One of my favorite Trisha songs. I usually don't like "new" versions of songs I love, but Kelly nailed this one while putting her own little twist on it. Awesome job!
Kelly can sing anything and yes, Trisha Yearwood is one of the all-time great voices in country music and Kelly sure did her very , very proud ! Kelly , I am so glad you are now a part of country music as well as pop. There is nothing you cannot sing .
I hear your truth, Kelly!!! Trisha Yearwood is da bomb and she is absolutely, unquestionably one of the prettiest women I've ever seen. She's also from Georgia (Cummings, GA) and I'm a Savannah boy!!!
Kelly is more "country" than most of the female singers passing themselves off as "country" nowadays (Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood). She is an amazing vocalist no matter genre of music she sings..and she's not afraid to expose her audience to other genres like country. I'm even more impressed at her humility and her 'down to earth' persona.
It's a point of view... But it's funny, I actually LOVE that she doesn't dress up too much to her concerts, I really do, cuz it shows how much she's a dedicated singer and you see, she's not a performer but still does an amazing concert cuz cares mostly about the quality of her music. There's no fancy choreography or scenarios. I love it that she doesn't care about any of it, she's just very real on stage and wears shirts of the bands she loves, it shows the real Kelly. :)

Yes when you have vocals like hers you don't need all that extra stuff! I laughed when she said God by passed her 7 times for voices.. yeah right Kelly!! I'm my opinion she's the greatest vocalist ever!
Kelly, Kelly, Kelly. I've loved your voice since I heard your on American Idol. You only get better. I still have a hard time believing you hit those very high notes! (But I know it's you :)
Who are you to condemn someone for following their dreams? What would you say to YOUR haters, when you decided to follow your own? She's from the "great" ole' USA, where you CAN follow your dream, and this girl, has a got a voice from out of this world. If YOU don't like it, don't bloody listen to the song. Simple. Kudos to Kelly for realizing her dream and following it, despite what the naysayers have to say.
I love Kelly's version of Walkaway Joe. I would love to hear a recorded duet with Trisha and Kelly doing this song or another new one ... They would compliment each other's voices so well. Side note, I think Kelly needs to hire a fashion consultant though to flatter her better, & more professional now that she is a big performer.
They did sing this song together, it's was on Trisha's cooking show for Food Network. in the search engine type: trisha yearwood kelly clarkson walk away joe it's near the end after their done cooking, it's not the whole song but they did great.
I Agree with you, I totally hate her wardrobe when she tours, its so ugly, I don't mind the black pants, but those shirts make her look bad and she is so beautiful!!! and if you have see her in person,you know I'm not lying..she is gorgeous!!!! but she said this herself, she does not care about fashion and she likes to be comfortable on stage, but she should care a little....just a little bit more ;) I love her by the way...so talented.
I dont thinknshe did her best here....something is off and too fast and the sound isnt right.....I wish she wouldn't be to "breathy " when she sings because she dies have a great voice

Great cover once again!!...Love Kelly...Let me address something else though...I've seen Kelly look fantastic for her television appearances..She look fantastic in a dress....But the clothes she wears on stage on tour are not up to par with a Star of her caliber. The brightly printed tank tops and the skin tight black pants which make up most of her wardrobe on tour is just plain ugly. I know your gonna say that she dresses for comfort...but thats no excuse for ugly Love Kelly though
Catherine Mead not even close, come on now seriously, u know good and well she did not sing that better than Trisha! First off she was way off key, plus she was way to fast (that song is not a fast pace song at all), then that ridiculous belting at the end was so uncalled-for! I like Kelly Clarkson but she can not do covers at all. She needs to stick to her own songs!!
It's like she's trying to mix Trisha Yearwood and Tanya Tucker... and its a disservice to both of the country legendary ladies.... she needs to stick with being Reba's latest duet partner...
