this is a 7 year comment but its kinda symbolic to me, how he utters the phrase and quite literally starts the Rush Hour that Carter and Lee wrap themselves into
Who? Chris Tucker? That leaves other comedians in embarrassment? Or Jackie Chan, that can obviously do both comedy and action? Or the bad guy, that was like a real bad guy, not your muscle bound meat head?
@@alexyancy6018 Thanks man! I saw another clip from the 90s, Die hard, that was a blast from the past. I think the best part was the blood. The last movie I saw blood in was Kill Bill (another oldie but goldie). Actually I know why the gore has lowered, no one is going to cinema anymore so they have to lower the certificate rating. The last time I went, was to see 6 million ways to die in the west, and that came out 2014, before that it was that Jason Statham movie the one where he has to keep his heart going otherwise he dies, I don't remember the name, I saw that in 2006! 😅 Man I'm old, actually again I don't see ages like that, I see them as levels, so I'm at level 37!
Asian-Americans can fake the best accents, I SWEAR! Ken Leung's accent in Rush Hour is only 2nd best after Pat Morita as Mr. Miyagi (from the Karate Kid movies)
He speaks it more well than you can expect of an actor. As a 2nd gen Chinese American, the way he spoke Mandarin on the phone, no one could speak like that without hearing it growing up. Even many Asian American actors butcher their(or their parents') native tongues on screen
@@neihomai8He speaks Cantonese at the docks. On the phone and at the restaurant, he speaks Mandarin. Yeah I dunno. Maybe because that scene was in Hong Kong and so the character spoke what Lee likely spoke. Then again.. Chan also speaks Mandarin to the little girl. Could be that Ratner is just fucking with people. Cheers.

And he so great as the character too. Weirdly enough. His angry face expression reminds me of Jet Li from the movie Unleashed at time. Would agree Kevin 🤔
from the moment I saw this film, there was always something about the villain. I could never put my finger on it as a kid, it haunted me. But now today I think I know. He's just an animal through and through. raw, yet perfectly cast.
When it comes to the triads Ken Leung had that aura on point... One of the best performances of an asian gangster IMO.... Felt like I could buy some keys of heroin off him lol.
oh I've seen these. he is fantastic in SFC. his storyline is the most interesting of all three. Shanghai Kiss is such a sweet movie. he's really good in it - snarky like Miles but more sensitive
lol I was just watching this guy on Law and Order and I was like, Damn he looks familiar. Where have I seen him? Then I looked him up and was like, Oh, duh! He was the villain in Rush Hour! And it's been years since I've seen this show. Guess the guy's got a memorable face.
Brett Ratner gave him a lame superpower. A man with spike out his face😒👎🏾Pff I would've given him a real Asian bad guy character. That exist in the X-Men universe, Shinobi Shaw. That way it would get people to look back on after watching Kevin Bacon from X-Men First Class. His character is the father of Shinobi Shaw.
As a kid i always thought he was Chinese and i used say "i love that chinese actor's accent when he's speaking english". LOL stupid me. He's such a good actor.
Ken Leung Was the Leading Bad Guy as Juntao’s Right Hand Man Named Sang Lee Was Chasing him in Hong Kong from the Beginning And Carter Killed him in the Gunfight he deserved it Rush Hour was one of the best films
