Mayorga was important for boxing people like him were needed to bring back excitement & even tho he wasn’t ever the best , he always stood face to face with other elite boxers & never turned away
Fernando was to good and didn't deserve this loss look at h he looked loose around his waist he didn't deserve that I tell u this he would have kicked canelo ass
It’s easy to forget how dangerous Mayorga was because of his lack of skill. Most of the elite fighters easily outboxed him. But if you tried to brawl with him, he’d hurt you.
A VARGAS LO TIRARON MUY TEMPRANO PARA RUEDO CON LOS TOROS. NO SE REGISTRÓ CON UN BOXEADOR MALO. Y NO ENCONTRÓ QUIEN LO CONSIDERE LO VIERON IGUAL QUE A PIMPINO CUEVAS Y BENÍTEZ. NO VIERON UN BOXEADOR.
@@Cornelius87 A TITO LO TUMBÓ Y TITO CUANDO SE PARÓ LE DIO UN GOLPE BAJO. PREMEDITADO PARA REPONERSE, Y CON DE LA HOYA. SUBIÓ ARREBATADO, PERO COMO NO ERA TAN POPULAR LO TIRARON PARA LA PRENSA, PORQUE DE LA HOYA SUBIÓ VARIAS VECES ENDROGADO. CHÁVEZ. , TAYSON, BENITE, GOMEZ EL CHAPO, Y DESENAS MAS PERO LA OMB. CONTRUYE Y DESTRUYE,,,
It looks like Mayorga took it easy on him in the second round. He had him against the ropes but back off the kill. I really think he was holding back for whatever reason. I think we would had finished him off in the second had he wanted.
yeah, ain't that the truth, Boxing styles are like the game Rock Paper Scissor, Forrest, Mosley, and Mayorga is the perfect example of this, Mosley loses twice to Forrest, Mayorga beats Forrest in their 1st fight by KO in the 3rd round and then beats him again in the rematch by UD, then Mosley KOs Mayorga
Wolf THE GREAT Alpha he was never the same before that when he faught de la hoya. Vargas he faught top fighters too early in his career that he wasn't ready for that's what fucked him up
He Shoulda focused on training and not on thug life. Strong but undisciplined and weak chin plus no defensive skills. Typical big mouth underachiever And a douche..
This guy was washed up by the time he was 25 years old. Vargas was fed to the wolves too soon. The kid hadn't learned to properly defend himself against a left hook yet. Tito, ODLH, and Moseley crushed him with left hooks. Had Team Vargas shown just a bit more patience, I think Fernando could've become a monster. His outside the ring antics like drinking alcohol, partying, thugin, drugs also played a part in ruining the young man who could've been great, hall of famer.
Mayorga was always going to be in an exciting fight, as he was bringing it every round. Always rude and obnoxious, but definitely a very colorful personality who brought some life into the ring. Most of Mayorga's bit was done to hype the occasion and it always worked. He did legitimately beat Vernon Forrest, and it put Mayorga, on the map.
He didn't deserve that loss or to be fighting at that point in his career he looked like Tyson in Tokyo a little loose around the belt loop sometimes u gotta have the right advisors or dare I say a team I'll rem Fernando for being a real Mexican warrior and a student of the game writers forget that he could do both but he carried the torch Ill tell u this he fought in the third greatest era in boxing history in his prime I think he would have beaten canelo give you're thoughts I interested in all opinions but expessially the Latino comm thanks
Cómo van a estar calmaditos ?? Ja,ja
It was a washed up vargas. Who at this point was stopped by de la hoya mosley 2x and tito and he was retired for years got really fat lost a ton of weigt for this fight so yeah he didnt beat a great vargas
Vargas was one of those dudes. He was good but once he lost his air of invincibility after getting knocked out he was never the same fighter. Like a dude playing normal sports who gets hurt the first time & never makes it back. Always in his head.
There was a reason Vargas stated this to be his last fight. The fire was gone and he hated dieting/training by that point. He knew it was time, therefore he looked bad this fight
Kirk is right. I loved watching Vargas because you knew it was going to be a war with someone getting ktfo. Boxing needs more warriors like Vargas. Too bad he couldnt control his weight. Gotta remember Vargas was on his way to knocking out Trinidad before Felix hit him with 3 damn hard low blows and robbed Vargas of a signature win.
Yeah right, after Tito dropped him two times in the first round. He fought bravely, he has a lot of heart, but Tito was 100x better than him, no question.
Fernando Vargas would've bulldozed his way through the junior middleweight division today. Just imagine the beating he'd give someone like jermell charlo..these boys out here forgot about that era of fighters. No ducking, fight everyone, & go to war.
I think Mayorga would actually make himself hate his opponent. I think that's what where most of his aggression came from and threw defense out the window
@soufeazy I totally LOL'd on that one. Vargas, to his credit, was an exciting, balls-to-the-wall warrior. He played the "villain" role extremely well. And, every fight needs a villain.
Vargas was without a doubt bothered by all the prefight blusters and antics by Maryorga. Mayorga won the mental battle before the fight which abled him to win the physical fight.
