is the title of this video right? It says GTI 6 on the rear quarter panel? Gti 5? Miami blue is the best colour of these cars and i love the engine swap! :)

Well spotted. The badge really should have been '2.0 GTI-5' as the car uses the Xsara 5 speed gearbox but the GTI-6 sticker was readily available as other modders have commonly used the 306 GTI-6 engine and gearbox combination. However, that gearbox is heavier and quite unnecessary. A 6 speed might sound fun on paper, but in a 205, the 5 speed is the gearbox you'd choose for road or track. 👍

@@senderongarage ahhh, so the 5 relates to the box....usually the 5 is cylinders but on the pugs, I'm familiar with the GTi 6 being a reference to the box. Try and get the stickers made up, it has to be right that decal....it would cause people to ask why it's a 5 alllllll the time though :)

@@sleepingwarrior4618 This car was recently sold just before the video was published. After some consideration of the market and desire for a quick sale, it was advertised in the UK at £9,500 and I know the owner was happy with the final sale price, but as for what it's actually worth, that's a tough question. I think he advertised it too cheaply. You certainly couldn't build another of similar spec for that budget...

I'm sure there are a few more out there, but back in the day, most 205 engine swaps would have used the 405 1.9 Mi-16 engine, or earlier 306 2.0 16v like in the 306 S16, so we're not sure if the later 2.0 GTi-6/VTS engine would have been as popular.

Just wondering if anyone knew what happened to my old 205 GTI. G447snl. It looks like it’s off the road looking at the mot. Shame had hardly any miles on it and almost in as new condition when I stupidly sold
