Greastest player of All Time!! Had the pleasure of meeting him when i was a kid and the footage from the day was made into a commercial that aired for about a year...greatest moment of my like will never forget it....2016 Hall of Fame baby!!
That was PERFECT!! Great job putting foo fighters song to his highlights. Griffy was my hero as a kid growing up, still is, even if retired. Sweetest swing in baseball :)
He was Showtime on a Baseball Diamond. Ken Griffey Jr. electrified the field like no other player before. Watching Junior play ball was like witnessing a birth or 4th of July Fireworks as a child. He left you in Awe. And no Steroids for this Man amongst boys. Bonds, McGwire, Sosa, etc... bow down to Griffey's Greatness & Integrity.
i live in Cincinnati and i was lucky enough to see Griffey play. i was 7 when he came to the Reds and i was ecstatic. Im 19 now and even seeing all the talent in major league baseball (Votto, Fielder, Kemp, Hamilton) I can safely say that there is nobody better than Ken Griffey Jr. He is the man, the myth, and the legend.
i love Hamilton but Griffey for sure. in my honest opinion i think he's the best player who ever lived. when i have my son im gonna teach him everything i know about Griffey and hope to god he idolizes him as much as i did growing up
My favorite player of all-time. Truly gifted, never juiced, but most of all, he LOVES the game. Players like Barry Bonds almost seem as if they're at work. I have a feeling Griffey would've played for lunch money.
I'm from Texas and love my Rangers...was born in 79 and growing up JR was always my favorite player, still got over 200 of his cards...I always wonder what he could have done minus the injuries...
are you kidding? look at his sming, his play in the field and his effort- this guy gave 100 percent effort and made the Seattle Mariners relevant in the 90's. He is the most gifted, and natural Baseball player i've ever seen and he did things the right way, you should be ashamed for making that statement
Growing up watching the Mariners in all their greatness was an honor. Ken Griffey Jr. and Ichiro just seem like class acts. Always gave their fullest and play hard, and both seem like great guys. Something thats getting harder and herder to find.
Griffey Jr. should have broken the HR record easily. Even with those down years he still came pretty close...my all time favorite player ever! and he never even wore my teams uniform haha
The KID was the definition of baseball. A fan favorite no doubt, a treat in the clubhouse and a prankster. No one can and no one will do it like JR. He also was the inspiration of the backwards ball cap. First ballot with a guarenteed 100% from the BWA... If not theyre smoking grass
almost tear up watching Griffey. Broke my heart when he retired a week before I got to see him play for the last time. Truly is my sports hero. An honest man in unhonest times.
Ken Griffey jr. Definitely best of our time! One of the funnest players to watch!! Smoothest stroke and a great glove in the outfield. He did it the right way!
My top 10 for the past 25 years including pitchers. 1. Ken Griffey Jr. 2. Greg Maddux 3. Albert Pujols 4. Randy Johnson 5. Derek Jeter 6. Pedro Martinez 7. Tony Gwynn 8. Frank Thomas 9. Cal Ripken Jr. 10. Mariano Rivera
The Mariners never were Champions, we're still waiting for that day. And it looks like it might not happen anytime soon with the way management is running things. But we had Ken Griffey Jr. which is almost as good. One of the all time greats of baseball.
Not only was he a natural athlete with the sweetest swing ever, the acrobatics in the outfield and the speed on the bases, but he Always had a smile on his face. He truly enjoyed the game. All around class act. First ballot HOF'er for sure.
this video makes me wanna cry... i can remember being a little kid playing little league watch kg play and saying he was my favorite player... now I'm all grown... Time flys man
You're a lucky man, I got to watch him play against the mets in New York. I picked two bum teams over Yankees vs Redsox in 2004. That's how much i Love griffey.
Funny story of Griffey when I went to a Rangers game with my mom. We were sitting in center field and every time Griffey came out to the field my mom would yell "Griffey! Wave at me" Kept doing it every inning when he came out before the first batter. Got everyone in center field involved. Finally at about the 6th inning when he came out and my mom started to yell it again, Griffey turned around and tipped his hat at her. The whole center field bleachers erupted. Then he started laughing
Griffey is hands down the GOAT (Greatest of all Time) he was my hero growing up. He is a legend. I am a die hard Cubs fan, but I had the chance to see him play the Cubs when he was on the Reds. I seen him smack a long ball down the right field stands...I gave a standing ovation. To see your hero smack a homer in Wrigley Field of all places was amazing.
Griffey may have been one of the only really great home run hitters and players of these last two decades that was a juicer. I always had a lot of respect for the guy
How sad is it that we had a line-up including Ken Griffey Jr., Alex Rodriguez, Edgar Martinez, Tino Martinez, Jay Buhner, Randy Johnson, Chris Bosio, Norm Charlton, etc... and never participated in a World Series?
I know a lot of little leaguers (myself included) who tried to imitate that swing in our games....can't be done, he really is one of a kind. Truly a great player to watch and admire growing up.
2nd-favorite player growing up after MY hero, Mike Piazza of my New York Mets... Both left their teams, the Mariners and Mets...neither should have. But BOTH will go into the Hall with their teams' caps--Mets for Piazza, and only one hat for Junior...M's all the way! Through all the steroids in baseball, those are TWO sluggers, at least, who never had a numbers spike, never hit 73 at 35 years old or so, never had their head grow from ego OR steroids... Mike and Junior all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!
Na your right dude. i never truly feared what any other player would do to the scoreboard like griffey would. horrible to play against but fun as hell to watch.
@BustersTexas He won 7 silver sluggers and 10 gold gloves over the course of a decade. He is the best 5 tool player I've ever seen. Pujols is the best hitter, but doesn't have Griffey's defence. Centre field is the hardest defensive position to play. He's our generations Mickey Mantle, the most talented player of our time and robbed of what could have been the greatest career of all time.
@CAPTJACKRACKHAMZGM Thanks for the props man, but the respect has to go to Griffey, he's poetry in motion, he always in beat. It's likes he's dancing out there. Most of the time I'm just letting the footage play out and he makes the music fit. You should check out some of my other shit. I have a few more highlight videos and some original stuff too. Thanks for the comments too, I love to hear what people think.
This guy absolutely deserves to be applauded by anyone that's ever been a fan of baseball. He was a once in a generation talent on the field, but what defines Griffey to me is he was a self-less star in an era of the absolute opposite. When this man goes to Cooperstown in the near future I truly hope that everyone gives him his due as the greatest player of his generation.
i loved watching him play because he played it the right way. yes no steroids but he was a guy who just loved to be out ththere. always smiling always happy and he realized this was a privilegee not a right to play the game he loved. true class act and great baseball player and great person.
All my favorite ball players when I was groing up ended up being crackheads, dopers or all around douche bags... Canseco, Doc, Straw, Rocket, Rock and Bonds. Griffey was the ONLY stand up guy of them all. Miss you Kid!
