In Denmark we have those balls (just the fried balls, not covered in chocolate and all that stuff) around christmas time, served with jam and powdered sugar. It's pretty great. They're called Æbleskiver.
Was about to comment the same thing! We have a cast iron skillet for them, that's been past down through my family for generations. I'm not even a breakfast person, but I always get excited whenever Christmas day comes around just so I can have them😋
Oof that will be my lil bro who just eat anything I give😂anyways, even though am not from his country but in my countries takoyaki is pretty famous and it was my fav.. So delicious! This is his fault that I want to buy🥴💀😫
This is similar to a Dutch dessert called poffertjes, which is practically this but the balls are covered in powdered sugar and can be drizzled with chocolate sauce the only difference between this and poffertjes is that poffertjes are much thinner, and are not coated in sauce completely but only drizzled on top, most poffertjes vendors have a similar machine but much larger to accommodate for more people, it tastes amazing with Nutella and me and my family would always have it when we visited my aunt in the Netherlands The story of poffertjes Poffertjes is a famous traditional Dutch dessert sold by street vendors it was made in the winter and eaten in the winter, the origins are still quite unknown with little evidence supporting the theories
Wow, that looks tasty (and surprisingly easy to make, if you have that takoyaki cooker kinda thing lol). I always wonders what these 🍡 things which I always see in anime tasted like. I somehow just assumed they were either made of glutinous rice, or tasted something like karyoka. Which are both wrong assumptions lmao I never would’ve thought they had a more cake-like texture. Good to know 👍
My Mexican bf and I went for sushi and I told him the wasabi was guacamole. I gave him the biggest bite. He told me later that's how he knew I was the one. Married over 20 years now.
The reason why dango is like this: ed because they are said to represent peach flowers (pink) which bloom in Spring, the pure colour of snow (white), and the beauty of new growth (green).
