The Ghost!... he would of embarrassed 75 percent of the middleweights out now, Quillin? Jacobs? Lemieux? Andy Lee? think of the top 10, Pavlik would of killed them all. His 2 loses were to crafty great champions. People act like Mancini is youngstown great champ.... Pavlik for such a short career put his name on the map
+MyMiserableLife Ive always said it too ! I believe Kelly was and is one of the best middleweights. He is that old school style and I love it. No one even really knows about him . but yes, I reckon he'd stop 90% of todays middleweights
Its sad in a way that we only got to see this greatness for a short time. From what I have read, Pavlik was sick with bronchitis for the Hopkins fight. Should have backed out, you cant compete against Bernard with any kind of handicap. I think that hurt his confidence and Martinez was just a bad match up. Kelly could still be a big name today if it is what he wanted.
Nigel Benn used to call these guys 'road sweepers'. Amusing to think that Canelo is operating as a middleweight, and he's only half tbe size of Zertuche. Pavlik streight up flattened him, too strong, too good. Old fashioned middleweight punching, awesome!
No way Canelo is half the size of this guy. Zertuche is 5'8 same height as Canelo. Plus Canelo is a muscular dude. While this guy was skinny and flabby.
La vida no vale nada en león Guanajuato, buen boxeador Zertuche en amateur, en profesional se cansaba muy rápido y no administraba sus energías, pablik muy bien usando su distancia y brazos largos y buena pegada.
This was an extremely dangerous knockout. The loser was down for a very long time while being checked on by the doctor. He was knocked out with a vicious punch and just stood there helpless while Pavlik gave him another sledgehammer blow. Lucky he made it out of there alive.
He was taken to the hospital afterwards. I read an article of Zertuche's next fight after this one and the conclusion of the article was that the Pavlik fight had finished him as a fighter.
Strange pavlik couldn't figure out hopkins and Martinez style good enough. The one two of pavlik wasn't enough, the random left hook and lead right is what he needed to counter their hit and run tactics
Which was weird because Taylor schooled Hopkins (gassed hard at the end of the first fight and gave up some late rounds, but easily won the 2nd), but Pavlik beat Taylor twice. It's styles (and circumstances) make fights to the max.
@@gg456stormy Pavlik did rather well against Martinez. That cut early in the fight doomed him tho. Once Martinez cut the other side of his head it was so over. It was a great fight. As a huge Pavlik fan, I was extremely impressed with how Hopkins schooled Kelly. I legit felt bad for Kelly, as his career was likely to never recover from that schooling he took that night.
Jajaja ese es pavlik el que maravilla martines se jacta de ganarle???esyo es la muestra contundente de que martines pelio con puros bultos...yo no se como cotto le dio la pelea votto se desprestigio ganandole al vende humo de martines
