That moment when you look in the mirror and CRY cuz your face is full of Big ass Cyst and dark spots but your boyfriend looks at u like he don't see nothing wrong. You don't know if you should cry or be happy. Thank God for the significant others who love you with no judgment. Thank you for helping me put the makeup brush down Keke.

I didn’t have acne but I definitely understand. I had terrible sebhorreic dermatitis on my face for almost 10 years: spots, crusts, flaking, oozing, etc. It was brutally painful and ugly. One derm very rudely told me it was the worst she’d ever seen. The pain of having a disfiguring condition on your FACE that you cannot hide or control is, like you said, something others will never understand. What sucks is after my seb derm finally cleared after 10 years of struggle - I immediately developed Melasma and have had that ever since. My heart goes out to everyone struggling with their skin. If I had a dollar for every time some idiot asked what was wrong with me, or gave stupid unsolicited advice, or acted like they were scared what I had was contagious, or said ‘you have something on your face’, I’d be able to buy a car, no joke. I adore Keke for coming out about her skin and sharing awareness! The fact that she still looked goddess-tier beautiful even with serious skin problems, it gives important perspective that our ‘faults’ don’t need to hold us back.

It is a mental health issue and it hurts the face plus it leaves scars, plus its highly expensive

Those three minutes right there in the beginning of the video are SO important. I've struggled with my skin since I was a teenager and people would come up to me with the CRAZIEST advice, completely unsolicited at the most random times, which was so disrespectful and I'd have to go OFF. Like why are you telling me to wash my face with dish soap? To use lemon and toothpaste? Other people would make remarks about my higiene (you probably don't wash your face, etc) and straight up blame me for my skin's condition. It's crazy.

I had the same problem with dark marks. Until I found the Laura Mercier secret camouflage concealer that comes in a compact. Just apply to each arm or spot with a tiny brush. My skin will look so even in just a few minutes. It’s $36 but it lasts years and years. I’ve tried cheaper concealers but they just don’t cover well. You can apply powder on top to make it last even longer. I hope this helps you and your daughter.

One thing I’ve noticed is that men don’t break out as badly as women do and I think a lot of it has to do with the hormones and the changes that women have to deal with. I also feel like a skin routine really shouldn’t need too many skin care products. I feel like the less the better.

I read somewhere that due to female hormones and the ability for our bodies to stretch and pain endurance,it causes our skin to be thinner compared to men.hence we break out more than men.

Right cheekbones are already smooth like butter and the left cheekbones and chin are a work in progress. I don't ever breakout on my forehead. Accutane is a gamechanger for me. Side effects I can handle....such as dry lips, backache, headache, joint pains, drowsiness. I'm surprised 😮 Accutane didn't work on you Keke. You're still beautiful queen. 😍 Update: April 2023=7 month treatment with Accutane completed and skin is flawless and glass-like. Yes, I feel like acne face doesn't require someone to use alot of products at one time. Black soap or Dettol "herbal " soap and for moisturizer or oil I used "Arimis" and with no makeup and the discolouration or pigmentation was cleared but you can scrub your face once in a while. I would wash my face in the morning with Dettol herbal soap and apply Arimis then before I sleep I would wash my face with Dettol herbal soap again and sleep like that without applying anything. Hi Keke. My name is Jasmine and I am a licensed esthetician. I watched your video in it's entirety and heard you say that you don't want unsolicited advice. I'm taking a risk by sending this message and I hope you don't see me providing unsolicited advice. Your story is similar to mine. I struggled with acne from 18 to 24. I saw a dermatologist who wasn't helpful and I literally had to research on my own how to heal my own skin. It was a journey, but I found products that worked for me and cleared my skin on my own. Flash forward, I left my corporate job and I believe thanks to Divine intervention was lead to esthetics school. My skin was "perfect" at the beginning of the program but then things changed and I started breaking out which left acne scars. I'm sure it was related to my hormones changing. I had to work very hard to figure out AGAIN how to make my skin healthy. After going through the same process that you are currently going through i.e. finding out what foods trigger me, what ingredients are best for my skin type, etc , I was able to get healthy skin again. I believe my skin journey which is turning into my life's purpose is happening the way it is because I'm an esthetician who actually understands what it is truly like to go through having acne and hyperpigmentation. The skin journey is one of the hardest journeys to go through because our society has placed so much emphasis on perfection that when you have breakouts and hyperpigmentation you can subconsciously feel inadequate and obsess over getting "perfect" skin. And I'm not saying you feel this way, just saying that someone can feel that way. After reaching the end of my journey, with some occasional hiccups, I realized there is a blessing underneath what shows up on the skin. It took me FOREVER to finally get the PCOS diagnosis and to finally know where to start with healing my skin. Doctors will prescribe everything in the book rather than helping you understand what is actually happening. It really is a journey. I’m so happy to see this transparency… I hid behind Snapchat filters and make up for the first year before actually managing it properly. I’m not even going to get into the unsolicited skin care advice from people who just didn’t understand it. “Use proactiv it’s the only thing that works for me”- but of course you didn’t ask and didn’t know I’ve tried every new kit from proactiv and it didn’t work for MY SKIN…

I didn’t have acne but I definitely understand. I had terrible sebhorreic dermatitis on my face for almost 10 years: spots, crusts, flaking, oozing, etc. It was brutally painful and ugly. One derm very rudely told me it was the worst she’d ever seen. The pain of having a disfiguring condition on your FACE that you cannot hide or control is something others will never understand. I adore Keke for coming out about her skin and sharing awareness. The fact that she still looked goddess-tier beautiful even with serious skin problems, it gives important perspective that our ‘faults’ don’t need to hold us back. Sending prayers for healing to all who are suffering with this!

I have PCOS and was diagnosed around 13-14 yrs old. I was put on birth control immediately after my diagnosis. It’s been 10 yrs and I stopped taking birth control a few months back. My acne came back FULL FORCE. Thank you for being so transparent with your PCOS. Even though we know we’re not alone, videos like this make us FEEL less alone. Definitely going to try these products and see if I have any luck with them. Thank you. 💛

At first I did kinda retreat when I saw the noxema and sea breeze, then I remembered how I started a 10 step combo Korean/western skincare routine with acid exfoliants (aha & bha), vitamin c, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, benzoyl peroxide, tea tree oil, green tea extract, Kojic acid, licorice root...everything. And it worked great for me and my skin had never been better...so you do you! Everyone has to figure out what works for them.

I use the Korean skin care, but instead of Retinol for my serum I use Bakuchiol because studies have shown that it's better for people with acne because it's not so aggressive. I watch Dr. Alexis Stephen's who is a black dermatologist and she recommended it.....but yeah the Korean skincare has really helped my skin. Jackie Aina has helped me to make my morning and night routine be a fun ritual ❤.....Happy skin journey❤

I’m an Indigenous actor in Canada and struggle with hormonal acne and it’s SO hard to feel fully committed to a character when you have a nagging in the back of your head about if your acne is distracting or obvious 😩 seeing someone so prominent and successful being transparent and vulnerable with their own acne story is really inspiring and comforting, and I hope more people if they do struggle with acne share their experiences in such a beautiful, transparent way. Thank you again for sharing- it means so much more than you could imagine! 💛🙏🏼

Regular ol’ Neosporin changed my life (yup) My linesister put me on when I had mask/stress breakouts and I’ve YET to turn back. My regime is below for someone wanting to try something new. This might be for you:): -Clean your face (I use either Cetaphil, Cerave or my regular ol body soap: Dr. Bronners) -Neosporin (light use in day, heavier use at night, also GREAT for breakouts….it’ll be gone in a couple of days) -Aloe vera gel (I tend to mix the neosporin with the aloe Vera and massage into my skin) -Drink lots of water -Minimal to no soda (Sprite is okay every blue moon, I drink a lot of cranberry juice,) -Minimal to no chocolate Background stuff: Extra stuff I use: -Sunscreen: urban skin RX (I don’t use it as much as I should but when I do, it’s my go-to) Vitamins I take: -One-a-days (2 per) -black seed oil vitamins (2 per) My type skin: very oily, problematic when stressed. I don’t really wear make up like that so I’m sure that helps me. Dealt with acne my whole life, 35 now. Extra things that helped me a lot was, like Keke said (1) Know thy skin!! Knowing parts of my face breakouts was key. Ex: Time of the month or stressed af=chin breakouts. So study your self, pay attn to WHEN you breakout…it’ll be easier to trace the ‘why’ verses guessing days down the road, (2) keep clean pillow cases, (3) keep hair out your face unless it’s clean, (4) it can and WILL clear up (get your mind right and everything else will fall into place 🤗) I’m not licensed in any of this but I lived and live it and I just wanted to share what’s worked for me. God bless! Hope this helps someone😌. -Peace (Shout out to Keke for the transparency. It is a sensitive topic but sharing our stories gives hope. You helped someone with your video more than just the regimen. Keep spreading great energy! Best to you😌🙏🏾)

Thanks for sharing your journey Keke. I am in my 50s now and have suffered with acne since elementary. I still have breakouts that leave dark spots. Over the years I too have found what works and what doesn't and found for ME.. that black dermatologist was best suitable for my skin treatments because he understood how certain products react to our skin/melanin skin and what dries out my skin and how sun still damages our skin as well. Black folk DO NEED SUNSCREEN!! I found that products with benzoyl peroxide made my dark spots worse vs using products with salicylic acid. Also, hot water is not good for our skin.. use warm to cold water is best. Not to use rough and hard cleansing routines on our skin..it makes it worse.. YOU CANT WASH ACNE AWAY,, SO DONT ABUSE YOUR FACE. 😊Also, for years I used Rx compounds with hydroquinone, 3-6%, to lighten my dark spots that as recently as 2 yrs ago, I feel has contributed to me having cataracts due to hydroquinone is a STEROID. So be very careful if using a form of hydroquinone near your eyes or only spot treat. Use with caution. Retina dried my skin out so much I had to discontinue that years ago. I took so many meds by mouth for years until I got tired.. I refused Accutane due to all the SERIOUS MENTAL HEALTH SIDE EFFECTS.. So, you're so right..caring for acne is such a stressful nd continuous journey. Thanks for sharing.🥰🙏

Hey Keke!!! Definitely empathize with you. I've had cystic acne since I was 11 years old. Always self conscious, never took pics & didn't like to look people in the eye. Over time, I had to learn my triggers & find what works best for me. The main thing I discovered is due to genetics (dad had bad acne as a teen), I had to focus on my diet then built a skin care regime from there. We got this fellow sister.
