Forget the women on the covers of magazines. If anyone could be a role model to girls it's Kelly Clarkson. She is the most humble, yet at the same time confident woman who is willing to share her vulnerability and pain. She has been thin, she has been a bit heavier at times, but all of the time she is wonderful, someone anyone would be proud to call friend.

I also admire how she seems to consciously remind herself that it's not just girls who experience certain struggles even if it's mostly just the girls who are talked about. She says it that way at first and then goes "No, Kelly, don't make assumptions, this is a people problem and not just a girl problem and that needs to be acknowledged!"

I've seen Kelly twice in the past and I have to say, she is amongst one of the VERY few artists, that gets me emotional. Kelly, thank you for working with songwriters that create MEANINGFUL songs, and god bless your talent. Thank you for helping me conquer the fear of judgment and never giving up even when my life can get dark sometimes. You don't know how much you mean to me. Bless you and your lovely family. I lost my son in an automobile accident December 17th 2006, he had just turned 21. his blood dad came to the funeral after not having anything to do with him for 21 years. my mother in law ran him off . I was so blessed to find my husband and his mom and dad my son was six weeks old when we got together we have been together for over 30 years now. just keep being you kelly your awesome.

Oh man - this was so awesome! I loved the way she announced her pregnancy - it was so heartfelt and genuinely sweet. She has such an endearing vulnerability about her which makes her incredibly lovable.
Talk about role model. I 💟this woman! She is an amazing singer, Mother, Wife, author and most of all awesome person. She deserves everything that's good!
She sang this in Indy, as well. While it doesn't necessarily relate to me, I could not help but to cry. The emotion and energy she put into this song is so damn special and I'm glad I got to see it live.
I love how in this video she was so chill about everything! I always see famous singers perform their song perfectly and everything goes to plan, and yeah i like it that way. But once and a while its nice to see that sometimes they mess up too and thats ok :)

I totally understand how she feels because my grandma’s parent’s divorced when my grandma was only 7 - her dad was an alcoholic and somewhat abusive toward her mom - through it all my grandma remained positive - she grew up and married an amazing man named Barry who treated her and her children the way that her father couldn’t and to this day she is one of the most positive people I know - she has been living alone since Barry passed away in March 2009 - (luckily my mom’s sister lives down the road ) however we all are trying to give her the rest of her life she wanted and continuing treating her the way Barry treated her !! Piece by piece she picked up the broken parts of her life and began to find new love and hope in her husband and children and family !!!
I can see how difficult this song is for her and I certainly can identify with her. I'm the youngest of 7 and never had a father around and we were taken away from our mother when I was 6.Foster homes , girl's school , aunt &uncle another aunt and finally married with a kid at 17 .What a life . Nothing could have peppered me for what was to come . So listening to this song break's my heart no wonder she still cries when she sings it . She is very good at getting in touch with her emotions and you can feel her pain , it's one that never goes away . My parents are both passed a long time now but they sure left a bunch of screwed up kids to figure life out . That's what happens when you don't have guidance to show you what a real family is .I wish I could have done better with my own kids but afraid I wasn't any better of an example than my own parents and it bothers me every day of my life . Just being honest here .

This song always makes me cry. My father wasn't in my life. I'm kid number 11. My dad slept around. My sister and mom are just 4 1/2 years apart and my brother is 10 months older than me from the 2nd wife. Yeah I have a daughter now and she has a great dad.

Laughed too hard when she said "this next song is so sad" and laughed XD idk if "because of you" is about her family also but if it is it's like that's the sad story and "piece by piece" is the heartwarming sequel where she let herself love in spite of it all and I love that so much.
