This is so true. Many of us older women look back on our lives and realize so much of it was dictated by others-especially by dominant men, or just those who we wrongfully trusted to help us be who we thought we should be. As I’m older, and have lived in a healthy long term marriage, raised four sons of my own, I realize who I was all along, and hope that is who shines through for my kids.

They also talk about how the film crew tried to pit them all against each other. They talk about how she was the youngest and newest and got treated differently and rubbed it in their faces. I don't think any of them complain about the perks of fame & fortune, which is not the problem. But a lot of famous & hugely successful people actually say they were at the most miserable point in their personal lives at the peak of the success in their careers. But unless you're personally close to them, you're not gonna hear that from them. Their publicists/managers & their contracts largely control their public image & messaging, which are tied to their costly projects that a lot of people & industries rely on for their own livelihoods & businesses, so they have a lot less freedom to do & say whatever they wish publicly than when they were just regular people. With success come more responsibilities, pressure, adversaries & problems. Which is why a lot of the biggest names then decide to go the opposite way later by retracting into a reclusive world or just leave it all behind to start a new, more "standard," low-key life, if not go down the even darker, tragic paths, unfortunately for some of them.

Of course, there are much more in the business who have been able to manage to steer the problem towards a more positive segue, but none of them actually peaked even half of those heights that are scalable only to a rarefied few.
