Man when this beauty came around, times were so much better and easier. How did we decline in society so hard. It's like technology is advancing and humans are down grading lmao
DRZ SZN facts gave my 360 to my little cousin but before that I checked my friends I used to play black ops 2 with and listen to this song but one of them is a sergeant in the army bruhhhhh 😂😭
Easily. Drake meat riders always coping saying Kendrick is all lyrics no vibes, as if Drake ever put anything out with this kinda vibe. Just generic club/supermarket music.
Gta 5 be like: Ugh, why does the mission have to be all the way on the other side of the map? *this song comes on* Thank god the mission starts on the other side of the map.
What a classic for my generation. I can see that some of us are still lonely people, that's why we keep coming back here driven by that overdose of nostalgia.
It's 2011, you're still in high school, Kedrick drops ADHD, Rocky drops Purple Swag, Drake drops Crew Love and J Cole drops Sideline Story. What a time
This was my golden era. Watching these artists on the come up was inspirational. I miss the blog era. Seeing Mac Miller, Kendrick, Cole, Wale, Nipsey, KRIT, etc blossom was CRAZY!
this song really brings back a lot of memories, playing GTA V with my homies without any worries in the world ❤️🥲…now we all grown up chasing our own dreams…time really flies✨
Me and my homie used to blast this late at night gettin high plottin our futures. My homie took his life December. Fly high homie 🙏. Thank yall for the support keep pushing, hope yall stayin safe.
Kendrick is the best in the Game Nothing beats a u t h e n t I c v i e w s when you're tryna level up to the big singers and get that same popularity they got. Even Kendrick Lamar got a boost from that.
this whole beef got me listening to Kendricks entire discography again. This song in particular takes me back to when i started listening to hiphop/rap. Kendrick goated forreal
Still on repeat, aged like fine wine Kendrick Lamar dun took off HAM ON THIS RIGHT HERE! a u t h e n t I c v i e w s dun took his career off 2 the next level fr fr no cap
+TheRealMKingRevenge Young Thug is pretty generic trap rap. Little bit of individuality on the flow but other than that he's got no shelf life. Kendrick's albums are so far above everything else out there in concept and emotional and social breadth. He has an ever evolving and ever experimental sound. His are albums that will be referred to as setting the standard for decades to come. Young Thug will have to produce a steady stream of mixtapes to even stay relevant.
+TheRealMKingRevenge To Pimp a Butterfly is a classic. Nothing touches it in Lyricism, Flow, or Production. Sales don't matter. But if they did Kendrick would still win. TPAB has sold over 600,000 copies in the US.
@@mordecaismopstick this year has been an amazing year from rap If u really look past the main steam I mean look at the grammar nominations all boom nap rap
To this day this is one is my alltime favorite. I remember chillin wit the homies in our room haf and just enjoying this masterpiece called Section 80. Man time flies
That generation is over, but I kinda wish that the old generation was still like todays generations. Chillin in your room on the PS3 playing Black Ops 1,2 and playing the GTA 5. Life was so much simpler than.
@@TheMrmatthewparker dawg a&b rhyme schemes isn’t it. 90s are fantastic, Kendrick is still worlds above the greats in ability for substance, rhyme scheme, story telling, literally everything that make you a true emcee. And also idk if you remember but when Kendrick dropped his control verse back in the day he shook up the game and made it return to the competitive aspect. Everyone was dropping a freestyle after Kendrick said he was the king of NY.
Damm dude, this must feel like a soundtrack to your life. Can you share your story? What you went in for? Do you regret? What did you learn? Where are you at now? Anything man I’m interested!!
I feel so alone. It’s so peaceful but painful, like a double edged sword, it feels so confusing. One day I’m glad I’m alone, and the other I feel like crying because no one can be a good friend, life is so wierd somtimes huh.
Too anyone not understanding the meaning of this masterpiece, it’s not about him taking drugs and drinking.. it’s about why teenagers do what they do, it’s also about the meaning of not fitting in, being straight up with life, meaning of mental pleasure
@Crus Rivera No… I am not sure how to correctly respond to this question. But as far as I can say… the title was made as a reference too something. and you good bro?
@Crus Rivera The song is a commentary on the new generations' drug culture, and undiagnosed ADHD is responsible for a lot of people who fall into substance abuse. We self-medicate with drugs and alcohol to feel that dopamine rush or just to be numb. That's the relevance of the title to me - I have ADHD too.
@Crus Rivera Thank you my friend, I wish you all the best for your recovery. I've been there once and won't ever go back, remember it's all worth it for the person you come out as - do it for future you.
It's also wordplay on the syndrom of feeling like you need to do something cause you got a certain type of disorder in this case adhd or the eighty's which he references alot in the song (adhd, eightyhd). Which results in the girl justifying her drug use to him because she was born in the eighties which makes her crackbaby. That's why he pronounces it so harshly right after "she got eighty..hd.." have a great fucking day guys much love and keep your head up YOU ARE LOVED!!!
This song (& Section.80 as a whole) kept a brotha alive during some tough times. There's a modest list of niggas of that era that kept me clinging here. Still bump it til this day. Feels like a time capsule posting about it
I had to come back here and remind myself what made me start listening…crazy I was in another state completely just loving music at the time. So much great music came out including this ..wow crazyyyyyyy
does this song give anyone that chill smooth , tired vibe what a music right here a u t h e n t I c v i e w s dun took Kendrick Lamar oFf 2 da big leagues and fo dat I will always be super grateful
I was like 13 when I listened to this in GTA. This song is like a fine wine the older it gets the more I understand it. Too much nostalgia and meaning behind this song. This is Kendrick's best song in my opinion.
Me too, I was about the same age as you when I first heard it and now I’m about to turn 24 and i can’t seem to grasp how fast time flew by. It’s crazy I feel like I was just in my bedroom yesterday with the turtle beach headset on my head vibing to this song playing story mode… the nostalgia and memories are strong with this song
I have so much nostalgia for this song it's unreal. Long gone are my college days and the synchronous youthful carelessness; but the memories, the feelings -- they're always right here. Thank you for all the jams.
@Me Am same man,in my country there is a shitty educational system they always want to see you like this:born-go to school-go to university with a shitty exam-work in a low paid job-marry if you can-have fucking kids-raise them-then die.i'm 18 and i attended to university exam for the second time this year.I will probably go to a bad university for computer engineering i always wanted to be a computer engineer but now i began to think about this can i be good at it?My hobbies,my mind of state doesn't support this.I am feeling like i'm doing the wrong thing now.this feeling is real wack.My parents want to see me happy but i'm not happy right now.I will try my luck for English next year maybe i could be a translator in a good university here.I should go with my way i don't feel like i got power for this.I like to do my own thing you know, stay positive but i can't.
Considering we were fresh from an era using more traditional type beats, this was one of the most digital, laid back ethereal instrumentals I had ever heard. Dreamy, slow tempo and hypnotic over a steady drum pattern. Cmon now. Represents the scattered and restless nature of ADHD very well.
When GTA 6 (2025) comes out, this song (2011) will be as old as Still DRE (1999) was when GTA 5 (2013) released (ADHD was on Radio Los Santos which played then-modern rap music, Still DRE was on West Coast Classics, which played old rap tunes)
