After a long wait, Kelly's Theos f90 is finally here! I got mine yesterday and figured it would be a good idea to make a quick video about it. Kelly's promo video: • THE ALL-NEW KELLYS THE...
I've pulled out the battery, measured it and made some photos. It has a small bike bottom fender screwed onto it so I'll provide measurements for both with the fender and without the fender. Battery without fender: 43cm long, 9cm wide and 7cm tall. Battery with fender: 58cm long, 13cm wide and 10cm tall. It weights 3.8kg with the fender (without it could be something like 3.7kg or 3.6kg as it's super light). Photos: imgur.com/a/UY863Gt
Yeah, at least the front. It's quite tiring to go fast with this huge tractor tire. It's probably for super hard rocky terrain which we don't have much of around.
Awesome Bike Dude! I waiting for mine, too. can you please tell me the diameter of the seatpost clamp? I want to buy the lupine C14 Backlight which replace the seatpost clamp. much appreciate. RIDE ON!
Thank you so much for finally showing this Bike in real! I hope i get it finally next month too. But im little dissapointed about the weight. You said 24 kg. Kellys promised me last month on the telephone that the weight in Large is exactly 22,4kg and i thought with lighter tires i can bring it to 21kg. :( Can you please make a video about to remove the Battery and the Battery Size? I want to buy a Bagpack for it an Kelly didnt reply about this Question.
It's 24kg with the footpegs (they were not included when the bike arrived) but I doubt they are more than like 1kg. I also bought the little front mud fender but it's plastic should shouldn't weight too much. Not sure what else could be causing the additional weight. Maybe my weight scale is off? I can try to re-weight it again. Yeah, I can remove the battery and measure it. Will reply later.
Just found out the shifter beeping sound can be easily turned on/off from the menu. After a bit of more riding, I found out you need to do a little bit more preload on the rear suspension as more weight is put on that by default. I'd say the front is for the initial jump impact and the rear takes most of the bumps during normal riding. The major win seems to be the geometry. My brother has the Focus Jam2 and even with just one battery it feels heavier (while it's not) and less agile. I had a Bafang powered bike before and this feels like a huge upgrade so far! Let's see how it goes after more riding.
Yep, that's what we know so far. The M version with some modifications could be perhaps suitable for you but not sure. The L in the stock form is definitely too large for a 175cm person (tried that). It's rideable but not the best.
I don't really understand that bottle cage placement though. If I use let's say 750ml bottle which is longer, am I supposed to hit my balls every time i get out of saddle or what :D ..otherwise the design and geometry seems nice and very up-to-date. Enjoy.
I'm 188cm tall and if I wear normal cycling spandex I don't even notice it. However, when I wore regular trousers they touched the top of the bottle a bit when dismounting the bike. I have a large bottle though (around 750ml or a bit more). I think we can be glad it's even there. Some bikes like these don't even have the mount. I guess you can always use a water bag.
Yes, much better, thanks! Hmm, I've never done a riding video. 😅 But I can tell you it rides very well! Even though I'm super amateur, I'm almost able to keep pace with my brother who has a trial bike (Focus Jam2) as the geometry of Kelly's is just really good. Smaller jumps and "scary" trails become almost nothing. You just throw yourself, keep holding the handlebars and go.
Also, sometimes I forget it's an ebike. It doesn't feel like one. Only when I forget to turn the bike on I can feel how untrained my legs are 😂 you can easily keep pace with any XC riders up hills (while the battery lasts for ever) and then you gotta wait for them on the way down 😁
@@Varkreker Thanks for the reply. You know that you actually made the first and only video of this bike until now, there are no reviews not even pictures of this bike on the internet😎So I think people are interested in the bike and even in the opinions and experiences of an „amateur“, so keep on posting mate 😅
@@MTB_Luxembourg I know, that's why I rushed to make it (next day I picked it up) to be the first :D. I think I'll try to do the second video over the weekend but we'll see. Just did the first service after 210km. Nothing major, a few squeaks here and there (mostly seat but we just fastened the bolts). The frame got a tiny paint scratch due to brake cable scrubbing against it (didn't notice). We put a transparent protective sticker there and moved the cables so no biggie.
Hi, When you buy a bike in a physical store, they usually give you a good discount. Could you tell me how much it cost you exactly? (It's my dreams ebike)
I got a discount as the store owners are friends but since ordering it (mid 2020) everything went up a lot so they were hesitant with giving a bigger discount as that would mean zero profit for them.
@@Varkreker I understand, anyway in Spain there is no Kellys distributor, so I will have to wait, but I would like to know how much you have paid for it, with all the discounts applied.
@@alejandromartos5610 Yeah I understand. However, since the bike is super new and not widely sold I'd like to keep this info private for now. However, you can view the dealer's price on their site: www.sportservis.sk/horske-celoodpruzene-e-bicyke/kellys-theos-f90-2927.5-720wh-2021/ I got the 18" frame from the picker. Deduce some discount and you'll arrive at the price. :)
