And he technically still should have won the fight (almost by KO in the late rounds) but the judges robbed him once more, because a dirty opponent and a corrupt/blind referee weren't shitty enough apparently.
it was actually over 80 times there was a video that went viral on facebook counting every lowblow with footage he did against Loma. It was absolute bullshit that referee should lose his job
ESPN Top Rank rankings OFFICIALLY changed Lomas record to 14 - 0 - 1 which makes it a draw now. And without a doubt Salido in that fight needed to be disqualified for all those damn low blows on Loma. Ref acting as if he’s blind. Worst referee ever. Lomachenko would literally embarrass the shit out of Salido now.
Lomachenko is a brilliant boxer. The best skill set I’ve ever seen. I tell you this though. His entertainment factor is off the charts. You know your gonna see action bc he’s an action fight. It’s crazy to say considering how great he is defensively. He makes opponents miss constantly but more importantly in his fights you don’t see running, clinching or any real lulls in the fight. His pace is unreal. He’s a real boxing treasure and I hope he gets the big fights and continues to succeed. He’s just a tremendous pleasure to watch.
@@Nuggifresh what's the challenge. A lot of people said Rigo.. who now? What calibre of fighter would he have to do the same thing he has done to everyone else for you to credit him with the same praise?
On god like Lomachenko at the end of the day wasn't at least outboxing the fuck outta salido while dealing with lowblows the whole fights. Motherfuckers are stupid.
Brendan Jackson think I’ve seen enough going thru a few scrolls and haven’t seen such talk, but it’s possible I haven’t got the time you do to invest and waste in finding the naysayers. from what I’ve seen - most agree that loma got cheated in that fight.
Salido came really overweight fought really dirty (and got away with it). Even then, Salido got a split decision the majority still thought Lima won. That says it all.
Tracey Taggart he came in really overweight, it’s not like he missed it by a pound or 2. The fight was at 126 and he came in like 140 plus and yes he was hitting Loma low all night and the ref never did anything. Had the ref took one point it could have been a draw. On top of all that most people did think Loma did enough to win because the punches that were low should have never been counted as landed blows which if u remove all the fouls Loma out landed him by a large amount.
@@marcuslarwa9098 He came in 137 10 pounds over. Loma is good but yet to be great. He couldn't adjust with salido low blows or not he lost. Lesson learned I guess. I'd like to see him step up in competition.
Miami Vice he fought a 12 round championship fight in his second fight from fighting 3 3 min rounds or 4 2 min rounds. Fighters don’t do that until their 20 something fight. He’s fought 10 out of 13 champions. He’s tried to fight everyone title holder in every weight class he’s been in and had to keep moving up to get fights. He’s called out the biggest names in all the weight classes he’s been in. Not sure what else he could do other then move up again but he’s already fighting in a weight class he’s to small for. Your holding him to higher standards then any other fighter in the history of boxing.
Here we are a year later and Lopez has put a whooping on lomachenko and his Matrix style boxing can't wait to see the results of that in the analyst community
Lmao if there was a rematch he would getting fucking destroyed he had 14 months off, also you gotta take in the fact he is a small lightweight taking on the biggest lightweight in boxing.
@John Boice What's even more sad is that even counting these as regular punches Loma still outlanded him, had him gassed by the end and almost knocked him out in the 11 and 12, except the referee was quick to gift the mexican some completely arbitrary recovery time. Still, after all this unfairness and coming out on top anyway, Loma was did dirty from the judges as well.
let Pavlik talk dude, he was just about to explain his championship situation when he was chanp and you totally cut him off man, please let guests finish , love the show dude but that can be frustrating.
Mike Canova Joe Rogan is normally really good letting his guests speak, I think he was just that excited to see the record on screen he got a bit carried away with himself, 🤷♂️
I'm a huge fan of Loma, but when Joe rants about how quickly into his professional career he won a world championship, I'm like, you do realise he had 396 amateur fights before that, including gold at two consecutive Olympics, right? The real question is why it took him so long to turn pro?
I think it is because he wanted to make a massive mark on history. How hard is his amateur record going to be to better? Fastest to world championship, fastest to 3 division, I’m not sure if fastest to unify a division is a thing, but I really think he wants to be a historical name, and he is accomplishing that. The number of fights he’s fought with the number of losses he has is insane
I agree. Even now he’s still undeniably one of the most skilled boxers today. As long as he bounces back and gives us a few more good dominations of world class fighters then the Lopez loss won’t overshadow him that much.
When I boxed amateur, I did ballet for 2 weeks. Not a long time, obviously, but that alone somehow triggered something in my mind that made my footwork SO much better. Thought process changed. Thought of it as an art instead of a crude brawl.
Lomachenko's footwork is SO RESPONSIVE it's unreal. It's like the connection from his BRAIN to his FEET is 100X faster than EVERYONE ELSE WHO'S EVER LIVED.
That was my favorite time in boxing, Taylor was my favorite until I saw Pavlik on that undercarriage against Miranda, and I swear, I was rooting against Taylor, for Pavlik when he Ko'd Taylor. I was sad when he retired, and pissed when he wouldn't punch back against Hopkins.
Lomachenko is so good that I am still watching him trying to figure out what it is he knows that we don't. He is the only boxer I feel is sort of reinventing boxing in a way. I honestly think he sees things so quickly and is able to respond accordingly that to the rest of us normal people it just looks like his opponent sucks.
Orlando canizales is the small fighter who originally made it real popular to pivot quickly or step quickly around opponent or even switch up stance quickly just to land a good shot from a different angle. He was one of the most dominate champions in 118 pound history in boxing and an all time great in that unpopular weight class... originally he was the guy in boxing that left people in awe in terms of footwork...
He is dumb as fuck actually when he said loma can jump weight classes just like Manny did it's dumb when you know that Pac-Man started his pro career at 17 and loma at almost 30 his fucking body can't pack that much weight anymore and i think he is already fighting over his weight class so that's dumb as fuck considering that shit coming from a insightful pro.
@@jeffpatterson1803 What are you talking about dude ahah he's got KOs on his record and don't forget we're talking about lightweights and featherweights. He's not going to slug like a Heavyweight or Middleweight lol
And missed weight. There's a reason lomachenko fought someone else for the same exact vacant title in his next.fight against someone else. Lulz. And even so, he said he felt the decision was fair. Can't call him a sore loser even though there was some shady shit going on there
1:16 And that's exactly what happened to him vs Teo. Loma was my favorite, but Teo fought with the style everyone predicted might be Loma's kryptonite & walked away with the W.
Dee Kuz Roy’s foot work is no way comparable to Loma. Roy did cover a lot of ground but loma sets everything(!) off his foot work. It’s Lomas’ best weapon aside from his iq. I like Roy I always felt his foot work was his weakest attribute. If you want to see a boxer similar to RJJ look up josh pb kelly.
Salido weighed well over the limit for that fight, climbing in the ring at nearly 20 lbs heavier. Salido was never once warned or had points taken away.
Loma went and watched the old greats. Marciano always crouched to the right and parried your jabs, the old school guys would hit you in the shoulders and arms. He trains his reflexes and speed with balls.
No, Salido did not win through talent or experience. He threw 41 punches below the belt, without being called on it once and without having a single point docked. Salido did not win that fight.
The salido fight wasn't just about an experienced boxer making the fight dirty, it was straight up cheating and the ref was blind. He got punched in the nuts over 20 times and still nearly knocked salido out. Salido lost that fight even cheating, judges were nearly as blind as the ref. Annoying thing is there is no way salido will rematch him. He avenged his only loss in the amateurs, he won't get that chance in the pros.
kmden Rt Negative. Loma is a next generation fighter. He moves better than anyone. Roy was just a fast boxer with skill and very conventional. Calzaghe was closer to Loma in terms of footwork and work rate.
@kmden Rt 🤷🤷🤷 whatever u say... I agree loma doesn't have nearly as much power as Roy Jones that's a given. But man, my eyes and a lot of other ppls eyes, we like what we see in loma. Once again, I'm a RJJ fan, but I guess I'll get my eyes tested
Salido never beat Lomachenko! He did get the win, but it was obviously fixed. Salido should have been disqualified for an incredible amount of low blows. It was the nastiest and most obvious bs fight I have ever seen.
@@mrmalio I could almost buy the excuse of him being incompetent/blind, but what convinced me Lawrence Cole was straight up corrupted is how he protected Salido from the KO in the last two rounds, stopping the fight without reason to gift the mexican time to recover when he was completely gassed and waving. Even Jim Lampley and Roy Jones called him out on this during the fight.
@@TucoBenedicto they need to do more to make sure in world title fight these judges and referees aren't currupted. Like having an anti corruption panel or something it's happening way too much in boxing now
@@Gyttripin because in the former Soviet countries being an Olympic athlete is preferable to grinding at the lower levels, I'd imagine. Also, maybe he wanted to win another gold at the higher weight (which he did). Only Lomachenko could answer that tho.
@@Gyttripin Because he was winning gold medals and world championships left and right and you usually don't quit when you are the pride of your nation. After the second Olympic gold he decided that the amateurs didn't have anything more for him. He was still just 24 by then, anyway.
People give Salido waaaaaaay too much credit for that "victory" over Lomachenko. 40+ low blows and not one warning. Lawrence Cole had a "D" in all his orify that night
Loma is 100% the most entertaining boxer out there right now. Watching him fight you don't know whether to watch his hands or his feet. The guy is unreal. I hope he fights Garcia then maybe in a year or 2 Gervonta Davis. The way he beat a top fighter like Linares shows how good this guy really is. Linares is a top class fighter and Loma done him good. The only way to have a chance of beating Loma is to go out and smother him and don't let him move, but so far nobody has been able to do that. Even in his fight he lost, he wasn't at his best but he got fucked over by poor refereeing and judging, but he accepted it and learned from it and hasn't looked back since. Loma and Billy Joe Saunders are the 2 most technically gifted entertaining boxers out there right now hands down. Sure canelo, ggg, the big 3 heavyweights, Crawford and uysk are all top fighters but in terms of entertainment and skill saunders and loma are on a different level. It's just a shame about the drug test thing with saunders giving him a setback before his big fight in America with Andrade. The brits and Ukrainians are at the top right now no doubt about it.
@@relativelybasic I think you're probably right, Davis is at the very least 2 years away from being able to challenge him I think, but you're right, Mayweather knows how to milk the cash cow. The longer the fight takes to happen the more money its worth and if Davis loses his stock drops big time for big money fights.
Part of it is that he made the choice to walk away from competing earlier than many others have. Good to see a talented boxer have the smarts to realize that he can't go through too many more wars like that and think more of his long term health.
The argument for Salido winning was not lack of fight experience. Loma had 397 fights. The real problem was 41 low blows by a dirty filthy cheater and a crooked ref who didn’t even dock one point. Boxing is a dirty game run by criminals like King and Aram
Wtf.. U are saying he was not a professional boxer before!? Everyone forgets he has 2 Olympic gold medals or what? This dude was already a pro AND a champ when he began boxing in usa. He embarrassed all those champion's in the ring.. Team loma 🥊💪
Huge loma fan, but not gonna drink the koolaid here: Jose Pedraza was able to neutralize much of lomas footwork and also weathered lomas flurry without too much trouble in the later rounds. His power is lacking in his current weight class and I have concerns about a fight with Mikey.
An0nim0u5 lol😂😂😂😂😂 Mayweather fought more elites and even Anthony Joshua lol😂😂😂😂😂 tell me all the elites lamo has beat elite's not hype jobs or B rank fighters he's a great fighter but GOAT lol not even close
WIKIPEDIA are you smoking crack so basically Charissa Shields is better then loma she got 2 and already unified in 8 fucking fights!!!! And Anthony Joshua has a better resume then lamo these are facts shit if wilder beats Brazil and other top 10 like whyte and kownisk he arguably better but lamo is better then both when it comes to skill I say but goat not even close
@@spartanz9991 Loma's skill set is far superior than any of the fighters I have seen... Don't bore me with the 'sucker punching', 'reactionary' boxer like Mayweather who could not even knock an amateur boxer like Connor in the first 5 rounds let alone 9... Judging by your response I guess no matter what I say you won't even re-consider your reaction... Anyway I don't like boxing as much as it's not a discipline that prepares you to be a real fighter due to its limited skill set but Loma took this sport to another level where even a guy like me is tuned in for each & every one of his fights...
The fact that whenever I ask my Ukrainian friend how he's doing, and he answers with something along the lines of "good, but could be better if not for Russian's", tells me that Vasyl would be unlikely to go on the JRP after this.
Fighting is one of the things that I think I’ll never be good at, I get really nervous and get panic attacks that paralyzed me, at most confrontations. Even watching fighting videos sometimes I get that feeling. Would love to be more brave, but don’t know how to overcome that.
It's tough, you gotta accept your fate, no matter what it may be, and just be resolved to live in the moment. Only then does that fear of future outcomes go away, but that is easier said then done. Usually, you only learn this by acclimating yourself through experience - choosing to face those situations regardless and willing yourself to become more.
Everyone is afraid when in that position my friend but by learning techniques and Co ordination and understanding skill level you can use fear to motivate what happens
Oh I get that too. I think you need to listen to Rory MacDonald talking about how scared George’s st Pierre before every single fight. He says it’s hilarious but georges just overcomes it time and time again.
Erick Quiñones you gotta really get the shit beat outta you in a fist fight. After that you’ll be good. Once you figure out you’re not made outta glass and can take a punch youll wanna fight all the time.
I had this one idiot on youtube try to tell me that Loma blew it in that Salido fight. Even after Salido came in heavier, corrupt ref, corrupt judges, low blows etc.
Lomachenko's father had him learn Ukrainian dancing, traditional for his country. It's rigorous. Joe might look at the colors he wears of his country. It isn't Russia. Kelly Pavlik is awesome. Great to hear him. Let the top pro talk Joe.
