My lord this song is amazing man, straight amazing. I am so happy that Kendrick blew up the way he did. Most people hate when their underground artists become popular but this occurrence is RARE. I still respect Kendrick even more NOW then I did during this time, because he is challenging himself and his peers by continuing to create thought provoking lyrics as well as staying true to who you are as a person. Whether you prefer this Kendrick or the man he has become, there is one thing both of them should have from you - RESPECT. IMO, ALL of this man's work is sheer excellence.
No doubt! He's got a 100% record with projects dropped! Who else can say that. I don't think biggie and Tupac count because they didn't have the chance to let their music age, or even release enough projects!
not gonna lie i wasn't hyping him up since training day. i found him from ignorance is bliss back in my sophomore year in high school, 2 years ago. the first time i heard that song it was like no other feeling, i knew he was something. me and my clique were the only group fuckin with him at the time. now im almost a senior and the album that will change hip hop forever comes out in one month and 20 days.
It's crazy cause I was hyping kendrick up since a little bit after training day dropped, it's insane seeing him rise to fame. it's unreal, really, I grew through soooo much with his music and it's like, this is my nigga, he helped me become a man....
i feel exactly the same. Ever since I heard C4 I started telling everyone and they momma about kendrick. Now I see him popping up everywhere, and I'm living in Amsterdam! It went so fast it's incredible..
It was the summer of 2012, I remember blazing to this Me and the homie Jorgey (rip). Miss you homie wish I can go back to that day blazing in your truck on lunch break 😢 This song will always take me back to that day
yeah those people have somewhat of a hipster complex (not saying all hipsters are like this) they like artist when their less known or underground but when they blow up they start complaining. I for one havent known about him as long as you may have I found out about him early 2011 i think ever since I discovered him I've been hooked, im a fan, and i remember when I thought this guy is going to blow up, now here I am witnessing his rise in the game.
Thats what happens when your lyrics are influential... He knows how tow to relate like no other ppl listen to his music n are like i been there done that seen that been through dat.. this should be the objective of any "REAL MC".. Feel me
Funny thing is that now the dude is actually bringing back quality to commercial rap and hiphop. If making a correct prediction is corny then i guess we should totally dismiss foresight.
