Kelly Sullivans comes back to Buffalo, NY to visit her great grandmother's ship! She talks about her family in our Sullivans Memorial Compartment aboard USS The Sullivans, DD-537.
We engage her with what it means to be a Sponsor of a Navy ship, what she learned from her great grandmother, Alleta Sullivan.
It's so energizing to have Kelly on board,. She embodies and embraces the sacrifices of the five Sullivan Brothers, and in a larger context, all American families who have sacrificed loved ones.

Another SUI graduate, BSEE ‘58. Brother , Claude Mergenthal FC2 served in The Sullivans from commissioning until spring ‘45 when he was transferred home to learn an advanced fire control system. Hope to visit soon.

I just viewed your talk at the Clinton school in 2012 and was humbled by you talk. I just love the way that Americans have so much respect for their veterans! Here is Australia, we have all the woke people trying to run our veterans down and 1 state has just recently passed Legislation to remove the naming of our Anzac Day from their holiday list!! If only we had the graciousness of America. Fantastic work Kelly.
