Great cover bass, lead, drummer, vocals, amazing and spot on. My favorite rock song ever, one of Cream’s and Clapton’s best, Clapton was and remains a classy genius and to me is still the King of lead guitar as well as blues/rock. God bless and thanks for the quality Christmas gift!
Holy Mackerel!!! No one that I've ever seen (that has covered this song) has ever nailed it note for note as just did Keith Wyatt. Amazing! Not to mention a great vocal as well. Superb!!!🙌🙌🍎
Brilliant efforts from all three. The guitarist nailed 99% of the really tricky third verse section in the second solo. Trying to copy Clapton when he was just cooking on God knows what from a standing start 50 years later - well doesn't get much harder. Well done guys.
Obviosuly.....Ginger is unrepeatable....the song feel different without him drumming.....I play guitar with Clapton'style, but i haven't found a right drummer to play Crossroads......
It would have nice to see Keith and his band, at that period of his life, at my towns Dive/Blues bar, where a lot of 3piece Blues bands play! Great job on Crossroads! 😎
Just started from scratch learning to play guitar. Was recommended to get one of Keith's beginner books/DVD by a Guitar Center employee and thought I would see who this guy is by doing a little searching. Yep, he's got the goods for sure. His teaching style and personality makes learning more fun than I thought it was going to be. From his DVD you can tell he is a professional educator. Thanks for posting this great performance...
Nice job guys. Took quite a few hours or days (weeks) to nail that I bet. Each player nailed his part. That is the best of Clapton in my opinion. Gotta remember when he did it. He was one of the early pioneers of the heavy sound..
Excellent cover and great expressive interpretation of the solo, by one of the early blues instruction video pioneers. Thanks Keith for all the great guitar lessons.
“Nobody seemed to know me. Nobody passed by.” Should it not be “everybody passed me by”. Or is this yet another track I’ve been singing the wrong words to all this time? Great rendition, guys
Definitely the best cover I've ever heard. And I can finally understand the lyrics! Just a couple slight criticisms: The guitar solo is well-played, but it lacks Clapton's bite, and the bass, although very well played too, just doesn't exude that power and push that Jack Bruce delivered. Nonetheless, a great cover!
i doubt Clapton could play it like that now, he does a swing version that sucks all the life out of it - this is stellar, its one of the solos you can do a version of, you have to respect the original notes, its the only way to do it - good job man!
Could not agree with you more, Diego. Especially about it being "one of yhe best tunes ever made". Lots of interesting covers on RU-vid, for exam-ple John Mayer in Tokyo. Best wishes
Ok the guitar player looks and sounds like jack bruce and the bass player looks like clapton what twist in the fabric of life...and yes these guys did a fine job on this tune.
Ha. It’s “everybody passed me by..” not “nobody passed me by..”. And heaven only knows what he says instead of “poor Willie Brown” in the final verse. Have to admit though that his guitar playing is superb.
It's not a museum...blues singers changed stuff all the time...what is this rock or classical in a museum...you want to hear the original lyrics listen to a record...
Notes almost perfect, guitar tone too clean, lyrics flubbed in a couple of places (..”nobody passed me by”..should be “everybody passed me by”...and in the final verse, it should be “tell my friend poor Willie Brown” not whatever the hell it is he is saying here).
