I live close to reptilandia and have been a couple times. I was there last weekend and met and spoke to Ari. I certainly don't want to step on their toes but he did tell me they got some Croc Tegu eggs. Pretty cool! It's so nice to meet these people who know so much and are doing things the right way! Love this place so much!

Quetzal....... I immediately thought of the ancient Quetzalcoatlus ! That giant, flying pterodactyl that I first encountered on the "Dinosaur Train" cartoon series ! Fascinating video ... I will want to watch it several times to really absorb all the information about the creatures and the artwork in that museum. And I TOTALY agree that there needs to be collaboration between academics, zoos and private collectors ! My grandson, Jasper, is on the path of being in all three of those worlds.

Hi Kenan Quetzel has such a awesome place in Texas. His enclosures are so natural, and well designed. Reptilica has such a variety of Reptiles. That Komoto was friendly with the woman keeper. Looking forward to more of your trip.❤Love Reptiles. Cindy

Absolutely awesome! Love the story of the Trachyboa. Fascinating little genus, pretty and interesting. Those and Bromeliad Boas are some of my favorite lesser known "boas." I also very much agree we need to bridge the gap between private/zoo/public/research as much as possible. Rising tide raises all ships type of thing. I would love to do something like Quetzl once my son is an older, tho more rescue and sanctuary. Such an awesome and unique collection! (Also those exhibits are absolutely amazing, the Anaconda enclosure, the arboreal enclosures... Some of the best ive ever seen period)

Such an amazing place! I wonder if he was to put one way transparent film on the emerald boas enclosure if that would help. It would reflect the green as well as hide the humans shape. That might work for viewing as well as for the animal.

This guys is amazing Kenan. His visualization of reptiles and monitors is amazing. Really anything he talks about he has such a vast knowledge of everything. This is one of my most favorite videos youve ever done. I would love to chat with this guy, i could talk all day long. I know he knows more then just reptiles and animals. Apt name, Quetzal comes from Mexican/American from the Ancient Maya meaning "feathered". There is a bird called the Quetzal. The mayan god "Quetzalcoatl" meaning The feathered serpent. So cool name for him !

A lot of zoos are hands off with their Komodo dragons which is probably not the best for captive animals. Obviously they are monitors and can be socialized which gives you more ways to work and interact with them

The first time Ari was explaining to us how he built the logs, but I was so amazed at the enclosures and animals I wasn’t paying attention😂 They are all very cool people and I’m sure he would be happy to tell you how he does it.

A coral cobra paralyzed me for 13 hours after a bite . At the time they were not considered as medically significant and I didn’t respect its venom the way I should’ve.

One lizard that is from Ecuador that might be extinct or critically endangered. Are the Pinocchio anole it would be amazing to have a breeding program with them. Go out and try and catch a pair of them

Hey Ken what day in June is your birthday Just curious why birthdays in June as well June 30th i'm going to be 60 so I'm just ten years older than you. I hope cake throws you a big bash for your 50th this year. Also can you do us a favor can you show us clips of slinky through the ages of your ownership of him so we can see like how much he's grown and changed like pick a rough date you know figure figure June and show the first time you got him and every year subsequently just show clips of how he's changed size was personality wise so on and so forth be interesting to see. thanks keep up the great work I love your channel I love what you're doing for the animals keep up the great work praises to Kate and Leo and Sophia for all the help they do to help you around the camp. I mean what's not to praise about Kate she gave mouth to mouth resuscitation to Darwin How many women do you know that would blow air in the turtles nose? And of course Sophia and Leo handy person and cameraman they do an awesome job.
