Six years ago Pusha bullied Drake into accepting he's a father, 6 years later kendrick bullying him cause he ain't a good one is some crazy ass continuity
Been watching them for a couple years and tre is always on top of that shit. I feel like Pat catches more of the reaching stuff but tre analyzes every single bar as he’s listening and it’s crazy
Crodie is Toronto slang for "brodie" so he's mocking him by using toronto slang and at the same time Drake has a cat named Crodie so Kendrick is also calling him pussy 😂😂
It goes deeper too, brodie got changed to crodie by Toronto slang to imitate the way crips talk. He’s saying they’re fake imitators of LA gang culture while giving a demonstration of how using an accent of somewhere you’re not from sounds ridiculous
This isn’t even battle rap. This is what hip hop has always been. This is the difference between hip hop and rap. Rap is when life imitates art for entertainment purposes. Hip hop is when art imitates life! That’s why Kendrick can’t lose. Drake is an actor playing a role and reading a script his ghost writers wrote. Kendrick pens his experiences for the culture, which is part of the reason he has A PULITZER!!
I'll explain that phrase in eight bars, A musical phrase is a passage of notes that work together to create a musical thought, similar to a group of words that work together to create a spoken sentence. It is a fundamental unit of music, often ending with a musical punctuation mark called a cadence. A musical phrase can be short or long, and it may end with a sense of question or statement. In music, phrases are used to convey emotions, tell a story, or convey a message. They are created through an interaction of melody, harmony, and rhythm. A phrase can be repeated, varied, or contrasted with other phrases to create a larger musical structure. in this instance kendrick's musical phrase was *eight bars long* ending on the melly shot
Kdot really sit Drake down, threatened him, ridiculed him, attacked him and his 20 ghostwriters, made fun of his fatherhood, revoked his n-word pass then proceeded to challenge his ass to a rap battle on cam😭😭
@@goldsilver-u3l i didnt think you were referring to that line. that wasnt about no rap battle lol obviously kendrick outraps drake. He was throwin shade referencing Sizzlac. Sizzlac snatched Drake's chain wayy back in like 2009 or sum and he filmed realest in the 6 there before he died. Drake was gonna file a police report about the robbery but apparently stopped cause being a snitch doesn't fit how drake wants to "be from the streets" i think kendrick referred to the snitch allegations with the camera line. I think the line about gunna alludes to this too. Drake aligns himself with Pressa another toronto rapper and pressa's gang is the toronto crips thats why kendrick keeps saying "crodie" in that rhyme scheme along with copying the canadian accent after what he said earlier about drake imitating. The sizzlac/drake rumours was big in toronto back when he died. Whatever he was talking about it definitely wasn't challenging a 'rap battle'
Facts. Everytime he go against a real lyricist he lose. Pusha T, KDot even Ross bodied him. He can’t compete against real 🥷🏽s . That’s the difference between a rapper and a MC.
Real quick, Euphoria is an HBO show about high school kids doing drugs and having sex, disconnected with reality. Drake is an executive producer on the show... Don't let that go over your heads.
K Dot goes further. The line were he says “I make music that electrify em, you make music that pacify em. I could double down on that line, but spare you this time, thats random acts of kindness” it’s a double entendre by saying “pacify em” as in pacifier referring to Drakes immature audience, but he could have gone further and referenced it toward Drakes predisposition for minors…he a pedo
Future's middle name is "DeMun", Drake said on "Pushups" "don't wake the Demon up", Future has a song called throw Away. Kendrick basically said Drake you want to be Future(a guy from the hood) but that pretending gonna get u shot with this throw away(slang for gun)"...That was a crazy ass bar 🔥 🔥 🔥 Someone told me that YMW Melly last name also is "Demons", Kendrick said he's "YMN Melly"...I can't even count how many entendres that was. Kendrick cooked
Triple Entendre because throwaway also is a quadruple entendre for the way Drake throw his bread away and get caught lacking in the quintuple entendre 🤓👆
Triple Entendre because everyone "wants to be DeMun" (Future) until they get "chipped by a Throwaway", reference to Future's song Throwaway where he famously rapping sad bout girls. So everybody wanna be Future till they get hurt over a girl, which was the start of the beef w Future Metro and Drake
@@joegez7why would he defend himself over the control verse? That was him just electrifying the game, anyone who took it different was clownin, acting like Kendrick ain’t hood bruh
The backwards line at the beginning is Richard Pryor as the wizard of OZ from the film THE WIZ…it’s the part when they expose the wizard as a fake and he breaks down and screams “Everything they say about me is true, I’m a phony!”
@Peter-zc8fr Drake got into it with Pusha T (a rapper) a few years back, and they both dissed eachother. Pusha T's diss was really hype at the time so Kendrick is saying, first go back and try to win against Pusha T before you come at me.
@CowboyPete it was that but he started with "for Pharrell I'll inherit the beef. Fuck pushin P(Pharrell) let me see u pusha-t (2 teez his bodyguard and Pusha-T)
Agreed! The “make music to pacify ‘em, I could double down on that line but will spare you”. A subtle warning about the underage claims coming. Pacify like pacifier. Or like babies. Secret children. The foreshadowing is crazy.
Yea. Kendrick honestly gave specific keys on how this beef would go. He took 17 days to respond because he made tracks for each way Drake would respond
@@tonybg604 yeah because pushing t instead of pushing p, or calling him a bad bitch didn’t do anything for me. I’m juts asking tho bozo so go ahead and give me a good one or shut up
Not I watch this when y’all first reacted but spinned back around months later..y’all understood the assignment..luv y’all reactions..keep doing what y’all do
Guys this is the most lyrically dense diss track of all time. I've listened to it at least 20 times and I feel like there is still a lot to uncover. And the flows are just beautiful for somebody who has really listened to rap music since the early 90s, Kendrick is just a pleasure to listen to man.
This line just clicked for me 😮 “I make music that electrifies them, you make music that pacifies them… I could DOUBLE down on that line”… 1. Title of song - Euphoria (Drake produced show about Teens + sex) 2. Mentions $500k (New Zealand) open case - Drakes sexual assault case settlement amount 3. You make music that pacifies them - Pacify like you would a BABY with a dummy (pacifier), giving the line double meaning and the reason he says “I could double down on that line” I bet you this entire song is a warning to Drake that he knows something about Drake involving an underaged person 🤞🏾
"I Make music that electrifies them" Alright was used in protests so he is right about that. Im going to do a reach but he electrified the whole rap scene two times lol, Control and Like that made the whole game respond
This what ppl not understanding! K is in his realm with it not even the same as Drake frfr multifaceted bars is better than club bops imo tho both serve there purposes only one can be #1
@@kevincaasi926Pusha T factually & lyrically obliterated Drake on a track named Story of Adidon to an extent that Drake never responded. It is said to be one of the best diss tracks in recent times. Basically Drake go put in a hearse & Pusha T is the guy who put him there.
Why would you not include the "STOMACH" part?? I swear you mfs literally aren't listening...like there's something wrong in your brain to make you forget the bars THAT quickly
@@alicianyjah Kdot and future made like that. Drake sent a cease and desist letter on the record like that which means he tried to get it no airplay. Then Drake dropped back to back and Kendrick said he like that record. You just gotta listen to it
The sixth sense bar was fire. Joel Osment was the kid that played in the sixth sense and also the movie A.I - fire how using it as reference to the previous question. “Am I battling “Ghost” or “A.I” the use of wordplay and cadence are incomparable. Fkn barzzz
We have to thank Drake for one thing tho…….. giving us the most Kendrick we had in a LONG TIME and some of the best diss songs to be made about him😢😂😂😂😂😂
5:32 “Everybody want to be demon until they get chipped by a throw away”. He’s referencing Future on this part. Future’s middle name is “Demun” and he has a song called “Throw Away”. He’s talking about Drake saying when Drake puts up his tough guy act that’s him doing his best Future persona. Because ever since Drake started reaching out to Future everyone knows his entire lane of music changed. How we go from “Marvin’s Room” and “Hold on, we’re going home”. To him making songs like “No tellin”, “Upset” and now “Daylight” with him trolling Xxxtentacion’s death acting like he was the one that got him killed. That’s 3 different time periods of Drake I just gave you of him acting tough since he started collaborating with Future. Kendrick’s is also saying in in this line “Everybody want to be demon(Drake acting tough) until they get chipped(shot) by a throw away(in the streets a throw away is a gun that was use to shoot someone and is disposed of either being hidden, destroyed or given away)”. So he’s saying lyrically he is shooting Drake right now with this diss and he got murdered.
You reaching for life wtf are you talking about? Drake been dropping hard shi like that before future? Started from the bottom? Underground kings? The motto? Over? Energy? 6 god!?!? These were all bangers where drake talkin like he with the shits claiming his shi too like tf you yappin all this glazing nonsense? Nasa called and said stop reaching for the stars. Y’all Kendrick glazers built diff fr
Kendrick ate him alive! Most of today's generation does not understand the quality of Kendrick 🗣 his wordplay is crazy he is the best M.C of this generation
Ahhh, I thought it was a take on he didn’t aim down enough to take account for all the recoil and that the previous shots went over drakes head. That this time he would aim down to make up for the recoil when it starts spraying up
@@shtface9637Kendrick's bars are thoroughly layered, you can't get most of them on your first listen. It's been 11 days and I'm still discovering different layers 😂
@samuelmulubwachalwe227 Exactly. People are being too harsh on reactors. I've watched multiple breakdown videos, reactions, and read loads of comments, and I'm still coming across new interpretations. Kendrick is a pulitzer prize-winning lyrical genius.
Drake's core fans caught it too. That's why they out here mad and calling it trash. Kendrick even said this was just for play play. I can't wait to see it get serious.
“They demons till they get chipped by a throwaway” he really calling Drake sensitive for responding to a verse he called a throwaway. Kendrick cold as hell
Future's middle name is "Demun", Drake said on "Pushups" "don't wake the Demon up", Future has song called throw Away. Kendrick basically said Drake you want to be Future(a guy from the hood) but that pretending gonna get shot with this throw away(slang for gun)"...That was a crazy ass bar 🔥 🔥 🔥
THIS THE ONEEEEE. I knew that was a shout oout to future. Drake had a chip on his shoulder after the like that record. One of futures biggest songs with a MEAN BEAT SWITCH is Throw Away. @jabrilwebb5624
KDot switched from the client to the therapist for Drake. He sounds like he’s seated on a comfy couch, pen and pad in hand, & checking off each session topic.
The insider text at the record label PROVES that the label was trying to prevent "Like That" from getting radio play, so that it wouldn't hurt Drake too much. 🙄🖕🏽 His b*tch ass is protected.
3:40 “pacify” is a double entandre hinting at drake’s history about his relationships with minors and also hinting at hip hop meme about drake’s audience age range.
"You better walk around like Daft Punk" is crazy. 💀 Daft Punk is an electric music duo that are famous for the helmets they always wear, never revealing their faces. Meaning, Drake should hide his face after this. 😂
Like the Sixth Sense thing. Its Macoley Culkin-he was in Sixth Sense and AI. Drake using AI for his disses, Sixth Sense as a instinct for animals to sense danger.
@edwinsolis5710 Hang on, Culkin wasn't in either of those Haley Joel Osment. Kendrick said Joel Osteen, and everyone is saying it was purposeful because Osteen is a cult leader that uses ghost writers to write his sermons. Then there's the master manipulator, being something you're not aspect to that Osteen bar too. Obviously it flips back to Osment when he brings up A.I. and the Sixth Sense.
If you say K-dot's diss was trash, it just means you're a fan of ole boy who wears heart-shaped parts in his head. And that's okay. But this is what real hip-hop should sound like. No ghostwriting team. Straight bars.
These bars hit so hard when you actually break it down.... "Dementia" must run in his family, but let it get "Shaky" "I PARK YA, SON" (Parkinsons Disease & Dementia correlation and Shaky is also a symptom) then he said Let your "CORE" audience "STOMACH" that Then tell 'em where you get your "ABS" from. Even as a Drake fan that shit was so toughhhh🔥🔥😭
another cool little meaning behind a bar was when kendrick said "I hate the way that you walk, the way that you talk. I hate the way that you dress", the way he words it is another shot at drake with his micheal jackson stuff. Micheal Jackson says "I like the groove of your walk, your talk, your dress" In the way you make me feel. Many cool hidden meanings behind a lot of bars in this song
24:42 phenomenal observation. It was very suspect how Drake didn’t stand behind pushups until he saw the consensus was favourable; he let people think it was AI
Hayley Joel Osment is the child actor that starred in the movies "The Sixth Sense" and "AI" - that bar is CRAZY when you realize who Hayley Joel Osment is.
It's even crazier because he called him Joel Hayley Olstean. Joel olestean is a super preacher who meant consider a scammer and a fake Christian, like he sees drake as a fake but popular rapper
Yooo that “I hate the way you walk, I hate the way you talk…..” take me back to that DMX interview with the breakfast club when they asked him what he thought bout Drake😂😂😂😂😂
