It takes a lot of courage to walk away from something that you know isn't gonna work. It's selfless to say "I'd rather move on than hurt you." ,than to stay for your own benefit knowing you're gonna hurt someone. To me,that's commendable.

As I prepare to celebrate my 11 year marriage anniversary, I tear up listening to this song. I remember THE worst fight my wife and I had and at that day I thought we weren’t gonna make it. I praise God we made it through! I honestly cannot imagine my life without her.

I must have a stone cold heart now because this song didn’t hit me like it did everybody else. I lost my husband in 2018 to cancer and I never imagined being a widow at 56. Count your blessings not your troubles.💕💕💕

Far and away her best work. I remember back in the mid 2000s she was cranking out hit after hit, several very good, memorable songs but this is a little different. Certain songs are just well suited to be sung by someone in particular, she fits the mold here. Very deep, solemn and an epic performance.

So it's 10 at night where I am and I've just been watching so many Kelly Clarkson music videos and I realized that she's now my favorite singer she has a beautiful voice and beautiful messages in her songs.

I was in an "old songs marathon" when the lyrics finally hit me after all these years. Six months ago my fiancé broke up with me after six years of relationship. Even though it was his decision (and it left me heartbroken), I now see there was no way foward to us and I could imagine myself singing this to him. *also bawling my eyes out*

I remember how much I loved my ex gf. Loved her like no other. Yet she was not at my maturity level and often was disrespectful and verbally abusive due to previous relationships she had been in. I did everything I could to make it work but I realized she needs to work on herself. So I had to walk away even though I truly loved her. I learned you can't love someone else unless you love yourself. The day she loves herself I hope she finds someone who treats her like I did and she treats that man better than she treated me.

I believe people who have the courage to let go when they know it's the right choice display a great sense of true emotional understanding. It takes a lot of character to do what's right. If a relationship isn't healthy for BOTH people, you should end the relationship!

no matter how much you love each other. some relationships doesn't work. e.g. because of value differences, trust issues etc. its really sad. but instead of prolonging the pain, the wise thing to do is to let go and let the other party go for the greater happiness for the future. - that is what this song reminded me and i thank kelly clarkson for that.

I am dying with cancer and I hid the fact from my now ex for over a year. I did everything to drive him away and finally did without telling him to save him from the pain. I loved him more than anything and still do. Only after the fact did I tell him, but things maybe would have turned out better if I would have been upfront. Dying alown is even harder. This song makes me think of him even more. I will always love him!!!
