On day 1 of our trip to Alaska, we drove from Anchorage to Seward to board our day cruise to Kenai Fjords National Park. This was a 11AM to 6PM cruise with lunch included. It took us about an hour and half to get into the deep waters to see some of the most magnificent views of the Kenai Peninsula Borough, Fox Island, Resurrection Bay, The Arch and ending with the surreal experience of the Aialik Glacier up close. We also got to touch a little piece of the glacier.
They serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages onboard with a reasonable price unlike many other boats and cruises. For ex. coffee, hot chocolate and teas were all for $2 each. Before we go into the deep waters, they serve lunch which is a vegetarian or a chicken wrap with some chips and granola bar. You need to carry your own water.
The staff on the cruise was very helpful and caring towards passengers who got sea sick and helped them feel better. Our captain had an experience sailing for about 13 years and was very good with changing course when the waters got very choppy.
We booked this cruise via @Viator (viator.com) and cost us approximately $300 for 2 adults. If, due to the weather conditions, the cruise does not operate on the day you booked, they offer refunds or an option to rebook on another day.
