange a small section of the kitchen for takeout service aswell.
Thank You Jamele Hill I commented on Funky Dineva's video when he was giving his review on this very topic. I was in Boston MA at this all white establishment the only thing I hated about eating there was that I couldnt substitute the side that already comes with the meal with something else. after that waiter wouldnt accommodate me; my whole experience and the taste of the food was bland as hell😒🙄. I live in the DMV area and my favorite restaurant to eat at is Copper Canyon Grill. 🤩😍 The reason being is because, when they were opening a second location in Bowie me and my bestie applied to be waitresses there. When we got the job; before we could even wait tables. We had to actually study the entire menu from front to back. & study all the different ingredients that's in the meals. If any patrons were allergic to anything, it was mandatory that we write down their allergies & the cook had to alter any ingredients or substitute it all together. (even the drinks as well) If you didn't pass the test you couldnt wait tables. I love that Copper Canyon does that. (It's pure genius) More restaurants need to adopt their policy and step their customer service skills up to par #ijs 🤷🏾♀️ Milk & 🍯 y'all tried it, with that long ass list of rules 🙄😒 Gurl bye! ✌🏾💅🏾
I have lived in Atlanta all my life since 1982. The city is full and too big to handle the weekend crowds. Transplants have made Atlanta a very different city than what it use to be for us born and raised folks. It's expensive and you spend too much money on food that is mediocre at best. Literally I can eat at my mom home and her food taste better than most restaurants. Some restaurants are cashless, which gives unscrupulous servers time to steal your credit card info. Atlanta is a see and be seen environment. I stopped spending weekends in this hype culture long time ago. I enjoy going to free parks and exercising on pretty days and cooking at home. Atlanta culture is too expensive for the lack of quality received. It's not just with restaurants its in the home buying industry as well. They throw up cheap houses with lots of plastic fixtures that don't last worth anything. The quality of everything in Atlanta has gone down with the influx of people moving here. There was a time when Atlanta gave you a charming quality of life circa 1990-2005. Now, the whole city is just overpriced and underwhelming: food, homes, groceries, dating life, fakes, and phonies and the city is dangerous, teens will break in your cars and it cost more than what was stolen. They break in cars everywhere in Atlanta. There is a whole underbelly no one talks about when describing Atlanta.
I mean I've been to alot of cities in the US and New York , LA , and other places seem to handle crowds just fine I've even had a great time in Baltimore
The young lady who spoke about these Instagram restaurants was absolutely correct. They may look good astetically, but the food is trash. There are few restaurants that I frequent and I just cook at home. Thanks for this!
I'm in NYC, and I'm baffled listening to these struggles. While I eat my takeout meal 😂😂 that I ordered ahead😂😂😂 and took home on a random Tuesday afternoon.
There is a young lady who works in a local store from me. That blk. Girl has no people skills. I have always been kind too her. Just to get her to see that it's OK to be kind. Last I checked, walked in now she has to take the trash out! 😂😢
Gretta I've noticed that a lot of black employees (men and women) have NO people skills. If they do, they don’t show it. They’re rolling eyes, barely speaking when you get up to the register, don’t teen you a total or bye when you leave. Things are so backwards nowadays. It’s ridiculous. But good that she’s on trash duty now 😂
Good comment Jemele. The greatest part of customer service is what is missing from the restaurants you are talking about, feeling welcome. No waiting area, nickel & diming for condiments, table time limits all go towards making you feel unwelcome. Trying to be exclusive is all well and good but you had better make sure your customer understands that you want them there or they won't come back.
The elitist, arrogance at Real Milk & Honey......they don't evaaa have to worry about me. They are obviously doing so well, with no need for future customers. 🤷🏾♀️
Try the Milk and Honey but avoid the Real Milk and Honey. Apparently they are two separate restaurants own by different people. Unfortunately the Milk and Honey restaurant caught a lot of stays without Kieth Lee ever being anywhere near them
As an African most black restaurants esp the OLG type will judge you based on how you are dressed and if you are not dressed to the nine you get looked down upon all I need is a a clean place, good food & treated with respect. Most of these places we are met with attitude which makes some of us not wanting to go to return and we wonder why these places can't even stay in business for even a year.
The thing about this that really stood out to me is why if your restaurant is so busy you can't handle take out, reservations, an hour plus on the wait time, would the priority be on getting a review from an influencer and not on improving being able to provide better service to the customers you already have. IJS
Because Atlanta is so full 😩 of people it can't handle the weekend crowds demands. There is a wait time anywhere you go in Atlanta, even at fast-food restaurants. The city can not handle itself or keep up with the amount of people living here.
@@faithinallthingsw4088 Exactly!! It's like ppl don't think about the volume restaurants receive. Not to mention if an establishment is small, but the place is popular, they are being RESPONSIBLE for letting ppl know what they can and can't do. Like damn, can they at least get credit for being upfront about their limitations...?!?! If ppl think they can do better, why aren't they opening restaurants to show how it's done....?!?! Black hypocrisy is REAL.
If you have to threaten this person over HIS opinions, this means you are aware of his influence on people out there. This means you indirectly admit doing some things wrong or that he is right. If this is the case, then right your wrongs and everything will be fine. It’s better than fighting the guy. You will loose customers now that things are going viral. It doesn’t worth it.
I'm glad this has surfaced. This conversation needs to be had. I'd love to patronize my own more but i know what comes with some (not all) so I choose to stay away.
I think the culture is actually bigger than most of these restaurants . He went to restaurants that don’t have the best food in Atlanta but their popularity and clout are bigger than the actual business . That’s no excuse for poor service. But you not gonna avoid long wait times because these places people coming just to say they were there and see someone famous.
90 minute time limit is law in NY. It's up to a restaurant to enforce it if they want to. Most of those rules are pretty common in NY, except you can make reservations at most places. Too risky to turn away patrons in NY.
The rules and requirements to have a nice smell at a decent black-owned restaurant, Is just as bad as the new age black hair salons. Yes, I said it.....
Jemele, thank you for an absolutely excellent and full critique. Professionalism & excellent customer service is important for a successful business. Black businesses as you mention already face so much adversity and discriminatory practices. Imagine having to pay for security for starters.
How does loans or money availability have to do with how you treat your customers or severely over pricing? Bad service is bad service and it happens TOO MUCH in our businesses.
So instead of saying please come back, give us a chance to redeem our practices some people would make threats and choose to keep bad habits connected to their restaurants. Idiots!!!
It’s also how you say it guys. The rules for milk and honey took me out. It’s so ghetto. Something about nothing on days that end in Y like 😂 dawg how long do you want your business to last and what’s the impression you want? Cus I’m not dining at milk and honey. No matter where I am in life, I’d rather not.
I just don't go to the black owned restaurants just because I know it's ignorance surrounding the restaurants. I'm 33 year old black man from DC. That club culture in general is something I let go in my early 20s cuz I got tired of the BS. The Black owned mom and pop shops are diamonds in the rough that I'll support but brunch spots aint my thing
I'm not a fan of post 1990 Atlanta. It is no longer the southern city of my youth. When I must go down there I no longer eat out. If I'm not staying with family, I go to a Chick-Fil-A drive through or Walmart and take it back to my hotel. Too many of the entrepreneurs who open these places in Atlanta are not restauranteurs. They are celebrities of one sort or another and just because they have the finances to open an eatery, doesn't mean they know anything about food service industry protocols or customer experience standards. NYC had a few celebrity owned places but they don't stay in business long when they're up against trained restaurant professionals.
Restaurants and club culture. I'll never forget an overpriced restaurant/lounge I went to in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. There was an armed police officer station inside.
Honestly I’m from ATL nobody that threatened him was actually from Atlanta. Nobody eat at them restaurants but tourist he never tasted Atlanta food be straight up I don’t condone the negativity he received from non Atlanta people
Bruh… I’m so sick of our people doing stuff like this. But I understand the reason why. Only trappers can afford a restaurant, since black people cant get loans. So they run it with a take it or leave it mentality. However, this is not the same market looking for highly exclusive product.
When this happened to me them folk south of ATL area still have not stopped. I was told I thought I was special. "NO parties larger than 4 on days that end in Y." Maybe i'm stupid but does that mean no parties larger than 4 in general??? I feel like i'm missing something. This can't be what they're saying, because they say automatic 18% gratuity for parties of 5+.
What!....the receipt actually has an individual fee for "employee health benefits". I have never seen that on a restaurant receipt, and never want to see it. That restaurant needs to get it together.
Eloquently put young lady and I appreciate you educating us on this topic because I was just saying the other day that I wanted to travel to certain cities just for the food and you prepared me for that.
Ain’t no such thing as ; city business……. Say what you want about Baton Rouge or Dallas, I won’t take it personally….. But lately, customer service from young black women has been totally wack, hate to say it
Thank you for this. He told not one lie! These particular restaurants need CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING! And the food is just OK!!!! The RMH needs a total overhaul!! Music is too loud, you may or may not get addressed by the staff when you go in, the food is just alright and a lot of the clientele is ….. if I’m spending my money I’ll go somewhere else. On another note, I love to support my people but I’m not supporting the nonsense.
I cant wait for black business to start to create business plans specifically around not being these stereotypes. And when we find black businesses with fair pricing and amazing customer service we need to promote them and flood them with support
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾Thx u J, ur video hit on EVERTHING 🤯 I was saying about the “Keith Lee” situation (I enjoyed his review). Maybe it’s because the 3 of us are all Detroiters! 😉 Keep being “Unbothered”!!!! 🤎
I will be REAL. One thing I don’t play about is my time. If your restaurant is poorly managed you best believe I’m not driving one hour to wait another hour or three for subpar service and food. I’ve visited a Black owned business that I called before going and invited family. When I got there, they were closing EARLY, but didn’t communicate this with us at all on the phone. You better believe I choose restaurants for their reputation, NOT color. And that’s on period.
I’m Mexican and I can’t relate to this but Vallarta supermarkets are the most overpriced places to shop for groceries! I would love to spend my hard earned money at a Mexican grocery store but they charge 2-3 dollars more on almost everything! I haven’t been to a Vallarta in over 10 years and that was to use their coin machine 🤦♂️
This is real enlightening. I’m a brown girl in Austin, TX and exclusivity is a thing out here as well. I have never heard of the concept of “club culture” in food service, but that’s literally what Austin has been rebuilding to since the pandemic. Ugh, this is very enlightening.
