Ken Perlman - Billy in the Lowland 

Ken Perlman on clawhammer solo accompanied by Ruth Rappaport on guitar. Alan Jabbour collected this wonderfully lyrical tune from West Virginia fiddler Henry Reed back in the 1960s. Not at all musically related to the fiddle contest classic, "Billy in the Lowground" this tune first appeared in print in an 1839 work called "Virginia Reels," by George Knauff.
