I love this man. It's ironic how he's admittedly not an effects pedal kind of guitarist - but with "Satisfaction" he's pretty much single-handedly responsible for the fuzz-tone craze that continues with all kinds of effects pedals to this day.
If he was literally the coolest person on the planet he would have lower body temperature then the rest of us, and that would be a severe medical condition. Please learn the proper use of the word 'literally', or just stop using it entirely.
Someone once asked Keith Richards what would he be if he could be anything else other than himself. Keith replied, a Tyrannosaurus Rex twice as big as any other Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Trying to learn a few licks at 76 and then understanding Open G 5 string tuning. Ah, light bulb moment. So much fun to be able to play that simple but such a great sound. He is the man !
Hi Keith, when I was young in 1966 I couldn't wait to hear ruby Tuesday every morning before I went to school it's such a great recording, I always preferred the stones because the sons were so good and I think you guys were the first punk type band that where really good musicians, my friend Bernard who met you once said you were grand and from what I heard you liked him he was with Rick Reisinger I think, he was my mate in school growing up. It's a shame he took his own life, in my mind your one of the greatest guitar players in the world with all the beautiful cords and notes you've played over the years there riffs you could never forget when you hear them. I also love Charlie he's a great drummer and I've emulated my drumming style after him, cheers, warren
They never mention the fact that he plays the guitar tuned as a five string banjo. Played banjo all my life and I sometimes tune the guitar this way, so I can play lead guitar. Yep, he would make a great banjo player!
Several years ago, bought a CD to honor Mr. Fender.. Lot of great musicians playing songs, including Keith.. Without Mr. Fender all of them would be something but not guitar players... One of this days tould to some friends that never liked The Edge very much... "Undreds" of pedals surrounding him... He doesn't know play normally.. Nothing against U2, good bass and drums, and great band. But never liked to much.. In RU-vid on a vídeo " Jimmy Page, The Edge and Jack White Kashmir" Page is a completely master with is simple and tunning guitar, making the great chords and no pedal at all...
Leo fender is an icon in the Guitar Building world. But to suggest that guitar players wouldn't exist without a Leo Fender guitar? Acoustic Six Strings have been around long before electric guitars. And if I'm not mistaken Rickenbacker was the first to actually make an electric guitar. Just saying
I saw a rhythm guitarist play a 2 hour set with one chord. That one bar chord went up & down the neck but I never saw his fingers move. I wasn't near but it looked like he was using an F major & maybe lifted his middle finger for F minor.
Yep lay down something solid that touches the heart... that goes for any instrument. How many great players out there that just cannot lay down the basics??? Loads.
Soo stupid off saying that itts riff and what he play interact with the music itts impotrtant and plays with emotion fantastic songwriter and guitar player that lasted soo long done soo many great songs nobody can come close too that only chuck berry
