Grizzlies fan here. Z-Bo isn't fake at all. He will hurt someone, and it's well known in Memphis that this man is a menace. Super nice and charitable dude, but you don't want to mess with him. If anything, he's underselling himself. He LOVED Marc and Conley, two players who historically do not talk much trash to opponents. Instead, they let Z-Bo take care of their opponents. A note Secret Base left out: the dude who got his eye shattered by Z-Bo was Ruben Patterson, an intimidating player who had assault cases/ a sexual assault case on record. Z-Bo put him in his place to defend another young player who was being harassed. His career only ended because of legal trouble when he was found with 2 pounds of marijuana. He had a solid 3-5 seasons left in him to play.

Zach Randolph is an underrated NBA player One of my all time favorite players. Memphis Grizzlies legend. A consistent 20 and 10 player in his prime. Loved his play style. Without ZBo there is no Grit N Grind as he was the absolute heart and soul of that team

Could argue this was less beef and more two guys who took the game so seriously it almost brought them to blows, by the end when they said they wanted to be more physical in 2014 that was the ultimate sign of mutual respect between them.

Z-Bo has been very underrated for his entire career though some older folks might say he was overrated particularly during his Portland days because he does have the talent and skillset to succeed but he couldn't utilize it because of lack of motivation and his offcourt issues.

I did not remember them "beefing" per se, rather just Z-Bo being tough back at Perkins who wanted this persona. On the other side, I vividly remember that discussion with the ref where both were pleading to let them go at each other and not call fouls! That was quite different from the changes that started at the time and a league becoming softer and softer.

Beef History: Perk v Common Sense. For real tho, a good one would be Perk v Steph. When Perk was an injured vet on the cavs during the mid 2010s, he and Steph had some spicy moments. Perk hasn’t been able to give Steph any props from his fancy chair at ESPN since. Even after the last Warriors championship, Perk still puts Steph down.

If any team had the kryptonite for the young guns it was them. Before GSW won their first CHiP it was OKC, Blazers, & Memphis expected to reign free. That didn't happen and the Dubs rewrote history. 💯

I was locked up with Zach Randolph little brother in the late 90’s…or maybe early 2000’s, I know Zach was playing at Michigan St at the time because we always watched his games. Roger Randolph was an absolute beast. He was tall, skin and reminded me of Kevin Garnett. He was like LeBron James to us at that time around the Pittsburgh area. Shout out to Zach tho 💯 RIP Roger 🙏🏾

Zach Randolph was always one of my favorite players growing up. Dude was ballin when he played in New York but when he went to Memphis the city embraced him like he grew up in the city. Z-Bo could go anywhere in that city and nobody would give him problems. Memphis is a rough City that's gang related I'm not going to say who zebo is affiliated with but if you know you know he has zero problems in Memphis just based off of his affiliations the basketball fans adore him because he embodied the grit and grind attitude of the city
