I love how Avril looks and sounds like she's so young without being immature or like she's trying hard to be. She just naturally vibes really vibrant youthful energy inside and out. She's so unique and awesome.

I love Avril so much, always have. But she’s always had a tendency to be somewhat withdrawn and awkward in previous interviews. This is the most relaxed I’ve ever seen her in an interview and it really is a testament to Kelly, not only as a talk show host, but also to who she is as a person. This was really great to watch and I would give my first born for that Breakaway duet.

I love both Avril and Kelly’s versions of Breakaway! They were my two favorite singers in my early teens. I can also relate to both versions of the lyric “ Grew up in a small town, and when the snow/rain would fall down…” My hometown is snowy in winter and rainy in spring and fall 😅

Alanis and Avril were and are everything!!! This Canadian girl had their music on blast since they both hit the scene.. and they are incredible artists representing women in the music business to this day!!! Love that Kelly finally got to share these thoughts with Avril on that day!!! Wonderful!!!! It's always amazing to watch women celebrating each other and their accomplishments!!! Avril and Kelly have been my favorite singers since the early 2000s, and I've always wanted to hear them collaborate on a song together. I'd love to hear them record a duet of "Breakaway," but I'd also really love for them to do a brand new song. Kelly said it here, so I hope they follow through!

I am proud to say I still own both of their first albums. A major memory of a spring break trip was my 3 friends and I playing my copy of Avril on repeat for a 7 hour drive, both ways. It was a therapeutic drive for us all. Kelly's first album was and still is my most loved burned cd. Both are QUEENS and I love that they are still relevant in a positive way even after almost 20 years in the industry!

Avril Lavigne may have done the original version of Breakaway, but, to me, Kelly Clarkson's version is the one that remains in my heart. It was my Primary School Leavers song 14 years ago and it was THE Leavers song to have even before I left. Whenever I listen to Kelly Clarkson's version of Breakaway, I feel like I've been transported back to my Primary school days, hanging out with my Primary schoolmates, playing football, playing rugby, playing cricket, attending music concerts, going swimming on Wednesday mornings, having end of term disco's, etc.

Difference between songwriters and performers. "Breakaway" and "Happier Than Ever" are both well-written songs but Kelly Clarkson (who's a talent vocalist) does a better job than the original writers of performing them.

Preferably recorded as a single you can buy, but the two of them just singing Breakaway together on a stage and watching it on RU-vid would still be one of the best moments in my life. I love how genuinely connected they are. I almost feel like the transparency they are sharing with one another makes it inevitable that I would really want them to discuss the very first moment in which they met. Those of us who remember Kelly on the first season of American Idol remember that she presented an award to Avril Lavigne at the MTV video music awards that year. When Avril grabbed the award from Kelly, she blatantly pushed her and dismissed her as a non-artist. I would love to hear Avril Lavigne recognize that behavior and possibly even offer Kelly an apology.
