@@Mya_waterbro came a looong way, it’s insane. I was just watching his in-studio video w/ meek mill “a1 everything” and couldn’t believe how he’d end up writing concept albums and winning a Pulitzer Prize.
I remember when Kendrick came to Detroit in the middle of april and that's when the weather starts gettin nicer here, but i guess he's not used to the cold at all cause he was like "it's cold as fuck in this bitch but we still gon turn up" it was just funny to me cause we were all loving the weather since the winter was way worse
@@JaeRocReacts No one is saying he still doesn't clown around in his privacy. But in public, the same? Not in the least. He carries himself differently in his recent interviews.
Kendrick has grown so much since this interview but it’s always cool to see artists from the beginning of their careers cause u can see the evolution over time. Pre TPAB and Damn KDot but still a force to be reckoned with in the rap game.
I work in Compton, right next to the courthouse. Almost everywhere you go, every store has Bulletproof glass and Beggars asking for change standing outside. On top of that there's potholes everywhere.
White tees dont wear them because like they said they will think you are gang affiliated white tees or pro clubs and you will get pressed if you look like u bang anywhere in la not just compton
Being from Compton and now living Denver, dang Y TAMS IS THE BEST, if you ever in Compton you got go there....the best place in the country to get your grub on...
cursedswordsman So you are able keep the money maker in tact (you aren't punched in the face/beat), or your life (killed)... It's a known fact that colors in California play an extremely large role in everyday life. Mainly because of the large influence of gangs or territorial beef. Colors are the segregationist of urban life in California, whether it be at a swap meat or in a particular school or neighborhood. Just be cautious of your every action in certain environments. If your from there like Kdot stated you won't make those silly mistakes or you know not to tread water on someone else's neighborhood. It results in a plain statement of clarifying to the individual wearing the wrong color your in the wrong jurisdiction. Simplistic territorial boundaries. Hopefully that helps. No offense to anyone injured in situations as this its just the truth.
cursedswordsman basically, watch a documentary on youtube about the "Bloods" and the "crips" to really understand. However, short story is there are two main gangs in compton. Bloods and Crips. Bloods wear Red, Crips wear Blue. you dont want to wear gangs clothing because you are just asking for trouble if you do haha
It doesn't matter what color, ethnicity, or background you are!! Anyone can go hangout in Compton. Simple fact... Don't be an idiot! If you go looking for trouble, you'll find trouble.
***** I hang out in Compton all the time. I've never had a problem. If you've been punked there, then that's your own fault for being a chump. Anywho, you probably aint even from Compton, let alone from LA or California. Go back to watching your nerdy destiny dungeons and dragon videos
you got an asian name, "SOB" and "666" in your name. you sound like a white teenager fan of tyler the creator. i dont think you can call anybody a chump for being pressed for wearing colors. if that never happened to you, hooray, but if it happens, you aint superman, you are not fighting back.
fuck off lad, I'll run though the cunts houses, kicking their families heads in asking "where's the safe at" hahaha ya haven't got a clue bruzz, USGay isn't the only place with scary people.
My mom is insane. We were at a gas station passing through Compton and my mom said this lady was "looking at her funny" so she went to the lady's car and started yelling at her ahaha.
I just came from compton visiting first time in cali so I had to go to Compton ... everybody was super nice in cali. It was crazy how nice people was. I'm not gonna lie ...I see why the cost of living is high out there. Good weather and good people. I didnt see alot of gang activity in Compton but I saw those gates up everywhere. So I know they be on some bullshit ... but compared to alot of cities yall got it made out there.
@@newthrash1221 only people the that talk crazy about Cali is people from Cali, crime, homelessness or they talking about the state politics. Other than that people say good things about Cali. I’m not from Cali but I’ve been around, its not perfect but with some improvements it’s close. I think people from Cali think we think that for some reason.
Don't play the clarinet badly, don't wave your flashlight back and forth, don't stomp on the ground, don't eat cubed cheese, don't wear clown shoes, don't wear a hoop skirt, don't wear a sombrero in a goofy fashion, and never EVER SCREECH LIKE A CHIMPANZEE! And that's how you survive a sea bear attack, I mean survive in Compton
I had that feeling for at least 3 months. I didn't know myself I started being mean, and was doing worse in my school work. You always get that feeling you don't want to be told what to do by some higher power that you can't even see. But I realized that it's a necessity in my purpose of life. It's alright I'm not trying to preach to you.
2:05 "you're going to get pressed. You're going to get banged on, disrespected, violated." Damn I think that's what happened to Drake. If only he had caught this interview
you know one of my dreams is visit a Compton. i love hip-hop and it's mekka for hip-hop but i'm white and i'm usually wearing a little bit skinny trousers but i don't what will happen i i'll visit the Copmton.
I want to visit Compton, too. People often visit places for the physical aspects of it and not anything else. Las Vegas is a prime example of a beautiful city on the outside, but shitty on the in. Compton may be fucked up to people who know no better, but the Williams sisters and N.W.A. Are prime examples of what that place can teach you before hitting fame. When I see kids getting brand new expensive cars for their birthday while I just get clothes and a postcard with money if I'm lucky, it makes me realize those kids have no idea what hard work is. The people in Compton do, and I can relate to that.
Compton swapmeet is not as bad as he makes it seem. I've walked in there with those particular colors, even though i don't bang. I never got 'pressed'. If you do go, try that ice cream place way in the back of the place. It's good.
EpicZeke76 Nah. Shit's changed. At least in Cali. In Inglewood, where I live, you'd be stupid to wear white. But it could be different in the state you're in.
Most gang members in Southern Cali wear a plain white tee. It's a red flag for law enforcement and usually means that you're in some way linked to gang activity.
My best friend lives on Pine st. I walk from his house to the swapmeet all the time, wearing red sometimes, blue sometimes, and I never have any problems. I'm also not going out there searching for any either.
I've been in the swap meet a handful of times with friends who dont gang bang wearing red and there were no issues. Idk if it was because it was sunday afternoon and it wasnt busy or what but that shit was not reckless like ppl make it out to be
