Kenny was how many seconds ahead of chase who was in third. Dude that was an epic ride and nothing to feel stupid about. As a fan I felt the only time he was pushed like that was the 250 race with Ferrandis and we know how that ended. Kenny your a bad ass and always will be one of the greats.

Hopper covered this a bit. Ken getting the win actually helped Jett close the points gap to chase. And Jett didn’t have to jeopardize anything with a crash. I totally get where Kenny is coming from with a win at the end of a hard battle being his goal and Jett just giving it to him probably felt kinda lame. But brace yourselves, Jett is gonna do a lot of this if it helps him stay healthy. 20yo and faster than everyone currently racing or coming up, only thing that can derail his career is injury and lost confidence. If even when he loses, it’s his choice, no lost confidence. And if he never has to battle hard and get tangled up in a huge crash, cuts down the risk of injury. Dude, I watch Hooper but he is not a smart man lol. What hopper said was untrue, it didn’t change the points. I don’t have an issue with Jetts move but I don’t want to see other people on the same side commenting misinformation. Jett letting Kenny by changed absolutely nothing, no points, no money…not worth risking a crash to battle Kenny for zero gain so I respect what Jett did.
Jett was wrong and it was already cleared up in the post race. It didn't do anything for the point gap because the points are not the combined moto score . The combined score gets you your overall position and you win the points for that position. 50,44,40 are the points that are awarded to 1st-3rd place and wether Jett or ken took first on moto 2 the points would still be the same for Jett,ken and chase.
Saying he decides when to lose is such a cop out, no racer races to lose! Maybe he can get more elegant at letting them by when he chooses to lose and not fight for the win, lmao.
why is it everyone seems bitter over jet letting ken go past, but no one said anything bad when savatgy let tomac go past for the million dollar win at the 2018 monster energy cup??? he didn't wave him by, but still let him pass. i do get that everyone wanted to see them battle, including me. but you can't really be upset at one and not the other! circumstances may be slightly different, but at the end of the day, he let him pass
When was the last time Roczen put in a late moto charge and made a pass for the W? Historically, he was the one getting ran down and getting epically passed.
Jett's lap times slowed about 2 seconds a lap the last 3 laps Kenny wasnt going faster , I don't understand exactly why he did it but I definitely believe he gave it to him . Kenny at times is the fastest guy on the track for about 3 laps never at the end anymore.
Why does everyone seem to think Jett was doing anything except thinking it would give him a points advantage for him over Sexton. He's a 20 year old kid that didn't understand the new points system for SMX and made a mistake. He said in the post race interview that he took a couple laps doing the math. If you think he was charging while thinking over his decision while Rozen was catching him, you'd be wrong. You cant charge and think about other things at the same time. I love Rozen and would love to see him win. But Jett would have just turned it back on if he decided not to make a move for the Championship. Also, the comment about Jett not knowing how to lose? Any true great in any sport will tell you they never learned how to lose. Championship mentality.
Disagree, how do you think Webb and Dungee won titles it wasn't by winning everything it was buy understanding when to take 2nd ect. and Jett and his team will take a 2nd place if needed this SX season to stay healthy and keep it on two wheels.

And that 2nd place also ensured that Kenny would get a better "baby gift" of $50k instead of perhaps getting $25k for 3rd if these brand new playoffs allowed Chase to get 2nd somehow if they both had 5 points. So there is a math argument that makes sense (especially when you're riding a freaking bike in the middle of the race), it would ensure sexton would get 3rd and less SMX points and finally it shows Jett just being a good young kid thinking it would be cool if he get Kenny a guaranteed extra $25k ($50k total) for 2nd place as congrats for his new kiddo. Jett even did his best to lay this out in limited time on the podium. Kenny wasn't catching him and Jett was being a dick.

Jett waved him by on lap 9 The 4 laps prior, Jett ran 3 laps at 1:52 and 1 lap at 1:53 Kenny only ran ONE LAP faster than a 1:53 So HOW exactly was he "catching him"??? Kenny only caught up once Jett backed off to a Dungey pace and waved him by. (All because Jett made a mistake at understanding the points situation)

I agree, maybe Jett comes out this weekend pissed and just hammers down and rides at 100% the whole two mains and beats everyone by like 20 seconds! If I was Jett I’d make the haters eat their words! My problem was with pulling over exaggerated hand wave we've seen people pullover but it's usually for teammates & they don't wave them by. Jett wanted everybody to see that he was waving him by. Either win or slow up but don't wave somebody by

Roczen let Tomac by while leading Washougal 450 moto 2 in 2016. Will admit though that Roczen seems to be the only rider to pace with Jett and we were robbed of good battle. Pulling for Roczen to take this championship!

Doesn’t even matter about triple points, Jett letting Kenny by changed absolutely nothing, no points, no money, nothing. Most people complaining just haven’t learned how the point system works in SMX. What Jett did was the best thing he could do for himself, it sucks to see but it’s the fault of SMX, not the riders.
Wasn't the whole point of Jett waving Kenny through was to put Kenny in between him and Sexton in the overall thus closing the gap to the lead? Yeah triple points coming this weekend but every point counts when a millions dollars is on the line.

The point of the lap times, shows Ken WASN'T catching Jett, WASN'T pressuring him and hadn't run any laps at Jett's pace. So that proves that Ken was only able to close in on Jett AFTER Jett decided to give him the win. I doubt highly that Ken would have been able to pass Jett, if Jett was choosing the preferred lines. Ken would have had to run a faster lap, with a less than ideal racing line. Ken wasn't as fast as Jett in the GOOD lines. He sure wasn't gonna knock a second off his lap times while struggling thru roost and sub quality racing grooves.

Im a fan of both Jett and Kenny. I understand Kenny is pissed and Jett shouldn’t of let him by. If Jett would of just dropped the hammer and finished in first would have been fine. Now with Kenny’s remarks here two things are most likely gonna happen this weekend. Either Kenny is gonna beat Jett outright, or Jett is gonna be pissed and just blow everyone’s door off and win by like 15 seconds! Ken could have a point regarding what he suggests about how Jett does not appear to have learned how to lose as of yet. If you race/raced and if you are/were a top finisher, you will relate.
I think Kenny was making Jett nervous and Jett is young and has not learned how to lose and Ken is right he robbed everybody the chance to see if Ken could pass him and take him down. That if either crashed and lost position then Chase got points and Jett loses championship! So let Roczen by, you both slow down, overall stays same, and Chase loses points, very smart racing marathon not a sprint! The Jett fanboys are underestimating kens speed… you can come up with any excuse you want about “new points system” Or “baby gift” but the part of the story no one is focusing on is that Jett did pull away to about a 3 second gap and then ken came back and caught up to him a SECOND time with plenty of time left… which means the time where Jett said “I was doing math” was also the same point in which ken was already back on him… Kenny also said that Jett was getting off balance (likely from charging with a chaser) not to mention the post race interview was shady as hell and everyone knows it. He literally finished 2023 season. 2020 & 2021 also . Just to name the most recent. Only season he didn’t finish is 2022 and it’s because he was dealing with actual health issues.
