Wow, this performance already has more than 240 thousand views, thank you very much❤ for watching this video here on the channel. Kelly Clarkson is one of the greatest vocalists of this generation and deserves all the praise, she deserves it a lot.❤💙
She really gets the song - the intonation compared to the original is quite close. Great performance - there is a reason she won season 1 of American Idol.
@@Buc_Stops_Here She would have won every season if she was allowed to participate. I think she is the best pop / ballad vocalists currently on the planet. (and has been for a while)
@@avensnow I very much hope you're not talking about her live performance at the grammy's, that was abysmal if you ask me. Like a lot of modern singers, she simply couldn't sing the thing live at all. Meanwhile Kelly knocks the song out of the park, in terms of power, technical ability and raw emotion. Extremely precise with phrasing and perfectly in tune, which seems impossible for a live performance. I can imagine Olivia Rodriguez having a different style, a unique voice that is very different that you might like. Ofcourse she also wrote the song, which is a great thing to do as well. If you prefer her version on the album, I can somewhat understand for these reasons. However, what I've seen her do live was amateuristic at best.
Love the original so much but it’s just absolutely insane to me how Kelly can so nonchalantly sing this song with such ease and what looks to be no real effort and make it sound 10,000x better than it already did.
@@andycarpenter3650 I could agree that the original felt way more personal for Olivia (as it should) than it does with Kelly. I just get way too excited when she covers some of my favorite songs.
Holy shit I can’t believe I used to dislike her voice when I was younger. That control is absolutely insane and her tone adds almost like an emotional punch to it that you don’t get with softer toned vocals
I love the emotion that just pours out of Kelly Clarkson everytime she sings. Even doing covers she is 100% authentic & always makes me feel something. Breathtaking talent. ❤
I’ve listen to this a million times. I loved it! But I just listen to this version for the first time and I’ve finally heard the words. Thank you, I needed this to get passed.
Trevor Noah made a joke that if anyone went over a certain time limit on speeches, the punishment would be Kelly covering one of their songs better than they ever could.
I love her so much. This is such a hard song to sing. She even had to take a lot of breaths during the chorus whereas on the track, Olivia had to do it in one breath. It's really hard. Kelly has lungs & I love everything about this performance. ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
@user-zq1px9yb7g they're different ages so they have very different vibes. Olivia sayi g "girls your age know better" is very different than someone Kelly's age saying it. VocallyI understand what the OP was saying
I prefer Olivia's version too. It's OK to do others covers, but this is starting to become cringe. It's giving the whole I can do it better than you vibes. Shes covering every damn song out there and its not cool!
@@kittkatt032That’s how she opens her show! She’s playing to her strength as a singer and setting her apart from how other talk show hosts open their shows which is usually some sort of monologue. She usually chooses songs that she’s a fan of and those artists themselves are flattered when she does. The difference is, a lot of the time, vocally, she is just better than them. No slight to them, it just is what it is. It’s not her fault their voices aren’t as strong as hers.
Wow why do I feel this version is so much vulnerable and raw. There's actual singing. I like Olivia but I always feel like she's talking in her songs and not really singing. Kelly nailed this song. I hope she puts this on her next album.
Definitivamente Kelly Clarkson puede darse el lujo (y darnos el lujo) de hacer lo que quiera con su voz, además siempre que interpreta canciones de otros lo hace con mucho respeto! ❤
Kelly Clarkson is the better singer. But there is a quality of angst and authenticity in how Olivia Rodrigo sings it that this doesn’t quite match. This sounds like a great singer singing the song. Olivia sounds like she is baring her soul.
I love that music speaks to so many people and that people like her and people like us can use it as a way to heal ourselves or as an outlet to explain how we feel her voice has always had such a personal sound like we can feel her emotions in them she's amazing :)
That was so good it made me cry, I never had someone’s voice make me feel melancholy . Kelly’s voice reminds me of happy feelings from when I was 8 years old singing with my twin and mom in the car. I know the lyrics and harmonies to all the kelly songs🥹🥰 I got that ish down, she said,” but said you been gone I can’t believe for the first time”😂🫶🏼
Holy actual crap. Must be quite the thing, for a kid (awesome, wonderful, talented, going-to-be-more-huge, iconoclastic kid) like Olivia, to have her song covered by a legend like Kelly. Awesome. 🥰😁🥰😁🥰
Kelly has been the the only one the OG she can sing everything that is put in front of her with style and grace so thank you Kelly for making me feel better for the few moments of your voice.😀🤘
Olivia just has no vocal talent. She just screams. Far overrated. But everybody has their own opinion. I don’t think Olivia would be noticed or in the public eye if she hadn’t started first on Bizaardvark.
@@carleym4579thats not objectively true.. Liv has a lot of vocal training and to be at her level of control it requires talent, discipline and a lot of work c:
@@lagrimas.de_flor sure because she uses heavy auto tune and reverb. You can literally hear it. She sounds nothing like that live. The only thing she has is breath control, but that isn’t what makes you a good singer. She’s not competitive in a sense. She’s nowhere near where the other artists in her age group are at. Tate is far more ahead. Sabrina is insanely popular, Natalie can hit some impressive notes but also needs work on her control and I think her songs would be better if mixed a little differently. Jessie Murph, has such a unique sound and it’s very pretty, breath control is there, and she can hit some riffs I’ve never seen before like Tate. Olivia’s songs fall flat and are not even remotely close to the standard being accepted nowadays
We all know Kelly can sang, I would throw a shoe at her. But she put herself first and she figured it out and I respect that so much because that's a longshot.
This was originally a Christmas song written for someone who didn’t want it.. and then Per Gessle removed the bells and rewrote it and oh my god it’s a banger 🥳
Just swapped to the grammy performance of Olivia Rodrigo herself. I almost feel sorry for her when I hear this version by Kelly Clarkson. That said, let's not bog down into not being nice and celebrate a great song and a great performance like this. I truly think this is amazing
Y’all are reaching, she did very well but her cover lacks the personality of the original lol she obv surpasses in technique cause she has lots of years in the industry
