+Caleb Lackey Dude. Respect other's opinions. I also think that "DAMN." is not as good as "good kid m.A.A.d city" and "To Pimp A Butterfly". It features some of my favourite Kendrick songs like "LOVE.", "HUMBLE." and "DNA." though.
Me as a grown ass man I literally cried seeing Kendrick crying. I remembered I I used to listen to Kdot like back in 04 way before he was famous & I was rooting for him & see him come this far Man I cried & I know how it felt for him seeing all the rappers he looked up to & studied pass down the torch to him. This was a bug moment for him. I know for a fact all my rooting for him wasn't in vane
“You can see the my city found me and put me on stages. To me that’s amazing” Watching this weeks after the latest legendary rap battle. Kendrick changed my life as a 20yo with Section80 and he’s still making us proud in 2024
:') That moment when you know you've finally made it. Going through all the struggles of surviving in Compton to being crowned the new king of hip hop in the west coast.
That must have been so unreal for him i mean being passed the torch by snoop then tearing up and having his day ones talk to him from ear to ear while the crowd chants his name like god damn... i wonder what was going on in his mind
You’d have to feel like you’ve already achieved every dream you could’ve imagined first time you touched the mic, but then he went on to make GKMC TBAB DAMN. and MMTBS 😭 😭
@@HeisMertz_ then initiated a war with biggest hip hop pop star act in Drake, won, made Not Like Us and performed in Inglewood hours ago for Juneteenth while breaking Drake streaming records left and right. Unreal. Prophecy fulfilled
I am so glad that this got recorded. Its incredible to watch this in hindsight knowing that those West Coast OG's knew that Kendrick was destined to become one of the greatest MC's to ever do it.
@@debrab3738Exactly, I can't believe The Game would betrayaled Kendrick for that actor from Canada and allow him to sneak diss Kendrick on his song AND then shot the mv in Compton with him
I got emotional watching this !!! I'm all the way in Australia I wish I had a chance to see him as often as everyone in America :( LOVE YOU FOREVER KING KENDRICK!!!!!!!
@knutt81 Don't worry about it. It got taken down after both Pac and Snoops AI voices were used and their estates were pissed. It's easy to forget it was part of the beef.
He was there yup. That's really crazy bc Mos Def really was foreshadowing all of this in january/february and caught a lot of flack for it but he was right about Drake not being authentically hip hop just like DMX before him too, Common, Joe Budden, Meek Mill, Pusha T...
You can see the envy in "The Game", just in his body language when approaching kendrick and constantly talking and sonning him after he was passed the torch, even that hand shake was weak. Now in 2024, Kendrick is king, Drake has been slayed and The game decides to go after Ross mad late? Lame as hell.
When Game Mentioned Nip I felt that one. New generation leaders of WC Rap YG, Kendrick Lamar, Black Hippy / TDE, Nipsey Hussle... R.I.P. Young Nip C-Note.
i love this video, kendrick has been my fav rapper since 012 seeing his journey has been amazing but the energy in that room was on a different level just og's showing love to young g's like seeing kurupt, snoop, game mos def talib kweli and his bros absoul jay rock and q i dont sense one bit of hater energy just love and respect i fuck with that fr
This is what you call unity and homage. Not all the old heads are bitter and prideful. They recognized Kendrick is carrying the torch for the west coast and they solute him accordingly. Kendrick was in tears because he worked hard to earn they respect and he loves them too. This is hip hop and I love seeing this. We can all disagree about certain things involving modern rap, but I think we all can admit Kendrick is one of few now that study, respect and love the craft of rap.
Never had more goosebumps on m body than I did watching this video. He's so humble and so good at what he does. Always will be my favorite. King Kendrick
damn, there's alot of legends on that stage right there. Snoop, Game, Kurupt, Warren G, Mos Def, think the guy in the red cap was Daz Dillinger, think i saw Layzie Bone also, and Kendrick Lamar of course, the newest legend in the history of hip-hop
Overhyped? Hell no. He worked his ass off & now people are just giving him the attention & praise he deserves. Love Kendrick. ~Three fingers in the air ~
I can’t even begin to imagine this feeling. Working so hard at something your whole life, busting your ass & struggling to get up, reaching the top & having the guys you used to look up to, guys you thought were the best ever coming to you & telling you they think you’re the best there is. That sounds crazy even to think about.
